“Maybe they’ll think I gave up and left?”

"I don't know what kind of disguise you're looking for, but people may not want to help you if they know who you're looking for. And I wouldn't have the stomach to try subterfuge on Anders regardless."

“Hm.. Perhaps I could claim interest in what I heard. Came to see what happens from a scientific perspective.”

"Scientific?" She looked at Réva with interest.

She nodded and headed towards his house.

As the woman had said, his house was the largest in the vicinity. It was old but not dilapidated, and sturdily built of dark wood with a stone-shingled roof. Curtains over the windows on both floors blocked the view inside. It wasn't grand, but it seemed that it could probably comfortably accommodate a large family or several house guests.

She knocked on the door and looked around nonchalantly.

The door was opened almost right away. It was the same old man, Lee Anders. "I do not appreciate being followed."

Where is Réva? thought Sigismund. I swear, did she go and do what I was going to do? Abruptly the wizard went invisible as Sigismund prepared a spell. A small blue wisp peeked out from his robes.

"Locate Réva," he said. The wisp darted off. I need to get a piece of the action.

“If you have a power source, I can ensure our safety and keep us from detection. As to the second point…” she smirked. “I wouldn’t blame you if you need someone to hold your hand.”

209845 snapped back to reality, and turned to Jidah. "I do not need someone to... hold my hand," it huffed disdainfully. "As for an energy source..." it thought for a second. Jidah would need to be fueled until they could connect her to the Rift... perhaps... "I will supply the energy. It will tax me, but I am prepared to do it as soon as we're ready to go in."

Oxy looks directly at 209845 (who by the way looks surprisingly like Oxy) and says "I have a way to make myself invisible. But I can't do it for everyone unless someone provides a power source. Souls, energy, all the like work."

"Same with you. I think it best, however, we use Jidah's shield, as that way we are still able to interact normally."

Also, hate to break it to you, but Oxy can't look like 209845 cause 209845 doesn't have features. It's just a humanoid shadow made of a void-like substance with long limbs.

"It wouldn't be too hard for me to just go invisible, right?"

"That would work, yes."

209845 took one last look around at the odd group, the light around the bend, and took a deep breath. Energy began to pulse through its form, taxing its body. It turned to Jidah, then nodded. "As soon as you're ready."

Sorry everyone for the delay, life's been a little hectic, but I'm here now 😋

No worries! :D

She held out a hand in front of her, mimicking the action she took to create the shield. “I am ready. I will keep us from detection as well, yes? Everyone will have to stand as close as possible.”

209845 nodded, then moved to stand behind her. It raised its arms, then hesitated for an instant. The energy continued to pulse through its form, causing it to glow stronger and, in spots of high concentration, splitting the usual darkness of its void-flesh into a prism of color. 209845 braced itself one last time, then placed its hands on Jidah's shoulders. And Pushed.

Immediately, a surge of energy flowed through 209845 and into Jidah, powering her shield. As the force streamed out of 209845, its body yelled at it to stop. It resisted. This was a sacrifice it could make.
