"Yes, the Family. Like the Fox, and Dazh. The local deities of this world."

Ver turned to him as soon as he noticed the man. He automatically assumed that it was him who had failed to notice the man arrive in all the recent tumult, and pretended that he had known of his presence.

"And you are...?"

"NO! Do not go!" Ver did his best to look threatening, dimming his color and amplifying his voice.

Ver stood puzzled, as the being returned, and began to explain something about... "Customs"? Huh. Ver was used by now to learning new things, but he was still shocked a little every time he discovered something new the Cloud had never thought it prudent to teach their agents about.

Ver spent a while observing the interactions of Lati and Réva, intrigued by this simple, yet painfully difficult mortal way of bonding. Eventually, he turned back to the unusual being who claimed to know of Jidah.

"Take us to these... Customs."

"Custom. Singular. Not multiple. Apparently Customs is a term from---" He cut off abruptly, smile faltering. "Anyway! Who's coming?"

Do these people know about the Primals? They are huge entities in the other world, and I know a few of them have visted that world (even if for now they dont have nearly as much power there). Here's how they would have traveled there:

Spoiler

They go back in time to th point it was 'created' and go to that new world with the creators (invisible of course) and BOOM. Their there.

They would have been able to visit only by getting through Custom

So it's possible, especially if they gave a teeny fraction of their power to the Stars as a bribe (permanently, not just for the duration)

This guy wouldn't know about the primals though because even being a Sennight (basically the gods of that pocket), his knowledge is tightly controlled by the Stars. For good reason. If you don't think there's good reason, um..... trust me, there is, and her name is Daryglade.

He made a note of that in his mind.

I explained how they would be able to get through. They would only have been rehulation after it was created, so going in with the other founders (Especially with there powers on this side) would be easy. They cant keep them out if they were always there. And yeah, the Primals would still be able to teleport and time travel in the other world.

The world was founded by a very careful group of Stars who literally wove the Pocket with the souls of humans who died during an apocalypse so bad the people from that planet had to be relocated

they either would have kicked the Primals out or continued elsewhere

I'm sorry but they have to be there by permission or not at all. Even if they'd gotten through, the Stars are incredibly formidable, since they can literally use the souls of every single human there for fuel in order to protect said humans. Plus all the Sennights. Generally, kicking out an outsider would be as easy as smashing a spider (without the lethal part). If it got through the defenses in the first place.

I also don't see why the Primals would need to be there; if they realized the Stars would be antagonistic towards their presence, wouldn't they just leave?

I'll level with you for a second. My biggest grievance with the Primals being there is that this place is designed to be a safe, untouched haven and Primals basically wreck that entire concept.

Which like- I get that that's their thing, but... I just really would like to have this, if that makes sense.

Yeah, sure. Why not. The Primals have at least seen part of it, and know of its existence. But thats it. None are currently there, or have been there for long.

The Fox had been left in the temple quarters with Owen. The same temple that had been occupied by the Cloud, who had later pulled out of the caverns. If they had taken the Fox with them...

"I am most definitely coming. But first, we must search for the Fox... he is a friend of ours. A minor divinity of the local pantheon of this world. His powers are nocturnal, and he fell asleep when the sun rose... the last we saw of him was before much of this whole ordeal. I am afraid the Cloud may now have him in their possesion."

Ooh... this seems to be a Cloud level civilization. There could be some interesting conflict there... 😋

Ver waited patiently. For once, he felt no looming threat of the Cloud approaching.

The Fox is in some living quarters branching off the temple, which is down this tunnel

They left him there with Owen a while ago

I don’t know if Argenti has any intention of returning though
