Melechesh - Secrets of Sumerian Sphynxology.

Melechesh is probably a top 5 band (along with Black Sabbath (RIP Ozzy!), Judas Priest, Vader, and my all time favorite band—Iron Maiden) for me and I rarely see people talk about it even in the metal communities.

It’s some mixture of black, thrash, and oriental metal, and is themed around ancient Sumer.

It absolutely sounds otherworldly. The guitars and vocals sound like some ancient dark rituals. It’s dope.

Every once in a while the YouTube algorithm absolutely hits it out of the park.

@Edema Rue I can't put my finger on why, but I think you'd like this one. Hope I'm not wrong!

And I've been craving an ambient album like this for a while, I think. This is my favorite kind of film score.

Wait, so I actually really really did. It had such a cool vibe and the lyrics are honestly my exact train of thought every time I go hiking on my own (which is almost daily).

Listening to Elio by Elio Mei on repeat. Literally in the hundreds as to how many times I've heard it by this point.

Constant music and audio book listerer here:

This moring I gave A Night At The Opera a spin. I have heard that Mr. Sanderson listens to music as he writes, especially that he wrote the battle of Kaladin and Szeth to Daft Punk. I feel as if "The Prophet's Song" aff that is almost about an alternate version of the Stormlight series leads of the first half, but I do get that this is just the essential motiffs of "religious epic" in English.

I'm developing an ever-increasing appreciation for Kasane Teto.

Spoiler

Classic song. Love this version.

YouTube Recommended gem. The janky OG voice gives it charm.

I really like what KØTA's doing with Teto. The above two are just my favorites; go check out the rest of his stuff!

And finally, one of my favorite Yorushika songs:
