As the rest of the party catches up to Jidah, at the three-way intersection, a massive feline-like beast suddenly emerges from around the bend directly ahead. The creature appears to be made of the same material as 209845, but iridescent and shiny instead of a deep void black, and its “flesh” ripples as it releases another low growl. Two more follow behind it.

Two more sets of growls alert the party of more of the creatures arriving behind and to their side. The party is utterly surrounded.

Suddenly, the first beast leaps straight at Jidah. With unnatural speed, 209845 races in front of her and instinctively lifts its arm and zaps it-

For a second, the beast appears to remain suspended in the air. Then, its rainbow colors suddenly flash to black and white. Before the party’s eyes, the beast begins to crumble, pixel by pixel, until fading into nothingness. 209845 looks down at it’s arm in awe.

”Huh. So that’s what a virus looks like,” it says, right before collapsing as it is tackled from behind.

Jidah screamed when it leaped at her and broke into violent sobbing after 209845 killed it. She started running away again.

"Virus! Die!" Lati cries, giggling as her substance envelops another.

Amazingly, this works. The virus enveloped by Lati began to screech and writhe, seemingly clawing at nothingness. Slowly, its pixels also begin to fade away, until it gives up and releases one last cry before disappearing.

"208845!"

The virus on top of 209845 suddenly screeches and gets deleted. 209845 rises, triumphant, but something about it is different. It's light, previously brilliant and sterile, is now glowing an unstable red. It turns toward Réva, and glitches as it raises its arms, both equipped with zappers.

"Instant Kill Mode: Activated"

209845 seems to teleport to Réva's location, and lunges toward the nearest virus. Time to even the playing field.

The virus has no time to even move out of the way before 209845 reaches it. Its screeches reverberate in the caverns as it gets deleted. All the viruses suddenly turn their attention to 209845, and begin to form a circle around it. Two, five, ten. They all converged, targeting the threat. 209845 smiled. This was what it was made for.

As the first viruses lunged, 209845 immediately dashed out of the way and struck a virus that had held its position. One. Using the body as cover, it leapt over another attacker and deleted it with the other arm two before landing and striking another in the back. Three. It was a dance, and 209845 was the star of the show. It weaved effortlessly between viruses, deleting them one by one as they attacked it with futility. Strike behind the ears! A voice whispered in its head, and it complied. Four. How had it known that? It didn't bother to stop and think. There was no time to deliberate. There was only the fight.

One of the viruses noticed Réva and turned to leap at her. That was a mistake. As the virus had its back turned to it, 209845 suddenly leapt forward and deleted it. Five. It hit the ground and kept sliding; as another virus landed instants where it had just been, it leaped to its feet and turned to hit it before it could react. Six.

The screams are cut off suddenly as Lati envelops the virus's mouth. It attempts to bite at its captor, but comes up with nothing, and begins to disintegrate. It's howls, however, lasted long enough. As Lati deals with the large one, two more emerge and move to surround the trio.
