1. Amber Vulture - Sauve Chad
2. Azure Mouse
3. Charcoal Hyena - Lysia
4. Chartreuse Penguin - [Ade]mordna Niugnep
5. Coral Swan - Acks
6. Emerald Falcon
7. Indigo Weasel - Nibbles
8. Ivory Dragonfly - Sew
9. Melon Dingo - Rind
10. Mint Heron - Byrar

10 players - 3 elims and 7 villagers. Could be 4 elims? I'm guessing 3.

I read these players as v: Coral Swan, Melon Dingo, Emerald Falcon

I acknowledge that I could be underestimating Falcon and v reading them just because theyre making big posts and derped on the rules a bit early in the game - @Emerald Falcon why did you go from trying to kill me EoD2 to village reading me out of nowhere SoD3?

But anyway, that leaves me with: Vulture, Mouse, Hyena, Penguin, Weasel, Dragonfly and Heron

Looks like Weasel is claiming Thug? I don't like that, with a v lurcher already having flipped. That aside, Weasel has been a very underwhelming presence this game. When I read their posts I get the impression that they should have a lot of nuanced thoughts but they just... don't.

Let's talk about Amber Vulture. I do actually like

but the timing (1 minute before rollover) does take a considerable number of points off. It also doesn't make a ton of sense to be arguing in Tuatara's favor this loudly while voting on a one-man train instead of adding your vote to an existing wagon to lower the chances of Tuatara going over. It's possible Vulture just thought Tuatara was safe because I was lead wagon? Hard to say. @Amber Vulture can you explain why you didn't move your vote to save Tuatara? You were alone on the Falcon wagon by end of day.

That said,

does look genuine, to some degree.

I will take Amber Vulture out of the POE: Mouse, Hyena, Penguin, Weasel, Dragonfly and Heron

Let's just put Heron and Dragonfly together because at least 1 of them is a villager: Mouse, Hyena, Penguin, Weasel, Dragonfly/Heron

I think Penguin is not on an elim team with Heron (because of this post). They can be v/v though.

If Heron and Penguin are v/v: Mouse, Hyena, Weasel, Dragonfly has to be the team with max 1 villager in it

With regards to Penguin,

the edit in this post spooked me out a bit, but otherwise Penguin's iso mostly looks okay

Reading Hyena's ISO I feel like they are making good posts but I don't know if they're necessarily villagery posts. The former is why I decided to townlean them earlier, I think. Ultimately I don't think I can actually take Hyena out of POE.

Like this post for example feels a tad too...informed. Where is the fog of war? Everything is clear to Hyena. They are very systematic in how they justify their votes which feels elim-indicative to me. This first occurred at EoD1 where they went a great deal explaining why they are moving their poke vote off and joining a main wagon. It feels self conscious, almost. Then this, where they clearly lay out a line of thought that perfectly justifies their vote on Ostich (a villager).

Yeah...this is giving me the heebie-jeebies

I would sooner clear Penguin over Hyena, if I were to go off posting alone.

Mouse, Hyena, Weasel, Dragonfly/Heron

This should be a good enough POE I think.

Between Dragonfly and Heron, I would kill Heron first. They were far too easily accepting and promoting the idea of Dragonfly being a villager when I think a villager in Heron's position should be a lot warier of Dragonfly.

My proposed exe order: Heron --> Hyena --> Weasel --> Mouse (assuming Heron is red. even if they arent... maybe just exe Hyena next anyway?)

Praise the Ja

So Sauve Chad had survived the wrath of the Lord Ruler. "Interesting..." He said to himself. Maybe this new force was indeed something to be reckoned with.

No. It had to be a test. Find those against the Lord Ruler, eliminate them, and receive a happy life until the end of your days.

It was simple.

Rind was a Mistborn. Historically, Mistborn were best left in check. Apparently, some rogue Mistborn had led to the chaos in Luthendel, and so Sauve Chad decided it would be a smart idea to keep an eye on Rind.

Sauve Chad recounted his letters with Coral Swan (Acks). They had been pleasant to talk to, and equally worried about events unfolding around them and the poor response time of Sauve Chad. That kind soul was very much unlikely to be a traitor.

Ivory Dragonfly, on the other hand, seemed to have fed Sauve Chad some slightly diluted/biased information potentially on the basis that they held doubts of Sauve Chad's awareness of events around him. Specific claims could be provided upon request.

Mauve Crocodile's efforts were appreciated and not overlooked, and Sauve Chad believed that man was not a traitor.

That left a few more names, but out of them, Sauve Chad chose to remove Emerald Falcon and Azure Mouse out of the equation.

Charcoal Hyena, Mint Heron, Chartreuse Penguin, and Indigo Weasel were all that remained.

