Truthless of Shinovar he/him Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Also, YKYASW when you start drawing connections between Legend of Zelda and the Cosmere. I mean, Hyrule has three "goddesses" that literally have the attributes of Wisdom, Courage, and Power, so they're kinda Shards. Not to mention that the Triforce is like their godmetals, and the three springs found in Skyward Sword could be their liquid investiture... and all those reoccurring characters could be world hoppers!! I've probably been thinking about this too much 6

I even considered making a thread for trying to apply cosmere rules to other stories. 1
Wander89 he/him Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 When you start noticing similarities in every tv show! Just watched The Dragon Prince and I swear they are fighting on the Shattered Plains and just fought and took the heart of a titan. 2
Ghanderflaffle she/her Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 YKYASW you misread "Color Guard" as "Cobalt Guard" and almost walk up and ask the girl where she got the jacket from. When you use Sanderson books as examples. 2
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 When someone says 'Splinter' or 'Shard' and you freak out. Screaming every time the progress bar on SA4 goes up. When you stub your toe and yell "RUST AND RUIN!" When your Kahoot! name is cosmere related. When you are told to do something and mutter 'Honor is dead but I'll see what I can do." When every somebody says chivalry is dead but you correct them because clearly honor is the dead one. 1

I had a similar experience where someone in the band had a sweater that said TUBA on the front, and I thought “I didn’t know TUBA had sweaters...” and then I saw someone else wearing one that said TRUMPET. 7

OH MY GOODNESS TUBA SWEATERS THIS SOUNDS AMAZING I WANT ONE! You know you’re a Sanderfan when you get bored during a ward party and draw this on the table since they had paper tablecloths. (No, this was not from memory. I used the Coppermind as reference for most of these.) Spoiler Edited April 17, 2019 by Rebecca 8
GhoX she/her Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 YKYASW you're falling asleep in class so you slowly take out your pen and draw a bronze feruchemical symbol on your wrist. And you instantly feel like you just took a caffeine hit. 3
Bookish Ocelot she/her Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 YKYASW when your phone recognizes the word 'Kaladin' 3
whattheHoid she/her Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 (edited) YKYASW you phone not only recognizes the word Kaladin, but it assumes you mean to use the word Renarin right after. Proof, that I Hoid, belong with the two hottest Radiants in the Cosmere, Kaladin and Renarin! Edited April 17, 2019 by whattheHoid 5
Ethan_sedai he/him Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 (edited) When you have a shirt that says “I survived AP calculus” on the back, and you tell your friend who is also a sanderfan “I am the Survivor of Calculus.” And then he responds “whoa! I want to see those algebra scars running down your arms!” Edited April 18, 2019 by Ethan_Sedai 14
Winds Alight she/her Posted April 20, 2019 Posted April 20, 2019 (edited) When you watch Life of Brian and during the stoning scene ("Jehova, Jehova!") in the beginning start to think you want to run around on Roshar shouting "Elithanathile! Elithanathile!" while wildly waving your exposed left hand. Edited April 20, 2019 by Winds Alight 3

Wander89 he/him Posted April 21, 2019 Posted April 21, 2019 Bought the UK 10th anniversary Mistborn hardbacks and gave the paperbacks to my little sister to read. Little does she know the heartbreak to ensue..... 4

Little does she know the heartbreak to ensue..... My advice is that after she reads the first book, tell her that you'll see Kelsier again. This is technically true, but it will leave her hoping for a happily ever after. Sanderson doesn't do happily ever afters. Also, be sure to be in the room when they finish "The hero of ages." Trust me, the reaction is to die for.
whattheHoid she/her Posted April 22, 2019 Posted April 22, 2019 (edited) When your in the grocery store and find marinara sauce made by Rao and think, I didn't know Raoden could cook! Don't believe me....here...it will spirit you away! Edited April 22, 2019 by whattheHoid 4

I wish someone had told me all this when I read them for the first time and I wouldn't have been heartbroken for years!
