Lol this feels like the AG but this time I'm on the other side.

ngl this quote from C2 SOD has been at the back of my mind cuz it strikes me as pretty genuine which is why im more inclined to see doc as the shardbearer over a regal but ehh

killing icedpenguin is boring but im not gonna fight that wagon lol

we can always just kill mippo

i urge everyone to consider this

something to note regarding the above: archer had apparently PM'd HG to privately ask her to vote Drake (after which archer followed), but publicly asked mippo to join in-thread instead of in PMs like with HG. why?

Lol I've been elim twice since I've been back? I don't think of myself as a busser unless absolutely necessary. And I would not describe a day 1 bus as necessary. If I was an elim, I would have simply voted on Akimiko and called it a day, as plenty of people were happy to see her flip and I wouldn't have stood out in that crowd. You'd probably be better off asking people like Jo, Penguin or TOW who've seen me evil?

On today's vote, I'm kind of divided. Remember how I was talking about how I like ties because it's interesting to see who was on which train and who scrambled at the end? To be honest, I didn't think Archer was scrambling because he lay the groundwork by hopping all over the place the whole day, but that's a good example of someone trying to save their teammate last minute. I'm currently interested in looking at people who weren't in the vote. That's people like Mippo, who voted on Akimiko on two different occasions but removed themselves from the train end of day to park their vote on someone who wasn't in danger. Coco also made a couple of votes but removed themselves from voting entirely. Wahr had 2 votes, then retracted both. Of this pool, I do think Mippo comes off as most suspicious, especially when they wanted it known that they thought Archer was evil when Archer wasn't in danger. That feels like setting up some distancing for me.

I'm grouping TUM, Jo, and Stick together in the not very clear reads pile. Jo and Stick both seem very focused on the Shardbearer, which to me just feels like misdirection. Incidentally, Stick, I do think it's interesting that you're suddenly accusing me of being a Shardbearer right after Jo's post that posited you as the Shardbearer :P Also your behavior on Day 1 where you started on Mist, changed to Aki, waited for her to say something, then changed back to Mist - it did kill an elim which is why I don't think you're a Regal, but that did stick out to me as odd.

Akimikoisthecutest is still my strongest village read. I do worry that I'm giving them too much of a pass because they're obviously cleared and a perfect target for conversion, especially as she didn't protect herself last cycle, but so far they have not done anything that set off alarm bells yet.

ThatOneWorldhopper and IcedOutPenguin are still kind of unknowns for me. Both of them did vote day 1 - Penguin was on Akimiko, and TOW was on Archer. on day 2 they just voted each other. Of those two, I'm more inclined to be suspicious of Penguin based on their vote on Akimiko.

I do like Qianweilian - Last cycle I said they seem to be following what other people are voting, but they did call out Penguin last cycle and seem to be doing it again.

So far the vote are:

Qian (1) TOW

Mippo (1) Stick

TUM (1) Wahr

Penguin (2) Qian2, Jo

I'm willing to vote for either Penguin or Mippo, so I'm just going to tie the vote with Mippo. I do like the fact there's a tie, at the very least it will generate more discussion than yesterday's train.

Qian (1) TOW

Mippo (2) Stick, Doc

TUM (1) Wahr

Penguin (2) Qian2, Jo

Jojala frowned as she tried once more to figure out how to discuss multiple nameless singers at once.

"As for the other nameless one, i am quite fine with their execution. Penguin, you called him?"

"As an aside, I do trust Nienna as well."

Doc vouched for Aki and claims to have proof Aki protected him, so I’m inclined in the direction of both being singers. @IcedOutPenguin has done like nothing so far, so I’m going to go with IcedOutPenguin to try and get him to answer something.

See, this is what’s weird to me. This is the second time in a row you’ve done this (offering no defense and just voting for yourself) and something just feels weird about that.

answer: probably because in-thread interactions with teammates are more important to show/are a form of distancing

Then, why would you respond if you're so busy you can't play? As far as I remember from the rules, inactivity for two cycles gets you removed. I'm sure that either of the GMs would remove you if asked to. It's fine to be less active, but you're actively self voting.

I think this is some sort of ploy or strategy. If you seem non threatening and you don't get the most votes—even if I and yourself vote for you, than you would be free to take down singers without widespread suspicion.

Posted

Yeah I don’t know, Penguin is definitely doing something odd here. If you want to leave, cool, we can vote you out, if this is a ploy, uh it’s pretty clearly not working.

While is was certainly an odd move, to advocate for one's own destruction, Jolala did not believe the forces of Odium would do such a thing. "Dahran, i would prefer your execution at this point over the Penguin's. They should instead request to be replaced. Perhaps the Almighty will see fit to do that."

