ParadoxicalZen he/him Posted September 11, 2015 Posted September 11, 2015 (edited) Uhh, so you like intergalactic terrorists who killed their mother, destroyed their people and commit genocide? Über weird is the understatement of the year now. For me it is more the philosophical aspect (as with so many things). I do share his nihilistic views (but not to such an extremely fanatic degree) but his actions (as demonstrated by Thanos Rising) aren't exactly clear cut. Being manipulated and driven insane by the manifestation of a transitional state of existence/metaphysical avatar of entropy does not a nice garden make. (I still fail to understand how Death can even be 'alive' unless we're factoring in Cognitive Realmatics into this ) Edited September 11, 2015 by ParadoxSpren 1
+Slowswift Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 I'll add Patriarch Venlin, from the Riyria Revelations. He's basically responsible for racism towards elves.
Left he/him Posted September 20, 2015 Posted September 20, 2015 A lot of characters from R.A. Salvatore's Drizzt books. Luckily, most do....eventually. 1
Evil_Reptile Posted September 27, 2015 Posted September 27, 2015 Joffrey Baratheon, from A Song of Ice and Fire. 1
RippleGylf she/her Posted October 12, 2015 Posted October 12, 2015 Missy, from Doctor Who. Bear in mind, I haven't seen Season 9, but in Season 8 SHE KILLED OSGOOD SCIENCY! WHY?! I wasn't too stressed about Danny dying, but Osgood? At that moment, I wanted to murder her. Several times over. Hopefully she's a bit better in Season 9... 1
Evil_Reptile Posted October 13, 2015 Posted October 13, 2015 Basically everyone from aSoIaF Very true. Seeing that everyone who's worth not killing is already dead.
Delightful Posted October 15, 2015 Posted October 15, 2015 Basically everyone from aSoIaFDon't you just have to hang around a couple more episodes/chapters ATTD? 2
RippleGylf she/her Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Uther Pendragon, from Merlin. I'm only on Season 2, but I'm pretty sure he dies at some point, and I long to see that episode.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 18, 2015 Posted October 18, 2015 Can't believe this hasn't been mentioned before, but Fenrir Greyback from the Harry Potter series. A werewolf, who attacks (and eats!) people even without using the full moon as an excuse, who takes a special pleasure in maiming and killing children, not to mention expressed sadistic glee at the idea of helping Bellatrix when torturing Hermione Granger….I'm glad he was taken out in the Battle of Hogwarts, but I do wish Rowling had at least presented some solid evidence of his death. Just the notion that he might be prowling around Britain somewhere is enough to give anyone the creeps. 3

Left he/him Posted October 20, 2015 Posted October 20, 2015 Have you seen the theory that Malfoy wasn't made a death eater; rather he was bitten by Greyback? I really love that one
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted October 21, 2015 Posted October 21, 2015 Have you seen the theory that Malfoy wasn't made a death eater; rather he was bitten by Greyback? I'm actually a huge fan of that theory. It simultaneously explains what appear to be holes in the Death Eater assumption, and turns his entire story on its head. Even the DH ending, which I previously disliked because he and his family go out with a whimper instead of a bang, takes on more appeal. He's not coming into his own because after the trauma he'd been through, he didn't need to. He just needed a break, and that is what the ending gives him. And, after watching the last episode of OUaT, I have a new entry. King Arthur. The writers have made him more of a Knight Templar than past literature, which I like. But with this episode, they really went all out. See, he was obsessed with finding the other half of Excalibur, which turned out to be the Dark One's dagger, but anyway, his obsession meant he neglected his wife. So Guinevere had an affair with Lancelot, since he actually, you know, PAID ATTENTION TO HER ON HER BIRTHDAY. Ahem. Arthur found out and he was predictably unhappy about it. But rather than trying to work things out with her, allowing her to divorce him and marry Lancelot, or even just apologizing, Arthur used the Sands of Avalon to rekindle her affection toward him. Yeah. He mind-raped his wife into loving him again. And then he did the same with the rest of Camelot and a few Enchanted Forest characters, but at that point going further really wasn't necessary. For mind-raping his wife, I propose the OUaT King Arthur be placed on the ATTD List.
