Archer he/him Posted Friday at 12:57 AM Posted Friday at 12:57 AM (edited) MR77 Cycle Five: Manifest Destiny “I seem to be cursed. “At first, I thought I’d outlived my luck. Perhaps one has a finite amount per lifetime, and I’d used mine up over time. “Then I noticed it rubbed off on those around me. That’s the behaviour of a curse. “I think that’s why the Nightwatcher refuses to meet with me. She can’t stack a curse upon a curse. “Your colleague, the one who struck this bargain with me, wanted to know her secrets. I agreed to share in exchange for five items of interest.” Axies the Collector held Darak by the throat. “You told me you could finish the job. That you’d find me what I wanted, for a favour of your own. And yet all you’ve brought me is a shardblade.” Y and some unknown character stood nearby, eyes darting between the blue skinned demon and weapon on the ground. “Do you people know what these are? Do you know what was done to them? “If five is too difficult for you, we’ll amend it to one. There’s an item here more valuable than any other. Bring it to me, and I’ll give you what you seek.” He lifted Darak higher. “Well, not you. You’ve failed to meet expectations.” Axis snapped Darak’s neck. The other two sailors lunged for the shardblade. Y sliced their hand, which shriveled. The other sailor got its hilt, but took a fist to the face. Fearspren swarmed the fighters. The shardblade plunged into Y. Axies glowered. “They are not yours to wield.” From the amphitheater, Captain Pladel and her crew watched in horror as Axies tore the sailor limb from limb. When the deed was done, he gave them a bloody salute. “Bring me what I need,” he shouted. Axies skulked into the jungle, leaving the shardblade behind. And three bodies. Mint11 she/her Posted Friday at 01:17 AM Posted Friday at 01:17 AM gosh that was dramatic. I did not expect hoid to die. I'm guessing that the elims figured they were better off risking getting the shardblade, because they were worried we'd ex them all before they could kill all of us, or get all three rebukes? I don't know why another villager would go after the shardblade when hoid said he would. which means the shardblade is now in evil hands remaining players are me, TJ, hopper, coco, star I thought TJ was the last one, but considering this shardblade gambit I'm a little worried I was wrong about that in the case there are two elims: if the elims get in two kills and we ex e!TJ, then one elim and one villager will remain standing. they'll each vote each other and then the game will go to chance if we have three villagers then ideally, one person provides favor and the other two protect fellow villagers from a kill. I think that's our best strategy. I'd argue that I'm the most confirmed villager after pushing so hard for the TUC ex, and therefore the most obvious kill target. so I'd appreciate some protection. beyond that I'm not sure honestly who the second elim would be so I guess someone can use their best judgement? an elim cannot perform a kill (either via NK or shardblade) and roleblock at the same time now I'm just trying to figure out how the elims could counteract us if we all announce our actions in thread (to make sure exactly one person gives favor and two protect fellow villagers)... I have to think on that a little more before I'm totally sure this is the best way forward. of course this is all assuming that one person who can give favor and two people who can protect another player exist in this cycle 1

No, they win when the Third Rebuke is issued. Vote Count: TJ (1): Mint (If you're going to vote for TJ, please make it obvious. It's hard to spot their name sometimes.) Edit: I'm adjusting the rules to make it so players who are the last person standing win. As it stood, they'd be automatically exed by RNG, which feels unfair to a solo elim or neutral. |TJ| he/him Posted Friday at 01:28 AM Posted Friday at 01:28 AM oooooffff, yikes that was a bad read. I'm okay going over if you need to sort me out. Just give me the 48 hours to solve the game now, and hopefully I'm right in my legacy reads. I think I'm looking at Hopper a bit, because of their pop-in timings. But yeah, it's wide open now it could be anyone. Another re-read pending!

coco.pudding she/they Posted Friday at 05:05 AM Posted Friday at 05:05 AM Since he was pushing so hard to defend TUC I feel like it has to be TJ right? But I also feel like e!TJ is smarter than that, and would know that as soon as TUC flipped elim he would be the next target…so idk. I’m gonna vote on him for now but that may change later.
Mint11 she/her Posted Friday at 11:10 AM Posted Friday at 11:10 AM I think I may have made a wrong assumption earlier. it's possible that both the shardblade and the agreement with axies belonged to dead playeds and have now been retunlrned to the cargo hold. it would actually make a lot of sense for TUC to go for the shardblade @Archer how many rare items can be added to the cargo hold by using the ships manifest? is there a max number

Fair point, but if we exe v!TJ, Enmity will be at 2, which isn't too hard to come back from. At that point I think it will be easy to find the last (two?) elims.

|TJ| he/him Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago In simple terms, you essentially stated that you don't mind if we ML a player because we can survive the rebuke tonight. While that is correct, it is also a permanent +1 enmity which is a problem in the long run, and absolutely benefits the elims. *** I've been thinking - Grub confirmed to us that they did receive a 'you've been blocked' message by Archer, so this means TUC did block Grub truly. The only way he does that, and NOT submit the kill is if he knew and was absolutely certain that the kill was submitted by someone. This means that the reason why we didn't see the kill was indeed because it had been blocked by Mint. I guess they could have said they submitted and then forgotten to actually do so, but what are the chances. Which is why I think no-kill = v!Mint
Mint11 she/her Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago I don't think there are two elims but in the case there are, then we should get 2 favor this cycle I can take care of one. can anyone add another? I missed earlier that a 2nd rebuke causes a village death
coco.pudding she/they Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago 8 minutes ago, Mint11 said: I missed earlier that a 2nd rebuke causes a village death Wait so this is actually lylo if that happens Bc there’s five players left. Assuming even just one elim, if we misexe and the elims kill plus rebuke death they get parity and win I cannot give favor, I’ve been having terrible luck on items and used my one favor item last cycle. But I agree we should try to get two. In the meantime I’ll try to get the key or boast so I can add favor next cycle if we get there.
Archer he/him Posted 14 hours ago Author Posted 14 hours ago A beam of kaleidoscopic light burst from the jungle. It lit up the blue-skinned face of Axies, who stood before the roaring pillar of light. “Come, my precious spen. Come through and join me!” This round is now closed.
