Curiosity he/him Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 The modern system of Bacteria (Eubacteria), Archaea, and Eukarya, I presume? Recall the four principle ingredients of crepes and tell us a favorite topping (outside of some Nutella+fruit combination).
Pestis the Spider she/her Posted October 24, 2015 Posted October 24, 2015 The modern system of Bacteria (Eubacteria), Archaea, and Eukarya, I presume? Recall the four principle ingredients of crepes and tell us a favorite topping (outside of some Nutella+fruit combination). Ehm. Flour, milk, eggs... that's all? What's the fourth one? Salt? But I wouldn't call it a principle ingredient. Oil for frying? Are we talking about strictly french crepes or crepes in general? And as for the other part, my favourite topping (or filling, actually) is quark with soured cream and sugar. Though the meat and mushroom ones are also good. Or sauerkraut and mushroom. Mmmm. In case I'm correct: WLIU, Name 15 countries in Africa.
little wilson she/her Posted October 25, 2015 Posted October 25, 2015 WLIU, Name 15 countries in Africa. Burundi, Sao Tome and Principe, Mauritius, Togo, Benin, Gabon, Cameroon, Tanzania, Malawi, Mozambique, Lesotho, Swaziland, Chad, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Equatorial Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, The Gambia, Liberia....I could keep going but I'll stop there. Name 15 African capitals (I don't think I've used that one yet)
Robinski he/him Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Still no takers? Okay, I'll have a go, but I won't get near 15... Nairobi; Kinshasa; Pretoria; Mogadishu; Lagos Monrovia; Harare; Cairo; - hopeless, but it's the best I can do.

We're almost there. xD
Trizee Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Tripoli (I think that's how you spell it) Adis Ababba
Young Bard he/him Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 Madagascar (I'm sure it's it has the same name)
Curiosity he/him Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Ouagadougou That brings it up to 12.
azninvasion99 he/him Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Rabat (Morocco) Think that is 13.
Pestis the Spider she/her Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 (edited) Madagascar (I'm sure it's it has the same name) Isn't Madagascar's capital something long that starts with A, and sound a little like Tenerife? xD Atatanariva? Atananariva? Atananarivo? Atatanarive? One of these or something similar? Or maybe not? I probably missed 5 letters. xD I only always remember it sounds like Tenerife (it probably doesn't, but oh well...) I'm so bad with capitals. Edited October 29, 2015 by Pestis the Spider
little wilson she/her Posted October 29, 2015 Posted October 29, 2015 Antananarivo is the capital of Madagascar, Pestis, so one of your guesses was correct. That puts the number to 13 (since Lagos isn't the capital of Nigeria), so I'll throw a couple more on: Kigali and Algiers. Sorry, I'd thought 15 would be fine. For the geography ones, I usually take what I can do and cut about 5-10 off. Um. Whoever wants can ask the next question. I'm worried I'll throw something out like the capitals of Oceanic countries next and if Africa was bad, that would be horrific.
Pestis the Spider she/her Posted October 30, 2015 Posted October 30, 2015 (edited) Antananarivo is the capital of Madagascar, Pestis, so one of your guesses was correct. Nah, I missed the first "n". Edited October 30, 2015 by Pestis the Spider
Titan Arum Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) Oh man, if I had seen this earlier I would have nailed the African capitals (Ouagadougou, has to be the worst place I've ever been...)! Abuja is the capital of Nigeria by the way. I'll take a stab at additional capitals... 1) Accra, Ghana 2) Lilongwe, Malawi 3) Dakar, Senegal 4) Windhoek, Namibia 5) Bamako, Mali 6) Niamey, Niger 7) N'Djamena, Chad 8) Juba, South Sudan 9) Khartoum, Sudan 10) Lome, Togo 11) Freetown, Sierra Leon 12) Conakry, Guinea 13) Nouakchott, Mauritania 14) Bissau, Guinea-Bissau 15) Port Louis, Mauritius 16) Djibouti, Djibouti 17) Yaounde, Cameroon 18) Malabo, Equatorial Guinea 19) Brazzaville, Republic of Congo 20) Kampala, Uganda 21) Not Sure, Mozambique 22) Not Sure, The Gambia 23) Not Sure, Lesotho 24) Not Sure, Swaziland 25) Not Sure, Burundi 26) Not Sure, Botswana 27) Not Sure...but it starts with a B, Central African Republic 28) L-something, Gabon 29) NOT Dar es Salaam...it was moved to somewhere more central, but I'm not sure where, Tanzania 30) Not Sure, Angola Since I was able to add 20 capitals to the list, I'll take a stab at the next question... WLIU, name three capitals from the so-called "Stan" countries. Edited November 2, 2015 by Titan Arum 2