So many suspects, so little time.

So the good thing about the overwhelming wagon from yesterday is that it does likely make likely elims on that wagon. <Hyena/Swan/Crocodile/Dingo/Heron> likely has one regardless of Heron's alignment. From also then, I do want to call out the D1 vanity voters of <Crocodile/Dingo/Dragonfly/Weasel>. Then, D1 we have the tied wagons (sans for the removed vote from Crocodile's wagon. That means someone wanted them around, but the rest people were content to see fall; if that was an elim's doing, then <Dragonfly/Heron> should be town, and Crocodile should be eliminated regardless.

The greatest overlap hotspots here are <Crocodile/Dingo>. I think I'll also arbitrarily throw out Crocodile and Heron as a e/v pair, but that makes things interesting.

e!Crocodile makes v!Heron, but are people also stating makes there a difference in Heron and Dragonfly? Which I suppose is safer to put into <Crocodile/Heron/Dragonfly> always has one Elim?

Why remove me when I've been coasting hard for a few phases? What exactly has been so emphasising of my towniness to keep it?

Also that being said. I think PMs are elim-favoured right now. Either the Elims are the ones with the Tineye, or they have control there.

Ivory Dragonfly (1): Mauve Crocodile
Melon Dingo (1): Amber Vulture
Mint Heron (1): Indigo Weasel

Dingo's vote is functionally doubled by their alleged Soother ability. So with (functionally) three votes on Vulture, a Dragonfly wagon crashes the party:

+Swan on Dragonfly
+
Ostrich on Dragonfly
+Penguin on Dragonfly

Nibbles would be a little surprised if the team is Vulture-Swan-Penguin. Not only doesn't it involve anyone from Heron/Dragonfly, but they're all similar players. Ostrich being the second vote also makes it look less like a malicious venture. There's no real smoking gun here, besides a simple two-player connection of Swan-Vulture that isn't very compelling.

Nibbles is also confused about the distro. e!Mistborn would help balance things, hence the rethink on Dingo.

I just have that vibe. I would otherwise assume elims would want to take out a source of town information but it seems not, which means elims are profiting off of it, or it is one of theirs.

They've only had two NKs so far. Plus they'd have to know who the Tineye is.

Paranoia about PMs/being out of the loop reads as evil

Well you couldn't maintain the guise for long without being able to Soothe again. The bigger point in your favor is bringing up your role, ever. You made the issue for yourself with your initial, unnecessary if evil, claim.

How would you balance the distro? E!Seeker maybe? Nibbles offers 🥔 baked potato if you can make it make sense

Unless they are hiding vote manip because none of their teammates have been threatened yet, I highly doubt that they would have vote manip that hasn't been seen.

My initial suspicion is an e!Tineye. And that's not that hard to figure out if you're in the loop of things. I don't care for your shade here.

AG11/AN15: Day Four - Borrowed Time

A grim silence fell over Tyrian Falls, in the wake of Kael Voss’s death.

They had lost their mayor, their Watch Captain, and Malmoc, the aging herbalist, in the span of three days. Hayden Vendel had accidentally killed Alain Short in a fight, and subsequently paid for it with his own life. Byrar had overzealously clubbed Kael to death while believing he was calling for the other Spiked to save him.

What they did not have was the identity of any of the Spiked saboteurs in their midst, nor any success at stopping the Spiked.

With Tema dead, the village had turned to Aralis as the de facto mayor. Some of this was the fact that Aralis was simply as old as dirt, and the village respected him, grudgingly or otherwise, and figured that he probably had some idea of what to do. Some of it was the calculation that given Aralis’s formidable prowess with his thwacking staff, he was probably not going to go and get himself murdered by the Spiked next.

Most of it, however, was probably just the fact that the village was lost, for all that civic-minded Tyrianers like the Jaist priest or watchers like Falcon were preaching the need for vigilance and careful examination of the suspect pool, and given a figure who could issue clear directions, were wont to fall in line.

Aralis was still not convinced that the saboteurs were the ‘Spiked’ that some of the Tyrianers were terrified of, nor was he convinced that the koloss lurked somewhere beyond the periphery of the night mists, drawing ever closer to Tyrian Falls.

Saboteurs, yes. Murderers, yes.

Spiked?

Aralis knew of the Lord Ruler’s Inquisitors. Every skaa did—and then you hoped that that was the last time in your life you ever saw them, and at a distance. The idea that some in Tyrian Falls had learned those fell arts and were using them? All of that beggared belief.

While he’d felt that the palisade was really a distraction, in the end, he’d relented and let Clem assign shifts to watch the palisade on the argument that morale in Tyrian Falls was low and the villagers needed all the help they could get; some way of believing they could hold out against the so-called koloss.

