NAME: Caerin Zivale (pronounced K - rin)

GENDER: Female. She/Her.

AGE (12-18): 17

SKILLS: She can whistle very well, she's gone fishing quite a few times, she's gotten good at braiding hair in complicated ways from the time before she cut it short, and she was apprenticed in medicinal practices.

BACKGROUND: Her uncle raised Caerin and her half-brother, Ayon, who is nine years younger than her. They share a father. Caerin's father (her uncle's brother) is often traveling the seas, and he didn't want to bring his two children with him and his crew on his own ship, otherwise they wouldn't receive proper education and, of course, he believed the risk of spores was too dangerous for them. As for Caerin's mother, she has been in prison for seven years, and Ayon's mother died in the civil war. Their father was there when Ayon's mother was killed. Their father's brother was more than willing to raise the two kids, and he has done so since Caerin was ten and Ayon was an infant. The first ten years of Caerin's childhood was spent with her mother, who taught her pottery on the Zephyr Islands (or other equivalent? I see we aren't on Lumar). She has since forgotten it. Her mother was imprisoned after the Civil War. Caerin's uncle located her after her mother was imprisoned, and united her with the baby, Ayon. They have spent the last seven years with their uncle, who has tried to teach them--specifically, Caerin, a child of the revolution--the art of nonviolence and passivity. It isn't going well. Caerin has been trained in medicine simply because her uncle was, and he had nothing better to teach her. They get along fine, but Caerin often wonders if, or wishes that, she has better places to be. Watching the Civil War tear her life apart has changed her view of permanence, and she's learned to avoid hurt by never letting others see her vulnerabilities, and never letting connections or companions get too close. She's made a few more enemies than friends, but has a few good ones out there. All her strength comes from fights or disputes with others and wrestling her uncle's large dogs off of her young brother. She believes her mother is wrongfully in prison, and will never forget the Civil War, even as her uncle continues to try to teach her how to regulate herself. Despite all this, what traumatizes her most of her childhood was that moment when she tried to impress someone by striking a match with one hand, but failed and instead dropped the matchbox on the ground, with all the matches spilling out. Other than that, she has appreciated what she has to call home and who she has to call family. She does not appreciate the dogs for constantly attacking Ayon.

WORST FEAR: Crying in front of someone else.

FAVORITE COLOR: Dark Green.

OTHER: She's not very good at dancing. She likes seagulls. She is intrigued by deadrunners. She's skeptical of lunar worship. (/idk how much of this works bc we're not on Lunar so you can just ignore it)

Looks pretty good. Maybe you could touch on how the Civil War after Cosmere HG affected her life?

I edited the original w/ more Civil War-focused details. How does it look now?

Lore is good, but it isn’t a requirement to participation.. It honestly becomes more important the less you interact with the actual Games (them side RPs and stuff).

NAME: Jace Dim

GENDER: Male

AGE (12-18): 18

SKILLS: Knows a lot about spores, specifically what happens if you eat them. Generally street smart as well, knows who to talk to to get stuff

BACKGROUND: Child of a sprouter, introduced to spores at a young age, ended up swallowing some and like it. As of now, he is currently addicted to sunlight spores and the warmth it gives.

WORST FEAR: Not being able to get Sunlight spores

FAVORITE COLOR: Green

OTHER: the addiction has side effects. Constant use has resulted in slight burns on his tongue and throat. The light given off through the spores seeps out of his stomach through the path of least resistance, through his mouth, back of eyes , ears, ect… and so his eyes have lost their dark vision due to the rods being unfunctional due to over-exposure.

Hopefully this is more in line with the scenario

NAME: Cryn FelKrin

GENDER: it’s fluid

AGE (12-18): 17

SKILLS: small amount of body manipulation, also good at knife-throwing. It’s quick and can’t go wrong if he/seizes, unlike other options that require an extended fight.

BACKGROUND: child of a Kandra and a Lumar native, which gives him/her a slight bit more fluidity in how they look and all, but it’s also means they have slight problems with their brain. They’re epileptic, they get seizures from time to time. Right now she/he’s just trying to find some job or trade that won’t go terribly wrong if she/he’s has a seizure.

WORST FEAR: Being catatonic during an important event, not being able to do anything to change it.

FAVORITE COLOR: Purple

OTHER: child of a Kandra and a Lumar native, which gives him/her a slight bit more fluidity in how they look and all, but it’s not enough to make them look drastically different. Only small changes.

Just so yk, this isn't actually on lumar.
And i'm not a GM, but they might have issues with being non-human.

Ah, I didn’t know that, I only skimmed most of what’s already here.

Yeah- it's like a Panem style world where cosmere magic is leaking in.

Honestly, I like the concept, but we’re only doing spores, and since Kandra are a Scadrial-magic I’ll have to veto that part (but I definitely think you should keep it in your back pocket for future rps)

Otherwise, I think it looks good

Thank you all for the information, I’ll have to change my character. I think I have an idea for it, but it would depend on how “safe” relatively speaking, swallowing sunlight Aether is, and whether a single spore would produce enough heat to burn you.

I’d say it would make you 15 C warmer. At normal body temp, definitely enough to burn

15 degrees C warmer? For one spore? That is really hot. That would mean If I took a small pouch of around 100 spores, and dropped them into a swimming pool, it would instantly boil. I don’t think that 15C is realistic, but I suppose I’ll have to find something else.

I came up with those numbers on the spot, I don’t know a ton about sunlight spores. I’m assuming you’ve read Tress?