Edgedancer he/him Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 (edited) With Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain we get these entries. First of, Dr. Huey Emmerich. The details are left a bit vague but the things he definetly did during the course of the game include allowing an inspection to happen in the MSF's Mother Base, without asking the higher ups for an okay, that turned out to be a group of armed soldiers (XOF) with the goal to kill them all (it's not clear if he knew or actually got tricked), build a WMD in the form of a giant robot (Metal Gear) that among other things can launch stealth nukes for the guy in charge of XOF, try using his pre-puberty son as a test pilot for said Metal Gear, imprisioning his wife in a air-sealed space until she suffocated, because she send their son to America to keep him from being a test pilot, defect back from XOF to the Boss and mutate a parasite Mother Base was infected with so it became extremly dangerous and killed several of the soldiers working for Diamond Dogs (or more acurately did the whole mind control trick some parasites can do to have their first host killed and then eaten by birds so they can spread further over them, meaning Venom had to mercy kill them before the infection could spread) intending to sell it as a bio weapon to another faction affiliated with XOF and through all of it he acted as if he were the victim and did nothing wrong. Then there's Skull Face, the XO of the before mentioned XOF unit. His masterplan is to wipe the english language from the face of the earth by unleashing a bio weapon that would kill everyone speaking the language (it makes sense in context ) and during the chaos after that establish a new nuke econnomy under his control. Apart from that he also has a very sadistic streak that lead to him adding some pretty disturbing torture both phisically and emotionally under his belt. Edited October 25, 2015 by Edgedancer 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 Josh from Retail holds the dubious distinction of being the only character who has not committed a heinous crime to make it onto this list. Spoilers for the strip follow. Josh joins the strip as seasonal help assistant manager Marla hires for the holidays. After interviewing dozens of lackluster candidates, one of whom said she could work "anytime….as long as it's on Tuesday. And I can't be out after 5 PM," Josh's full availability and enthusiasm for retail work drew her in. Unfortunately, when she called one of his previous managers for a reference, the manager called Josh "the perfect employee….in every miserable way." Marla soon discovered what that meant. Being one of the few employees to actually read the employee handbook, Josh took it upon himself to remind his coworkers of the rules every step of the way. At first, he remained well away from the ATTD list, making nothing more than a nuisance of himself. His zeal for the rules did veer into creepy territory when he reminded Marla that her hemline was too short, but she quickly set him straight by pointing out that Grumbel's hadn't updated their rules since the 1940s…..and that if he ever looked at her hemline again, "I will break your glasses while they're still on your face!" It seemed she could keep him in line. Years later, Marla is finally appointed to store manager when Stuart, the store manager, becomes district manager. Since Stuart liked Josh and no one else wants the job, Marla makes Josh her assistant. His reign of terror begins when he points out that Marla is two minutes late one day, and only grows each time Marla makes a sarcastic remark about corporate policies. "Corporate knows what they're doing." "Of course it's fair that we have to work on Thanksgiving." "Your negative attitude is what's holding you back." He refuses to cover for Marla on a conference call, throwing her under the bus instead. When Marla decides to use positive reinforcement instead of threatening to fire anyone who doesn't meet corporate quotas for the week, Josh muses to himself that "[she's] not weak, just sad." It's hard to say which event suffices as a better Moral Event Horizon, but there are two: The first is when Cooper is promoted to stockroom supervisor and Josh uses a few stray remarks to taunt Cooper over how badly the company treats him in an effort to get him to quit. The second is when he interviews for a job at Delman's, Grumbel's competitor, and lies about being made an offer to bilk the company for a raise. Even when the truth comes to light, Josh gloats to Marla about how pathetic she is and how he's going to get away with what he did. Although he's put in his two week notice, Marla fires him on the spot and screams until he leaves her office, yelping all the way. Let this be a lesson to you all: It doesn't take murder, rape, or other heinous crimes to make someone a despicable, irredeemable excuse for a human being. Everyday evil can be just as bad as the stuff of legends. 3
