I've read everything released to physical books and/or epubs (including Curiosities), as well as most of the free fiction on his website and most of the Unpublished Content

I have not read anything audio-only and I avoid sample chapters of future books. I think Dark One is the only release on my bookshelf that I have bought and not yet read.

You mentioned Wheel of Time. . . Have you read the deleted scenes?

  • River of Souls (published in Unfettered)
  • A Fire Within the Ways (published in Unfettered III)

For non-Sanderson, we also have the Reading Recommendation thread and the What are you Reading? Thread

Do you read non cosmere works or do you mainly stick to cosmere?

For me, I had not yet ventured outside of Sanderson's cosmere except for wheel of time.

I've read pretty much everything except wheel of time, Skyward 1 is probably my favorite Sanderson book. Highly recommend the Skyward series

For Sanderson I stick with the Cosmere (outside of Wheel of Time, which I already liked before I knew of Sanderson). The non-Cosmere works Sanderson writes have seemed to have a more YA slant to them, and those sorts of books are generally less appealing to me for a variety of reasons. That was my experience with the Reckoners, though I did read them all. I also prefer some of the older Cosmere works to the more recent ones, which kind of limits the options for reading.

I have made more of an effort to read outside of Sanderson generally over the last year or so, to the extent that there are a couple of official Sanderson releases I still haven't read.

I read a lot of stuff outside the cosmere ranging from nonfiction to high fantasy. Some of my favorite non Sanderson books are The Priory of The Orange Tree by Samantha Shannon which is a high fantasy novel, my other favorite is Patriot which is a memoir of Alexei Navalni, highly recommended both

I've always loved reading. I started with a series of mystery called a to z mysteries. Has anyone else read\listened to Scythe?

I must say that non-Cosmere stuff reads differently. I read the Reckoners without a pause because I wanted the relevations. But I have no interest in rereading them, whereas rereading Cosmere is fun. So, if you are ready for something different, read them, but be aware that they are not an alternate version of the Cosmere.

I really liked Skyward 1. I finished that series, but haven’t read any of the novellas (ex. Defending Elysium or something?) The Rithmatist was excellent, but I honestly don’t think a sequel is ever going to happen. Alcatraz is fun reading to kids, but I wouldn’t consider it a good book. WoT is 🔥awesome🔥, but it’s not really Sanderson’s. I haven’t read Dark One, Infinity Blade, or all of Legion.

I am a fast reader, and I generally don't like rereading (I'd rather read something new), so I mainly read non-Cosmere books. I have read some of Brandon's other works, and I found them to be in the same general range of quality as the Cosmere. He's also releasing an urban fantasy series in collaboration with Peter Orullian this summer, so that's something to look forward to.

I've read most of his noncosmere works and really enjoyed them to various degrees, generally haven't found them to be worse in quality than cosmere books. The Skyward and Alcatraz series especially I think are quite good. And I have a fondness for Dreamer.

Moment Zero is probably in my top 3 Sanderson books.

The others are okay, but like someone said, they always have a YA feel, which I don't like. I did love Reckoners when I read it, but I don't dare re-read it (having read the Cosmere now) in case it's worse.

I've enjoyed most of Sanderson's non-cosmere works, though Skyward is by far my favorite. Books 2-3 were ok, but Skyward 1 and Janci's novellas were excellent

I read Tailored Realities (the collection) and really enjoyed it; my favourite was Moment Zero even though I did not realise what was being implied until I read the afterword. I've read the first Skyward book but didn't enjoy it very much (personally), though I plan to read the rest of the series at some point too. I read the Reckoners before Mistborn and thought it was quite good, but I still prefer the Cosmere