Okay I guess if we’re trying to get mippo I’ll hop on that instead of making another tie. penguin

The third day of the resistance's fall unwound smoothly. The plaza fire, though contained, had kept much of them quiet, and the threat of a Shardbearer roaming around dissuaded much grabbing of attention. Plus, today, Bitel's attention had been elsewhere; the day had seen the sudden arrival of a mass of pilgrims from the nearby town of Hearthstone. Big things were brewing in Revolar, and Bitel was at their heart.

And then there was the matter of the highstorm.

Even know, in the last gleams of the day's light, Bitel could see it approaching. He could begin to hear it. The warnings had been sent out to the Singers, and most were already in hiding. Not Bitel. No, he loved the storm. The pain freed him, and over his many lives, he had learned to ride it. To him, it was like a friend.

To the others... it was a beast.

...

Dahran knew the storm was coming, and he wanted nothing more than to be huddled in his new quarters - the opulent manor that had belonged to his past owners. No, that wasn't right. He wanted nothing more than to leave. Nothing more than to put Revolar behind him, and find his own path, far away from humans and war and the damned Fused that watched every little move they made.

But Dahran's cohorts had other plans.

These last days had desensitised them to death. Not only that, it had made them thirsty for it. He could see it, because he had fallen into it himself. It was only a curse when it was turned on him.

But there was no more time to think. The wolves, the beasts that had been his brothers, turned on him now with fangs of steel. They marched him out of the town's outskirts, as shadows filled the air so the Fused would not see. They thought they could hide from their overlords, thought they were getting the upper hand. Dahran could imagine some of their smiles, so satisfied in their ingenuity, so happy to kill a traitor. But in the dark, he could not see their smiles, and he was no traitor.

Maybe Dahran should have fought, but he was no fighter. He didn't know when the others left him... but he knew they would block any attempt to return to shelter. So Dahran walked as he waited. Until at last, the storm arrived; he heard it first, from a tremble to a growl to an all-consuming roar. As the greatest beast of all bore down on him, Dahran took a final breath - and let the storm erase everything away.

...

In the storm, Bitel was thrown in every direction, flapped around, struck again and again with pieces of flying debris. Every now and then, he lashed himself to regain control, but rarely. He liked feeling powerless.

He had seen the Singers walk the innocent out. And he hadn't acted. Not tonight. Because tonight, he, himself, was hidng. The voidlight waste of this endeavor - the amount required to heal his wounds as they formed - was great, and so he had had to sneak away to be here. It was his guilty pleasure - and he regretted none of it. Because, if only for a second, the storm was able to erase his pain. It erased his past, his guilt, his worries. It erased his sins.

It erased everything.

...

Mippo has been executed! They were a Willful Listener.

PUBLIC REMINDER IN CASE THERE WAS ANY CONFUSION

The final verdict on the elim wincon debate that was eventually taken up with Araris C1 was the following:

The elim wincon remains the same as it was posted in the signups thread. That means, and I quote:

"You win when you outnumber the living Singers."

Ok so, we have probably at least two Elims running around, depending on starting Numbers.

There was however no shardbearer kill, which can mean two things:

a) Shardbearer didnt want to kill someone, I find that unlikely

b) Shardbearer was Role blocked by a Direform, that does mean the Elims now propably know who the Shardbearer is

How would that mean they know who it is?

Also, isn’t there a singer role that can block kills? So it could have been that as well.

Posted (edited)

It could not have been a kill block, because as seen last cycle, we are told when someone survives a kill attempt, so that cannot be the explanation. However Direform is not a protection Role, it Roleblocks its target, meaning whoever the Dire Form Targeted cannot use their ability, in this case probably the Shardbearer

So the Direform targeted a Player, blocking him from using his role. In the same Cycle the Shardbearer doesnt kill anyone. Meaning the Direform Probably blocked Shardbearer, the Direform knows who they blocked so they know that whoever they blocked is probably the Shardbearer

I’ve received a discerning claim - per their action results, as of the end of Night 1 doc was a villager

as of the end of Night 2, Worldhopper was a villager

as of the end of Night 3, I am a villager (wow!)

now we’ve already had a regal discerning flip, so this player who shall remain unnamed likely did not start off as a regal, however they could have been converted either n1 or n3. either way, I don’t think they are lying about their results and they are definitely not the shardbearer

@Akimikoisthecutest who’d u target last cycle?

with 10 players left we best treat this cycle as LYLO

as a matter of fact we should always treat every cycle as lylo hmmyes