Zathoth Posted December 29, 2015 Posted December 29, 2015 As a person who hates teachers: Umbridge. Straff and Sadeas are on that list too... Oh, to subvert the entire topic XD My favorite manga/anime Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (Im not giving up until at least one of you picks it up) has Dio Brando, he burns the main characters dog, poisons his father, turns into a vampire, feeds on people like they were cattle (when asked how many people he have eaten he answers with "Do you remember how many breads you have eaten in your life?") promises a woman to not touch her child, turns the woman into a vampire so that she eats her child instead, his sheer charisma brainwashes people into worshiping him, when that doesnt work he puts a fleshbud into their skull to do the brainwashing instead. Thing is his charisma works through the fourth wall, I love every second he is on screen, he is just so entertaining to watch. 1

Observer Posted December 30, 2015 Posted December 30, 2015 Johan from Monster. As the titular Complete Monster, he has earned his place on this list several times over. Johan is an exploration of what it takes to make a Card-Carrying Villain. His spare time is spent bringing the story of the Farmer and the Viper to life, being adopted and murdering his parents. The list of messed up crap he's pulled includes countless cases of Mind Rape, non-magical and not-supernatural mind you, talking a few dozen children into killing themselves in some kind of messed up game, telling a kid to head into the red light district in search of their mom, and working to turn every single idealist or good person he comes across into either a broken wreck or a psychopath. And the worst bit is that he doesn't die. 3
Stormgate he/him Posted January 12, 2016 Posted January 12, 2016 The Daleks. More specifically, Davros. He tried to destroy reality. Every reality. Daleks want to destroy every living thing that is non-Dalek. The Daleks know one emotion: hate, although it could be argued that they also feel fear. Oh my. The Daleks are Epics. 2

Observer Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 (edited) The Anomaly from Undertale. Going with the most common path and interpretation. As a choice-based game, this obviously can change depending on the person. The Anomaly is an absurdly powerful entity with the ability to control time. Its usual pattern of behavior in the story is to open very kindly, helping others and generally being everybody's best friend. But the moment things line up perfectly and it is given any reason to believe that people can't get any happier than they are now, it will use its control of time to put everyone back to square one, and will proceed to genocidally murder every living character you love until literally nobody is alive anymore. And in the vast majority of cases, they don't enjoy it. They've spent a lot of time helping all these people, it's not fun to kill them. But they've done everything else there is to do. The number of ways to get a bigger and better happy ending have all dried up, so now it's time to explore the ways everything can go horribly wrong. They don't hurt these people because they enjoy it. The Anomaly commits genocide because it can. And because it can, it has to. The thought of not knowing what would happen is just too difficult to bear. The Anomaly is a partnership between the Player, and an entity called Chara. Chara was kind of horrible while they were alive, but the game takes place well after they died, and for the most part what little is left of Chara stays quiet and does nothing. In the best ending, they even help a little bit at the very end to secure a happy ending. But if you remind them of what they were like in life? If you get curious, and wonder what would happen if you hurt all of your friends, now that you're out of happy endings to explore? Chara becomes a demonic sociopath, urging you onward. Whether you're faced with best friends, children, or a true hero, Chara is always there to keep you determined. Reloading your save and trying to kill them all before they get away. The further you go, the more you teach Chara that they were right all along. Capacity equals necessity, and doing everything you can no matter how horrible is the way to go. When everything is said and done, most players try to back out, when Chara asks them to take the final step and brick the game. Some, because they really didn't enjoy killing everyone and just did it out of curiosity. Others, because they want to try killing Chara. Either way, the Player goes the same way everybody else who works with Chara does. The game crashes, Chara takes up residence, and the happy ending is permanently replaced by Chara taking over. tl;dr the kind of murderous sociopath that applies the logic of a video game to their life, stealing everything not nailed down and killing everyone they know just because it's something they can do. ecohansen Posted February 15, 2016 Posted February 15, 2016 The Red Death from Poe. Read it way too young, and it gave me nightmares for a year.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted March 4, 2016 Posted March 4, 2016 Deadpool spoilers: Francis. Great Noodly One, if you've seen the movie (which I assume you have, if you've opened this spoiler) then you know what I'm talking about. Every time he appeared onscreen, he earned another spot on my personal ATTD list, so by the end he had like 12 entries all to himself. The recruiter had about 10. Because storm that guy, preying on people at rock bottom.