Aralis drew up abruptly short.

Had he heard…?

Footsteps, falling quiet on the stones. Slowing behind him, as though an echo. A line of bugs skittered away from Aralis’s sandals.

“I wasn’t born yesterday,” Aralis muttered.

Rind drew a slow, shaky breath, and then another, hoping to steady himself.

The mists swirled around him, as though seeking to offer comfort. It was strange, being an Allomancer, Rind thought. Most Allomancers didn’t fear the mists. But how could he not? His parents, as best as he knew, had been killed by mistwraiths. He’d Snapped some time after, but it was difficult to venture out in the mists, knowing what he did.

He tried to keep a rough grip on his fear.

When Rind had announced publicly in the village square that he was Mistborn, Clem had shortly afterwards taken him aside.

“I need you to try to take shifts on the palisade at night,” Clem had said, grimly.

Rind felt the sharp frisson of fear, bone-deep, at the thought of having to venture out into the mists at night. “Do…do I have to?” he asked, and immediately disliked how plaintive he sounded. He had volunteered the information after all, hadn’t he? He’d felt that knowing he was Mistborn was helpful for the rest of the villagers of Tyrian Falls. Why was he shirking his duty now?

And yet…the mists. They terrified him, unreasonably so; on a level so deep it ran below consciousness. He was shaking like a leaf of grass at the thought of having to endure the night out in the mists.

“I wouldn’t ask if it wasn’t important,” Clem said, simply. He added, a few moments later, “You’re Mistborn. You can see them coming, and Pewter gives you an edge. That’s not something the others have, and I’d need to put pairs of Watch volunteers on the palisades to avoid what happened to Gam.”

Rind swallowed. “I’ll do it,” he said, weakly. Told himself he would bear with it somehow, because Tyrian Falls needed him, and that was why he’d stepped up in the first place, wasn’t it? Because he was afraid, and—and maybe that didn’t matter. Sometimes you just had to grit your teeth through it, because there was something more important at stake, and how you felt about it didn’t matter.

At least he had topped up his metals before coming out to the palisade.

Rind shifted his feet and continued to burn Tin. In a way, it was a nerve-wracking experience: with all his senses magnified, almost anything made him startle. Odd rustling, the sound of a pebble clattering to the ground, a bird calling out—was that a mistwraith, or a Spiked murderer creeping up behind him?

Wait.

…A pebble clattering?

Rind spun about and flared pewter, his forearm coming up reflexively to shield himself. At the same time, the broad knife came down—hard.

The thick-bladed knife snapped.

It was, after all, only steel.

Rind felt a sudden warmth, and the trickle of blood down his arm. If there was pain, he was too wound up on the rush of adrenaline and the heat of the pewter he was flaring to feel it.

Moving with Pewter-enhanced strength and speed, he punched his assailant in the gut. The hooded figure staggered, but to Rind’s surprise, did not collapse. Instead, his attacker snarled, “Next time,” and leaped.

Rind’s Tin-enhanced ears heard a clatter again—not a pebble then? Perhaps a coin?—before the assassin leaped, cloak fluttering like some sort of ungainly bird, and soared out into the night, the mists spreading away in his wake.

Blood dripped down Rind’s arm.

He didn’t know whether to give chase or not, but the idea of pursuing an assassin into the mists was too much for him, and Clem’d told him to guard the palisade, hadn’t he?

When he could no longer sense the Allomantic pulses fading into the distance, Rind finally stopped burning Bronze, and let himself sag with relief. He realised absently he was almost out of Pewter, and let off as well. He’d spare vials, but there was no reason to finish his Pewter without need. Tin he left on. He would need it. The watch was not yet over.

It had been a close call. But somehow, he’d survived.

Aralis moved cautiously.

He drifted a few paces down the street, to the left. The night mists made it difficult to watch, to try to see who might be following him.

He kept an easy hand on his staff, knowing he might need it if he was attacked. A retired Hazekiller who’d passed through Tyrian Falls several years ago, by the name of Sidor, had taught him some tricks with the staff. And being made of wood, a staff was as good a weapon as a dueling cane against an Allomancer, which in Aralis’s mind, just made the staff better against any kind of attacker.

Try as he might, however, he could no longer hear footsteps.

Had they given up? Were they creeping up on him even now?

Disgusted, Aralis swept his staff lightly around him, still straining with all of his aging senses. But he heard nothing; after that first time, the footsteps had melted away into the night.

His path had taken him past the Hound and Hustle, and he thought he caught sight of something daubed on the walls. What was that?

Aralis drew closer to the wall, still watchful, still listening.

He peered at it. As best as he could tell, some young whippersnapper had daubed an image of stick man about to be hanged on the tavern wall.

