Patar he/him Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 I'm hesitant to vote on this one, as I don't know the extent of Alcatraz's abilities. Can anyone tell me, preferably without many major spoilers?

Can anyone tell me, preferably without many major spoilers?Well his powers are a bit hard to control but some of his feeds include supressing the magical powers of other people, destroying magical swords that are suposably undestructabe and supercharging oculatorlenses, which have an extremly wide range of powers. Another person with his Talent could also break time but Alcatraz did not manage to replicate this, at least not yet.

If he destroys Szeth's honorblade and can limit his powers, I have a hard time seeing how Szeth could win.How is he when it comes to combat? Edited October 6, 2015 by patar365
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 Incompetantly awesome. He once beat a soldier by punching himself in the face. He mainly relies on others to fight for him while he comes up with clever plans. He destroyed a Unbreakable Crystin sword by picking it up. At one point, he got pissed enough and destroyed several as armies. I don't think he can limit people's powers though. Szeth would.be able.to lash just fine, unles Alcatraz destroys Gravity.
DreamEternal Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) I vote Szeth. He broke half of the nations he entered and his own sanity because of a storming rock. His breaking talent is the breakiest. Edited October 6, 2015 by CognitivePulsePattern
Alfa he/him Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 It's tragic how this mostly relatively good people are murdering each other...
Mailliw73 he/him Posted October 6, 2015 Posted October 6, 2015 I also vote Szeth. Nothing new to add though.
Patar he/him Posted October 6, 2015 Author Posted October 6, 2015 (edited) I think I may still vote for Szeth. Since this is a one on one fight, Alcatraz has no help. Even if he manages to destroy Szeths sword, he can still use his lashes as a very effective weapon. Edited October 6, 2015 by patar365
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Alcatraz's existence is a very effective weapon. Everything used as a weapon against him automatically breaks. He doesn't need help to survive, and he has a large array of lenses which can grant a wide variety of powers.
Patar he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 Hm, I've changed my mind. I don't know enough about Alcatraz to vote for him, but I also can't vote against him for this same reason. I'm just not going to vote for this round.
DreamEternal Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Bah, I doubt Alcatraz could break Szeth's oath. Szeth has the unbreakiest unbreaking honor ever.
Alvron Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 He destroyed a Unbreakable Crystin sword by picking it up. At one point, he got pissed enough and destroyed several as armies. I don't think he can limit people's powers though. Szeth would.be able.to lash just fine, unles Alcatraz destroys Gravity. Alcatraz has already tried and failed to break gravity so Szeth should be fine with lashings. I'm going to assume Szeth has his Blade that he started with as we don't know how his new one will effect his style plus it's a contestant in the match so wouldn't be fair if they teamed up. While Alcatraz could break the Shardblade I doubt it will have any effect on Lashings. Alcatraz's abilities kick in automatically when he's in danger so while it will destroy a gun, it will only do so when the trigger is pulled. Alcatraz isn't mean enough to break someones bones on purpose so I think Szeth will lash him into the sky. Szeth has my vote.

About limiting other people's powers. He did it in the third book, when the guy that can do karate dance really badly was about to attack him, the Dark Talent just kind of made him stop.
Mestiv he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Guys, about Alcatraz breaking Honorblade. Remember that swords are ADVANCED weaponry, much better at fighting Smedries than guns I think Alcatraz would win anyway if only he came prepared to the fight. Also, he is much more likeable, so my vote is for him.
Patar he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Author Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) And Szeth defeats Alcatraz by one vote! Up next, Nightblood, the bane of evil everywhere, takes on Prof! Edited October 8, 2015 by patar365
Mailliw73 he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 (edited) WHOOOO!!! Nightblood. Sorry, Prof, but Calamity's corruption definitely counts as evil. Edited October 7, 2015 by Mailliw73
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Well, Nightblood is solid matter. So Prof can kind of just make him disapear.
DreamEternal Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Well, Nightblood is solid matter. So Prof can kind of just make him disapear. Nightblood can make everything disapear. 1
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Nightblood can make everything disapear. He has to touch it first though and he needs someone to carry him. Prof can attack from a distance and just squish whoever is wielding Nightblood in the first place.
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 Nightblood could make Prof kill himself though. Prof is genuinely Evil, just good at repressing it.

Doesn't that test work by checking if the wielder considers themselves evil deep within their heart, given that Nightblood can't judge himself? So a corrupted Epic would totally pass the test. Plus the Nightblood induced suicide doesn't lead to the blade being fully unsheated, so Prof should be able to just shrug it of.

Actualy, it checks if the person wants to use Nightblood for persobal gain if I remember well. It is in the warbreaker annotations, I think.
Alvron Posted October 7, 2015 Posted October 7, 2015 If the Prof knew Nightblood was a threat then he could just use a forcefield to squash it into a ball. However I don't think he will see it. Rather Prof will see a tool and pick it up afterwards Nightblood will impale itself into his chest. Profs healing would likely keep him alive but would be unable to remove it so I'm going for a draw. No vote from me this round.
