Rand's purpose as ta'veren was fulfilled and the Pattern doesn't need him anymore. I guess it's natural that the three were no longer ta'veren. And it's the Pattern that chooses what to weave and what to leave out, so, without need for uniting threads, Rand, Mat and Perrin just became normal threads. That's what I think

But even so. There's got to be some sort of reward. And Rand can no longer channel, there's got to be some compensation. He still has a channeler's lifespan, though

In The Gathering Storm Rand said: “Cadsuane,” he said softly, “do you believe that I could kill you? Right here, right now, without using a sword or the Power? Do you believe that if I simply willed it, the Pattern would bend around me and stop your heart? By . . . coincidence?”. This might be a clue to the pipe thing. And when he met Tuon there was that bad vibe coming from him and then when he appeared in Towers of Midnight there was a new vibe. I think these might indicate that there was something special, really special, about Rand.

Sheriam was near the top of the Black Ajah hierarchy. Galina was second and look what happened. Remember Jarna Malari. She was at the very top and it ended badly. Being Black is not a good option. Alviarin may have dodged a bullet, but being the center of attention for the Forsaken + Shaidar Haran is not the best experience. Even being one of the Forsaken is not that good, unless you're the Dark One's favorite. And even then you might fall from grace in the blink of an eye. Being from a lighter Ajah is safer

I don't think Sheriam was having much fun after losing a few fingers. I'd be Brown. It's closer to my everyday life

Well, the conversation about the weak girls may have taken place later in the series, as it's an issue often debated, but I'm almost sure it was Jorin din something in The Shadow Rising who said it. At least she started it. And I completely agree that a movie would not be proper. If they had a series with around 20 episodes each season, one season per book would probably be enough.

The Shadow Rising, when Nynaeve and Elayne are on their way to Tanchico. At the time of the Aiel War there were four Sea Folk Aes Sedai (excluding Zemaille, who was an Accepted at the time). Two of them were well over 200 years old. And they were all Brown. But when Alviarin encounters them it is suggested that there are only three (including Zemaille). It may be that the oldest ones died since.

Prince of Thorns was probably one of the worst books I've ever read. But because I'm a little crazy I'm still going to read the rest of the trilogy. But I guess it's one of those books that you either love it or you hate it

In New Spring it's mentioned that Cadsuane assaulted an Amyrlin. And it's all explained in The Wheel of Time Companion

I was not referring to Siuan. Cadsuane kidapped an Amyrlin (Myriam Copan) and "taught" her a few things. When Myriam returned to the Tower she became a strong Amyrlin. Siuan was never meant to be a puppet because she was elected for her skills. Note: Cadsuane was only 53 years old when she did this. It kind of shows how badass she is. To stay on topic: Jordan's Cheyenne Raiders is a great insight on what will be the Aiel. I strongly recommend it.

Rand's burden was much heavier than Elend's, and Elend was much more predisposed to Tindwyl's teachings because he wanted to be a better king. Rand was more problematic because he was the only one that could save the world, he was becoming mad, and he distrusted Aes Sedai. Cadsuane had it more difficult, but I don't think she did a really bad job. After all, she transformed a puppet of the Hall into a strong Amyrlin. She problem was Rand all along.

Me too. I was just thinking of that scene today and it really shows how influential Nynaeve can be.

Yes, Tindwyl reminded me a lot of Cadsuane. As for loving and understanding, sure. Cadsuane is a little too harsh