Orlok Tsubodai Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 This I can do, I think. Kabul - Afghanistan Islamabad - Pakistan Tashkent - Uzbekistan (Model UN is occasionally useful! WLIU, name 5 Mongol Khans
Titan Arum Posted November 2, 2015 Posted November 2, 2015 (edited) This I can do, I think. Kabul - Afghanistan Islamabad - Pakistan Tashkent - Uzbekistan (Model UN is occasionally useful! WLIU, name 5 Mongol Khans Ahh Model UN! To finish the list: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan Almaty, Kazakhstan (Actually, it's Astana. Thanks for reminding me little wilson!!) Ashgabat, Turkmenistan Dushanbe, Tajikistan Edited November 3, 2015 by Titan Arum
little wilson she/her Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 Almaty, Kazakhstan Isn't it Astana? 1
Titan Arum Posted November 3, 2015 Posted November 3, 2015 (edited) Isn't it Astana? Ha. You're correct. They changed their capital a few years back...and now that I google it, a few years back really means 18 years back. I must be getting old when that time period is remembered as "a few years back". Titan Arum Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 [Double Post] I'm only making a double post because it's been several days since Orlok posed the last question. We, as a group, have no responses, other than the one answer we probably all know: Genghis Khan. Orlok, can you give us a new question? [/Double Post]
Orlok Tsubodai Posted November 9, 2015 Posted November 9, 2015 Sure - is naming 5 regiments of the British Army feasible? In terms of khans, other than Genghis, you could have had Ogedai, Guyuk, Mongke, Ariq-Boke, Kublai, and a large selection of their lesser known successors or minor khans. 1
Kasimir he/him Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 Sure - is naming 5 regiments of the British Army feasible? In terms of khans, other than Genghis, you could have had Ogedai, Guyuk, Mongke, Ariq-Boke, Kublai, and a large selection of their lesser known successors or minor khans. I could do that, with the caveat that most of those I know no longer exist; I had to memorise the order of battle w.r.t. the battle for Malaya and for Singapore, so stuff like the 14th Punjab Regiment which was part of the British Indian Army and fought with British forces in most of the theatres, would've later become part of the Pakistan Army, I believe. But sure, let me try anyway. From the historical British Army around WW2: 1. Cambridgeshire Regiment 2. Royal Norfolk Regiment 3. Suffolk Regiment 4. Gordon Highlanders 5. Manchester Regiment To avoid controversy, I've left out colonial forces like the Royal Malay Regiment and the 14th/16th Punjab, since the latter are usually reference historically as being of the British Indian Army. 1
Orlok Tsubodai Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I'd have allowed you the British Indian Army - even only because I have ancestors who served as officers in it! I wish we got to do things like memorising Orders of Battle for conflicts in school - we gloss over military history, and it really irks me. Anyway, it's your turn now Kas! 1

Ooh, awesome Alright then: name five pirate havens, either historical or current
Guest Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 For whatever reason, I know this one. 1. Treasure Island 2. Tortuga 3. Port Royal 4. St. Mary's Island 5. Algiers 6. Barataria Bay (because Treasure Island isn't real) Name eight different types of functions.
Elbereth she/her Posted November 10, 2015 Posted November 10, 2015 I'm just going to list them in order. Linear, quadratic, cubic, quartic, um... quintic? Okay then, rational, absolute value, sinusoidal, hm. Does inverse count? That's eight, but I'm not totally sure if that's what you're asking for.
Seonid he/him Posted November 11, 2015 Posted November 11, 2015 I'm late, but this is math, and I can't not answer it. (And since elbereth is unsure, I might as well ) Feel free to take the next one anyways, elbereth. Linear Polynomial Logarithmic Exponential Heaviside function Spherical besselfunctions sine function Dirac delta function
