I tried not to, I tried to focus on other things, but I couldn't handle the pressure. I started reading New Spring. But I decided I'm going to take my time and read a chapter a day

@Oversleep if I wanted naked women in my reading I'd be heading back to WOT or start on GOT.

I'm not sure what you mean. Vin was left only in her underwear (a shirt) which she then lost between being freed and the end of the fight. That's what the book says.

There's a difference between naked women and naked women. I appreciate that Brandon doesn't go into detail. Just that it is is ok. GoT loves to go into the details.

Yeah, Terry Goodkind's books bothered me a bit with how much detail he went into at times too, though it made some of the scenes far more tragic and powerful.  And then GoT just ignored all bounds of morality and decency and threw in anything GRRM felt would shock people.

I'm pretty sure the text had her in her underwear the entire time and she showed up at Clubs shop in her skivvies, which became part of the joke about her not understanding why the guys thought it was indecent to be in her underwear when it was no more revealing than her normal outfit, so unless she was walking around naked prior to working with Kelsier she was never naked. Even the annotations show during the second time she is in her underwear that even he couldn't make her naked since she was only 17 and thus underage.

I ended up really enjoying Age of Assassin by Barker. I tried reading The Grim Company by Luke Scull. It was like a Joe Abercrombie fantasy book, but didn't have the humor to bring it balance and I threw in the towl today. I will have to find something to read until Tuesday when the U.S. physical copy of The Court of Broken Knives by Spark is released (a book with a lot of positive buzz that I am excited about).

Okay. We completely misunderstood each other.

You're talking of the fight when Vin killed Shan and I though of the one when she was imprisoned in Kredik Shaw. Now it makes sense.

Yeah, I had it down as when she saved him. The Kredik Shaw one was just part of the bigger scene of Vin escaping from the dungeon with no Allomancy and a naked eunuch and Elend just happens to arrive to 'save' her.

I decided to reread probably Glen Cook's most obscure book called A Matter of Time. It is a stand alone that is very unique and hard to describe; judging from various reviews it seems like a lot of people are not big fans of it. Personally I think it is brilliant and I am enjoying the reread thus far.

Give me/us a update if he reads from Thorn of Emberlain please.

He didn't! But what he did read was really nice (partly because he had a pleasant reading voice). It was part of a short story coming out in an anthology in October.

Also got a book signed. Decided against asking about writing progress though, since that's just rude.

I began a rereading of ASOIAF, I really love Jaime.

I've only read the first two, but I'm kind of desperate to start book 3

Book 3 is really good, 4/5 are no so good, except Jaime chapters those are awesome.

Did you read them by book order or chronological order?

I honestly think 4 is underrated.  it isn't perfect, but I thought it was pretty fun, honestly.  5 is kind of a drag though

Never been a great Jaime fan, but since I've never seen things from his POV, I'm going to withhold judgement

I began hating Jaime, now I love him.:P

@Draginon@Dunkum I have the edition where books 4 and 5 are together, with the chapters in chronological order, so I don't know which chapters are from book 4 and which ones from book 5.

I tried a version of that, where they provide you a list and you sort of have to switch between one big 1000 page book and another as you get to them.  it was kind of annoying, and I found it harder than just reading the split versions, possibly because it increased the gaps between consecutive character chapters, so it felt even slower than the publication order read.

@rmmateus you get Jaime's PoV starting in book 3 and it goes a long way towards making him likable.

That's good to know, I look forward to it now. The only character I've really disliked so far is Stannis.

I agree it's even slower, this time I'll try reading the split version, maybe that way I like it more.

I've never heard of that edition. I actually have a notes on what the recommended reading should be if it was 1 book as planned and you have no idea how much flipping I have to do when I do get to that point.

I've never heard of it either. I just got mine on kindle because I can't bear to read my editions in portuguese. Here in Portugal they divided the 5 books in 20 tiny ones. It's awful

I'm glad I live in a country that isn't afraid to publish a big book. It's crazy to me that you have to pay for the same book multiple times just to get it all. And people complain more about DLC and micro transactions.
