TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted December 28, 2018 Posted December 28, 2018 I recently ran into a guy I knew from my parents’ church. The awkward teen I remembered had become a young man who looks a lot like Maui. I’m not the only one who had noticed. Turns out, he cosplays as Maui to visit sick kids in the hospital. 10
Nathrangking he/him Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 I met with a highly successful alumnus of my law school to learn a bit about his choice of practice area. I was worried that he would reject my request for a mentorship. When I asked he said yes. 4
Ammanas Posted January 2, 2019 Posted January 2, 2019 (edited) Just received a advance reader copy of what might be my favorite ongoing series! After reading and loving the first book of the series I follow the author on Facebook. The author (Brian Durfee) which seems to be a nice chap, offered me a adavance copy in exchange for a honest review. I still am keeping my preorder on it because I want to support authors. Here is a picture of it (e-copy was sent): Edited January 2, 2019 by Ammanas 8
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 Today was my birthday. Yesterday, while I was away from my desk, my coworkers decorated it. Streamers across the cubicle walls, pom-poms on the edge of the shelf and on my computer monitor, felt animal stickers—it was pretty impressive, especially for an hour's work. Today, I got tons of birthday wishes, plus a few emailed cards featuring pugs. After work, I went out for dinner, came home, walked Bruce, and then had some popcorn and hot chocolate after opening the presents from my family. All in all, it was a good birthday. And since this time last year I was in a pretty bad work environment and didn't feel I had the funds to treat myself at all, this feels even more special. 11

+Hoiditthroughthegrapevine he/him Posted January 13, 2019 Posted January 13, 2019 Just saw this animated visualization of the sin and cos of θ as θ sweeps out the full 360 degrees of a circle, and it's amazingly beautiful (spoilered below): Spoiler It's from the Wikipedia page about Sine, and I could watch it endlessly repeat for longer than I care to admit. 7

Steeldancer he/him Posted January 16, 2019 Posted January 16, 2019 I haven't commented in here in a while, but I think this deserves a mention. First weekend of April, Saturday afternoon, I'll be singing in General Conference! I've known for a while that it was a possibility that my choir could be doing that, but now I've finally had in confirmed and I am THRILLED! 8

Of course, i dont know what face is yours, but I’ll hear you!
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 My place of employment wants to send me to a national conference in Washington DC this year! And on a much smaller note, I’ve shaken up my music rut with the discovery that rockabilly is awesome. 5
Draginon he/him Posted January 17, 2019 Posted January 17, 2019 Kind of late on this What I got for Christmas: Not really anything from my mom since we did the whole vacation thing and used purchases on Black Friday as presents. My dad got me a crystal Oswald the Lucky Rabbit while we were at Disney World. My sister got me a Pop of The Neighbor (Hello Neighbor) and Kingdom Hearts Mickey, MST3K Volume 1, two of the Doctor Who classic serials I'm still trying to get, Game of Death (Bruce Lee film), The Ticket (a film about a blind guy getting his sight back), Star Wars Epic Collection The New Republic 4 and, this one surprised me since I had barely added it to my Amazon wishlist before going on vacation so I was shocked she got it, the illustrated edition of Game of Thrones. Also got myself a couple things for Christmas. They were the final two parts of Digimon Adventure tri, the slipcover for MST3K Volume 31 (it comes in a tin so I'd rather not ruin it) and MST3K Volume 9 (technically not Christmas but it came during the slew of stuff from my sister) 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 23, 2019 Posted January 23, 2019 For reasons that amount to “long, profanity-inducing story,” I need to find a new apartment before the end of February. I sent out multiple viewing requests over the weekend...and heard back from three of them today. 1
Silverblade5 he/him Posted January 26, 2019 Posted January 26, 2019 Might have a new job by the end of the week. Pros: Building relevant experience. Cons: Taking a pay cut. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted January 28, 2019 Posted January 28, 2019 I got approved for my new apartment! 4

It's slightly larger than my current place, and rent is $5 less per month than what I'm currently paying, so that's nice. Not a huge difference at all, but it's still nice knowing I won't be spending more. Which is something I'd been prepared to do, but it's nice to know I currently won't have to. Wish my parents seemed to care more, though. You guys and the coworkers I've only known about a year have shown three times the excitement my parents have. 4
