QBD? You mean CBD?

No, as in QBD... the bookstore...

Still, they'll all be open tomorrow, and I'll be able to get my hand on the precioussss...

Just to say - Bands of Mourning is awesome!

Also, I talked with Josh about the possibility of an official 17th Shard meet up at SLCC this fall, and he seemed interested. We'll see where this goes.

Also, a main argument seems to be "you're just used to it". This is true. We are used to our system in the same way other countries are used to metrics. It doesn't mean one system is better than the other.

Actualy, metric is better. It is clearly easier to convert between different scales, since it uses multiples of ten. Many of its units are also based on objective physical properties of substances. And when you are measuring big or small things, a system based on estimatives gets less useful, even when those things are not big or small to the point you need scientific notation.

EDIT: Plus, that is not the main argument anyway. It is the rebuttal to the argument that the Imperial System is better for daily life.

Also, are the admins taking rosters for being online? There's almost never someone on at this time of day/night (depending on where you are), but I've seen 3 different mods log on and off as the evening's gone by. (It could also be the release party. Is that over yet?)

Was the explanation about Voidus being a mod ever get released? Or, for that matter, the upvote / downvote official post?

The Voidus Decree was not published :P The reputation policy is still under construction according to Chaos.

It probably is because of the release party. Also Voidus, as an Australian was given Mod status to keep an eye on the forum when American staff members were asleep I guess. But we can't expect him to always be online :)

First world problems:

I want to get both Bands of Mourning and Secret History. However, the bookstore and the Post Office (which sells those temporary credit cards that I use for online shopping) are in exactly opposite directions. Both are also just within walking distance, meaning it will be touch and go on whether I can get a lift (it will probably depend on whether Mum needs groceries, tbh). So, I need to walk to the bookstore, pick up Bands, walk all the way back almost right past my house in the opposite direction, pick up the temporary credit card, go home, and purchase Secret History. Not the worst thing ever, particularly since I get 2 Sanderson stories out of it, but I'm feeling lazy, and it's interfering with my hermit lifestyle.

Whaaat? Why didn't anyone tell me about this Secret History novella?  Were there any official news about it?

Oh! And while we're on the topic, how about some very factual absolutely accurate American History as reenacted by Studio C?

While we're at it, we might as well have one on american politics. :P

Ooh! And one on World Politics too! Actually, you guys should watch this one first:

They are just links... That aren't blue...

Oh, I sometimes like to prove my ignorance. That Spanish conversation went over my head... (Though I guess that is probably easy to go over my head, seeing that I'm short...)

Mine too, and I am a portuguese speaker. The two languages would be different dialects of the same if they were more similar, yet I just can't understand one of them.

No it is the secret novela Brandon has been teasing for a while although I think Amazon leaked knowledge about it.

I'm getting kinda worried about the Sherlock fandom... I haven't seen any new stuff on Pinterest since the new episode came out.

...Wait. What new episode? The Christmas special, or has season four started and I missed it?

Huge Harry Potter spoilers.

What if... Severus Snape had survived till the end of the last book?

All that's missing is ten straight panels of Voldemort wailing "BUT I THOUGHT WE WERE FRIIIIEEEENNNNNNDS" while Snape smirks and Harry looks on in morbid fascination.

Wait, isn't SLCC in March?

I was actually going to let the idea percolate a bit before broaching it to Mi'ch; I wasn't gonna expect anyone to do the work for my idea for me, since I know I'm out for this year, but if you want to get it going I will be more than happy to pitch in next year. :)

I still havent gotten Bands <_< And my cousin wants to see me in Gothenburg tomorrow so even if the bookstore gets it then I wont be able to get it... and my card is mean to me and wont buy stuff from the internet so I wont be able to get Secret History until it comes out in the Cosmere collection <_<

Woe is me!

Ok, thats enough whining. In case someone had a bad day and needed some schadenfreude to cheer them up.

A Mistborn Novella that Brandon revealed last night. It has Bands spoilers in it.

WHAT!!!! How did we not know about this until now?

Because Brandon kept it secret on purpose.
