Delightful Posted November 29, 2015 Posted November 29, 2015 Definitely. Listening to angsty music helps too. Simple Plan had some teen angst classics like "Welcome to My Life" and "I'm Just a Kid."wow. So much angst. So the end of just a kid reminded me of the end of still alive.
Orlion Blight he/him Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 The 90s and thereabouts was a good decade for angst. Much like how the 80s are a good decade for silliness 3
Guest Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Thank you for posting the Smashing Pumpkins and The Offspring. We were so tragic
Briar King Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I had all those 90's CDs. I loved being a teenager then with my 15's in my Cherrokee and Cavalier. Many of my neighbors sure didn't like it though! 2
Mistrunner Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I can't deal with life right now. It's not working right. 5

Mistrunner Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 What's going on? Just- school, mostly. I've got some really bad teachers and a whole lot of work piled up.*hugs**hugs back* Thanks. 2

Just remember that school is going to end sooner than you think. Focus on the task you're on, and then the next, until it's over and you're one step closer to graduation. And it might also be cathartic to go to Imgflip and make some Terrible Teacher memes. Need a pug?

Guest Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Perhaps a bit of Smashing Pumpkins would help?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 Hmmm...I can't post a picture at the moment, but I can tell you what Bruce did when he helped us pick out a Christmas tree. When we got to the lot, he smelled the trees immediately. Mind you, he's from Arizona, so he may as well have been smelling the scents of an alien planet. He strained at the leash, pulling me from tree to tree so he could smell everything. He'd paw at my legs every so often so I could lift him into my arms and he could see the trees up close from a different vantage. There were some loud noises, though. When one of the employees started up a chainsaw, Bruce panicked and stumbled back a few steps; you could almost hear him thinking "HOLY WIFFLE BALLS WHAT WAS THAT?" He got a little cold, so I tucked him into my coat as they tied the tree to the top of the car. He had fun, though. When we got home, he rushed to tell my mom all about his adventure. 2

Voidus Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 So got payed today which meant I could make an appointment with the doctors and they didn't kick me out for drug seeking because surprisingly most doctors upon hearing that someone has a chronic pain problem don't immediately think they're lying and kick them out, they actually listen and try to help.So long story short, problem sorted and I can stop hyperventilating. 4

I bet they have much better methods of recognizing drug junkies than by the symptoms you describe to them Anyway, hurray for you! 1

Voidus Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 I bet they have much better methods of recognizing drug junkies than by the symptoms you describe to them Anyway, hurray for you! It's just this stupid paranoia I have that I'll lose the one thing that actually helps a bit, I take 1 script maybe once every 6 months so I know there's no way that could be recognized as being a junkie or anything it's just this stupid remnant of my anxiety that won't go away. But feeling better now and exams are over so it doesn't really matter if it makes me a bit groggy either I can just enjoy not being in pain. So glad you got what you needed! Me too, now I can focus on what really matters. Making insane WHOOCs of the redeemed ladies of Oregon kicking some annoying Epic butt. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted November 30, 2015 Posted November 30, 2015 When you're cold, wet, and depressed is not the time to watch video testimonies about the Stolen Generations of the Australian Aboriginals. Storming colonial racists. Think that just because your lot was the first to figure out how to kill other people with tiny pellets of metal and smallpox you're so much better than everyone else... 1

If you want some devastating material that hits a little closer to home, you might also like Thomas King's The Inconvenient Indian. Great Noodly One. I'm glad I read it, and I'll gladly recommend it to anyone (especially if they're American or Canadian) but yikes, it's depressing. 1

Just once, just once, I want to hear about a native culture that existed in peace with European settlers for hundreds of years of harmony. Just once. Is that so much to ask, humanity? That you be capable of living with different-colored humans for a few measly centuries without brutally murdering each other? Sigh. Thanks for the book recommendation. 1

This is why none of the aliens in the galaxy want to talk to you. This is why you don't have any friends. You're the weird kid who sits around muttering about killing things while pulling the legs of grasshoppers. 4

Thanks for the book recommendation. If I had one wish (and I didn't wish for world peace or something sensible), I would wish that Europe had been enclosed by an invisible barrier from around 1000 BCE, so that everywhere else could grow in relative peace. 4
