mail-mi he/him Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Are you fine to wait to introduce the rebel leader until the demonstration, or would you prefer to post before that? I was planning on it. The ability to fart on command? No, an idiot that doesn't know he's actually leading a rebellion. He just likes being pessimistic and storming Euphoria won't let him. Mr. Meh's cynical older brother, who always told his younger sibling that he was too full of sunshine and optimism? Nope.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 But that would put him at a near-Metronome level of power! No, Kobold. With an ability like that, he would be even more powerful than Metronome. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 No, Kobold. With an ability like that, he would be even more powerful than Metronome. You're the GM. Put an end to this over-poweredness! 1
+Slowswift Posted April 17, 2015 Posted April 17, 2015 Four pages ago... So I've been having really weird dreams lately, last night I dreamed that a bunch of us met up IRL and it turned out that Kobold was secretly the King of Denmark and he paid us all to write the RP full time. It was the best dream ever. Also Edgedancer kept eating limes for some reason. I totally didn't just dream last night that we were all stuck in a building with various Sanderson characters and couldn't get out because someone flooded the ground floor with skittles. Calamity, guys, I've barely been here two weeks. Storms take this thread and everyone in it. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 17, 2015 Author Posted April 17, 2015 You're the GM. Put an end to this over-poweredness! I would, but Corvallis will need a hero to take down Iconoclast. 1
Blackhoof Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 I'll hold you to it Yeah I noticed that, it doesn't seem to want to translate 'hound' although since Nighthound is a name it should probably still be in English anyway as you say. Oh and if anyone knows how to ask whether or not there are eels in a hovercraft in another language I'll be much obliged. In Firefight they refer to Puños de Fuego as that- it means "fists of fire" in spanish. So that sets a precedent for Epic names remaining untranslated in different languages (although obviously you would need to transliterate them where a language doesn't use latin characters) like normal names. I would, but Corvallis will need a hero to take down Iconoclast. might have to change his weakness then I'm actually looking forward to when he dies. Nothing satisfies me more than building up a terrifying villain for him to finally get his comeuppance. 3

Nothing satisfies me more than building up a terrifying villain for him to finally get his comeuppance. I could be wrong, but my current theory is that Epic powers give them symbolic empowerment over their fears (i.e., the ability to deflect things and outrun mistakes to compensate for Newton's fear of disappointing others). I have no. earthly. idea how the ability to create cannibalistic zombies grants empowerment over a fear of flatulence. Me neither. 2

I'm still not entirely sure how it grants empowerment over a fear of organized religion. I'm beginning to think Iconoplast had some issues to work out long before Calamity peaked over the horizon. 1

I wish I could turn him into a zombie and make him eat all his friends! And…uh…all of my friends. Just eat everyone." "Man, that guy farting on the bus freaks me out! I wish I could turn him into a zombie and make him eat all the people and sandwiches on this bus! Including mine, I guess…." I can't decide which one is stranger. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 And new Funtimes post up. (We shall require a new thread soon, won't we?)

Me neither. to be fair, i am not sure if i subscribe to that theory ahaha how does sourcefield's electricity ward off kool-aid? If its as conductive as water that is the opposite power you'd want, i think. I'm still not entirely sure how it grants empowerment over a fear of organized religion. I'm beginning to think Iconoplast had some issues to work out long before Calamity peaked over the horizon. oh yes haha, the poor guy was falling off the deep end long before Calamity. he has had a rough time in life so his natural coping mechanism is cannibalism and sadism 1
Kobold King he/him Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 (edited) Only 7 more posts before Question 10. MUAHAHA! The One Who Ate Nine will have this thread yet! EDIT: Darn it, I messed up the number by posting. Edited April 18, 2015 by Kobold King
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 MUAHAHA! The One Who Ate Nine will have this thread yet! EDIT: Darn it, I messed up the number by posting. You fools! Ten is one of the few numbers who has not sworn allegiance to the One! Ten is the very image of Savior Zero, with the Prophet leading the way! Why do you think the Financier, insane humble bearer of this wisdom, takes precisely ten seconds to return to life after resetting the clock by ten minutes? Ten shall have the next thread. And after that, his consort, Eleven. This will be a good couple of months weeks days. 4
Voidus Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 By the time we hit Questions 20 we'll probably be going through a thread every hour or so 2

TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted April 18, 2015 Author Posted April 18, 2015 When we hit enough members the thread count will look like this: Maybe we should stop posting so many ponies and jokes…. …okay, okay, I'll be serious. I'll just get used to posting more threads. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Maybe we should stop posting so many ponies and jokes…. …okay, okay, I'll be serious. I'll just get used to posting more threads. Ever thought about posting a screenshot of the "lock thread" option you use? I confess, I've been dying of curiosity about what the moderators' controls look like for ages now. 1
Blackhoof Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 And i changed his weakness a while ago to be just christian crosses. That is his weakness because he fears being wrong about God, subconsciously. He lost his faith and renounced his pastorship after his wife was raped and killed in front of him years ago. The guys who did it got off, so he lost his faith in law and order as well, and his already libertarian views became a more extreme anarchist, anti-statist philosophy. He had a psychotic break, and hunted down and killed the perpetrators, and then killed the judge and every jury member that had acquitted them. He was arrested and sentenced to death, but then Calamity rose, and a year later, he manifested powers on the eve of his execution. He chose to have the warden and prison guards as his "last meal", and he has eaten nothing but human since. He ghoulified the prisoners and led a prison break, destroying much of the small town he had been held in. But subconsciously, he is scared of retribution. If god existed, he would be punished for what he has done, and crosses remind him of this. His MO plays into this- he often avoids being identified for long, shifting into a different face all the time, playing hide and seek in every new location. If no-one cam find him, even god, he can't be punished, he can't face judgment, in a way. This is also subconscious. 1

You're still awesome for posting the screenshot. Now I can die knowing that there isn't a really cool-looking rainbow mod-button that I've been missing out on. 5

The closest you'll get is this: ….which, admittedly, isn't very close to a sparkly rainbow button at all. 4
Voidus Posted April 18, 2015 Posted April 18, 2015 Hmmmm... it's definitely an issue we should bring up with Chaos, maybe he can fix it in the next site update? 4

I would not object to a sparkly rainbow mod-button. I would be the last person in the world to object to that. 3
