Well like I said over on steelministry.com, I'm sure we can arrange to have you killed off in the first cycle or two. I'm sure it won't take a lot of convincing to get people to lunch/assassinate you. ;)

I'm pretty sure you mean lynch, and not lunch, as I find eating people to be quite distasteful.

I hear that memory loss is one of the main side effects of cannibalism.  :o

STINK's character has been made.

This is somewhat true. Kuru is a subacute spongiform encephalopathy prevalent (used to be, anyway) among the South Fore of Papua New Guinea, and has been shown to be similar to dementia and Alzheimer's. Crucially, the symptoms of Kuru include uncontrolled trembling and progress to the point of total loss of motor control. (Rather than memory loss as the primary symptom.)

Now, the really interesting thing is that the general consensus point is that Kuru spread because of cannibalistic funerary practices among the Fore. So, side effects of cannibalism, you say? ;)

(Note: even more interesting is recent research which suggests that those cannibalistic practices might've been responsible for accentuating evolutionary pressures that led to mutations either: A. resistant to Kuru, or B. resistant to prion diseases in general.)

Edit: Don't judge me, I learn weird things in History of Medicine :P

So.... What your saying is if you eat enough people then you will be resistant to mad cow disease! :P

He woke up facing the ground. "Agh! Why does my head hurt so much." Putting his hand to his head, he sat up and started looking around."Where am I? Or rather, Who am I?" He asked himself. Suddenly, he heard through the walls "-outposts downriver. A band of koloss are coming our way." Realising the inevitability of his situation, "Well, I guess this is it for me." he said to himself.

I will be signing up as 'Unknown'- The amnesiac (Partly because I can't think of a good name).

This is my first time, and I certainly am hoping for a good time.

Best Of Luck To All!

Am I the only one who reads a Planescape: Torment vibe to this, Chief? ;)

I'm not gonna dignify that with a response as you do science, and presumably know how this works ;) I believe the complete prion disease resistance tested out in mice; in the actual Fore population, it manifested as kuru resistance, and the investigators did claim/think that if the Fore hadn't been stopped from consuming the flesh of the deceased, they might have wound up with an entire kuru-resistant population, yes.

Still, my guts detest the eating of humans or other forms that are considered humane. But, I guess, what needs to be done...

Yes, you are the only one.( As far as I know.)

Just as a general question, how many hours do each of you spend per day on SE, or just browsing the forums?

For me it depends on how much school work I have. The more work I have to do the more time I spend on the Shard. It's the most basic form of procrastination.

I do do science you are correct and yes that was a joke.  ^_^ I don't however know too much about prion diseases although I do find them fascinating.

I wish  :P  I still have a year and a half left in my undergrad and who knows if I'll do more school after that.

Oh! I thought you were referring to education upto grade ten. :P

Nope, You are right that I am definitely too old for that.

Now as for something more related to this thread. Unfortunately I will be going on vacation for a week in the middle of when this game will be running so I can't actually play  :(. Can I just get added to the spectator doc when it starts up if there is one?

Uh, Meta, I signed up to play as 'The Amazing Wyrm', not this run-of-the-mill, common-or-garden Wyrm you seem to have me down as >>.

My bad. I fixed it.

...Sigh. Cheers, I guess? I thought you wanted us to have interesting characters to use in writeups? >>

I would like to join as Exisa, a diminuitive person with paranoid tendencies. No, that's not a bump in his shirt. Why would you ask?

The ash fell lightly on the stained glass windows of the cathedral.  Sunlight streamed through illuminating the choir singing softly below.  In front of a large gathering lay Vron, his body wrapped in silken ribbons, atop a marble altar.

A figure decked in golden robes stood at the head of the altar and laid his hand on Vrons forehead.

"Your work is not yet done my disciple.  Arise and continue to carry out my bidding."

Vron, alchemist, poisoner, temple builder and disciple of The Great One has returned.  Hopefully he will last longer this time round.
