Stardust She/Her Posted April 18 Posted April 18 Mabel stared at the House with contempt. It sure was fancy, wasn't it? Though perhaps fancy was too grand a word. Now, the house Mabel had worked at in her younger days... that was fancy. It had a huge overarching stoneway and a beautiful stained glass scene in each room... Shaking herself out of her reminiscing, Mabel eyed the room. There were several ornate chairs and fancy rugs in the room. Mabel snorted. That was the sign of true wealth. When you had nothing to spend your money on other than seven chairs that looked exactly the same. Besides, the chairs couldn't be all that good. Just because they looked fancy it didn't mean that they were comfy. Plus the food they had offered couldn't be all that good, especially if they had enough for all of them... Never mind all of that. Mabel was here, so she would try to make the best of things. Several of the other people who had congregated before the butler had let them in had already set off into the house. Mabel would join them. Gripping her cane, she set off deeper into the house.
Araris Valerian he/him Posted April 18 Author Posted April 18 As a small point of clarification, during Night 0, if I don't receive an exploration location from a player then I will randomly determine where they explore, and notify them of where they ended up looking.
Miss Fallen she/her Posted April 19 Posted April 19 The House felt wrong. K had been fine before entering, but now she had the oddest sensation. It was like before a performance, when she worried one of her yo-yos was missing. And yet, each time she counted, all of them were right where she stashed them in her pockets. The butler, whatever his name was, mentioned a kitchen and beds. It would be good to know where the kitchen was; snacks and water were a necessity. And maybe she could find an office- that’s where the good knickknacks would be. K pulled a black and gold splattered yo-yo out, then flicked it into a few trapeze variations to keep her fingers nimble. This was the kind of House you stayed alert in. And with that, K set off in to the left in search of a kitchen.

Verdance he/him Posted April 19 Posted April 19 (edited) Unrelated, Harley’s favorite playing card is the jack of diamonds. Harley creeps up the stairs, which are disappointingly solid and not creaky or unstable at all. They open into the center of a square room, hallways stretching out in three directions. He does his best to remember which direction the balcony was in compared to his current position and orientation in the house, and with scientific precision he sets out in a completely random direction. Araris Valerian he/him Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 The Night has ended! Day 1 will be posted shortly. 1
Araris Valerian he/him Posted April 19 Author Posted April 19 (edited) Day 1: A Locked House Mystery As the night wore on, the various groups eventually split up, each individual hoping to find some secret or treasure they could keep to themselves. And despite the rather long and straight hallways, once separated, the explorers didn't bump into each other the rest of the night. Somewhere in the house, an explorer turned to leave the room they were inspecting to find the butler's gift lying in the doorway. The explorer picked up the box and tucks it into their bag for safe keeping. Eventually, growing exhaustion overtook the exploratory urge compelling everyone, and across the House people began to settle in for the night. The well-prepared had sleeping bags, and just conked out on the floor wherever seemed out of the way. Some other folks nestled themselves into the corner of a room, while those fortunate enough to have found a bedroom took full advantage of the House's lavish quarters. Altogether, despite a few strange happenings, the unshared sentiment was that the House wasn't yielding the excitement it had promised from outside. Warren wandered back into the entrance hall, yawning, and waved to Randal, who was leaning over something in the corner. Randal was distracted and failed to notice, so Warren padded over to join the taller man. As he stepped closer, Warren turned, and Randall was struck immediately by the paleness of his friend's face. Then he noticed what had been occupying Warren's attention, and the color drained from him as well. A body lay there, evidently strangled to death, given the deep bruising present on its neck. As the other explorers trickled in, they each saw the body in turn, and a shocked silence prevailed over the entrance hall. Some time after everyone had gathered together, a rather stuffy voice spoke up. "My friends, I believe this is what they called a 'locked house mystery,'" Harley said. The secretary had donned a deerstalker hat, which made him reasonably convincing as a detective figure. "As our good friend Randal showed last night, the door doesn't open, and I at least was unable to find a single window large enough to leave from. Thus," and he swept his hand out grandly, "the killer must be one of us!" "Or the butler!" another voice chimed in. "It couldn't have been the butler!" someone else shouted. "The dead fellow's got marshmallow stains on his neck. Whoever the killer was, they had some s'mores with us last night." And then it was if a dam had burst for all the voices that began to speak up, each with their own thoughts on the situation. Harley tried to reassert his "expertise" to gain control of the conversation, but enough of a hubbub was building that his rather quiet voice was drowned out. The Haunt has begun! An unnamed friend was killed! He was an Innocent Explorer. Day 1 has begun, and will end at 8PM Pacific Time on Monday, April 20. There will be a majority execution this cycle. There is no vote minimum, and ties will be decided randomly. All GM PMs have been updated. The value of C, the chance of finding a clue from the pool of clues for the scenario the game is in, is 65%. StrikerEZ he/him Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Okay, so clearly we got scenario 3 and I’m the kandra, so you all can just go ahead and execute me now. The problem we’re facing right now is that no one knows squat about anything. Besides the elims and/or gun guy and/or kandra. Actually I think those are all just or’s. Anyway, I think our best course of action is to proceed as if this is a standard elim game until we get actual info proving otherwise. So, to start things off, I’m going to give a lovely poke vote to Frozen Mint to start us off. Someone’s gotta throw down the first vote.
Mystic He/Him Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I agree, for now it’s just a guess though. In addition to this, I suggest sharing where we explored so we can maybe guess until we know more. I don’t think we should share Gift Votes though, as depending on what scenario we’re in, that could be potentially game changing and we want them alive. I explored the Basement. After PMing a few people, I decided that that was the best place to be. And to add to the votes, Divergent Any other thoughts? I will say though that even though our exploration weights the game, it does not guarantee a specific scenario, and so it only gives us probabilities.
Wahrheitswächter He/Him Posted April 19 Posted April 19 Yeah, so finding out what Scenario we are playing will be quite dificult. Because neither our exploration nor the clues we find will be reliable. The Clues can be wrong and N0 exploration caims can be wrong. And I think whoever is the Elims/First Gun/Kandra could share wrong N0 ecploration to be purposefully misleading. I will say though that I have explored the Ground floor. Now I will poke vote Qian
Divergent He/Him Posted April 19 Posted April 19 I chose Upstairs for my exploration. It'll probably take a while before we figure out what scenario we're currently in, but I think there's something we could do with the exploration parts to speed up that process. From what I'm seeing, there are clues that are unique to specific scenarios, so perhaps we could coordinate something with that. Doc12
Wahrheitswächter He/Him Posted April 19 Posted April 19 @Divergent The problem with the Clues is that they are unreliable. Because there is a 35% percent chance to get a clue from another scenario. So even if you got one of the unique clues, you couldnt be sure of the scenario because the Clue can be wrong
Divergent He/Him Posted April 19 Posted April 19 5 minutes ago, Through the living Wahr said: @Divergent The problem with the Clues is that they are unreliable. So even if you got one of the unique clues, you couldnt be sure of the scenario because the Clue can be wrong True, yeah, I guess we could stack our searches toward a specific scenario's clues? And the results, while unreliable, could possibly be stacked towards one of the scenarios? I guess the problem is that people might not necessarily be interested in searching for clues over trying to get items and it's still dependent on RNG.