Aralis shook his head disapprovingly at the general shenanigans of the youth of the day.

He waited a few more moments, and then pressed on, heading back towards his home.

Perhaps he’d been taken in by the hysteria in Tyrian Falls himself. Whoever had been the source of the footsteps, it seemed clear they were long gone.

Adrenaline still raced through Rind, panic and relief intermingling in equal measure. He had gone out in the mists, after so long, and his worst fears had come true. A saboteur. An unseen attacker in the night. Bloody hell, he had nearly died. Even if pewter sped up his recovery, he could still feel the chill of steel where it had impaled his arm. He hadn't, though. And neither had anyone else.

But they couldn't rest yet. The spiked were still out there.

In all the chaos of the night, Rind hadn't had the chance he wanted to seek out any of the spiked. It seemed like others trusted him, though, and he and a misting of particular skill had managed to plan some before the sun set and the mists fell. At risk as he was, Rind could relay what his friend had found. He walks up to Byrar @Mint Heron and clears his throat. "Your coppercloud, you left it on last night. Why?"

While waiting for a response Rind took the time to think through his suspicions. As much as he liked the man, Acks @Coral Swan had been seeming shady. The two had gotten talking after discovering their shared talent for soothing, but Acks' nudges had always seemed to lead to ruin for town. Hayden's death had hit hard and drawing a vote away from the Jaist didn't paint Acks in a good light. They claimed to have already left when suspicion shifted, but even at that point it would have saved the Jaist and left Sew most strongly accused. The following day Acks had jumped to accuse Sew, finding her the more suspicious of the two smokers. Rind had privately requested that they switch to Byrar, to assuage the doubts which currently plagued him, and Acks had complied - very briefly, before moving to accuse Kael on what seemed a rather small amount of evidence. Rind kicked himself for joining Acks in that accusation. Not only that, but Acks had soothed a vote upon Byrar, ensuring their desired execution went through. If that wasn't enough, Acks had pulled Rind aside after he revealed himself mistborn, wanting to know if Rind had stocked up on pewter or iron. Of course Rind hadn't told him the truth. Too many things didn't add up. Rind had shared, however, the vial of bronze which still sat safely in his satchel. Just a whisper from Acks to Byrar, and it all began to click into place.

Rind just wished he had kept more pewter in reserve. He had a sinking feeling the next night would be his last.

Byrar had gone to bed tired and woken to accusations. It seemed the entire town thought he was a killer. But this didn’t make any sense. He had turned off his coppercloud. They should know that he was innocent.

Posted

Rind nodded. It wasn't much in the way of defence, but his accusation had been baseless. The attack last night had kept him too busy to do any seeking, and a bronze misting in the town's midst was rather unfortunately too good to be true.  He didn't know if Byrar's reaction was honest, he could be calling his bluff, but it was far less incriminating than trying to justify leaving his coppercloud on. With a sigh Rind turned away to think.

Posted

"It's definetely a point in their favour." It wasn't the most believable lie, so Rind was mostly back to square one. He'd have to think back on what they had said the previous days to make a choice. "It might be worth thinking about how the spiked fit together? Who would make sense for Byrar or Sew to be working with?"

Ade knew she needed to be more helpful. Everyone in town was mostly ignoring her existence, and it was most likely because she had been so quiet. So She sat down at an empty table, took a napkin and began scribbling thoughts.

Amber Vulture -  A very interesting character. Constantly refers to himself in the third person. Very different from what I do. I refer to myself in first person, even though i am written in third person. Argued that Tuatara was a bad vote after his attack and survival, D2 voted Falcon. N2 recommends to watch Dragonfly. D3 votes Dingo. N3, mentions to continue keeping eye on Rind, also mentions to watch Dragonfly, has specific claims to refer to.
Azure Mouse - D2, Seemed Suspicious of Tuatara's survival on N1, but never voted for Tuatara or anyone else. to be fair they question many things. Odd behavior for someone so active in the town affairs to not vote for someone. N2, seems to apologize at least to themself that they didn't vote, and justify to themself as well. Acknowledges they've been passive, and says they'll change that. D3, votes heron. N3, Argues that there are likely evil people on the Ostrich wagon. Spitballs a few alignment pair possibilities.
Charcoal Hyena - On D2, acknowledges D1 vote, saying it felt more random. N2, explains lack of vote. Is second person to point out a specific odd post from Croc. D3, Votes ostrich because they are the only person that hasn't previously been under pressure, as an evil read. We know now this is wrong, but stated intentions seem valid. I still have to judge whether they were just joining a train to protect someone else, or if they actually believe their stated intentions.
Chartreuse Penguin - Me, good person. I'll spare you the obviously biased village read of myself
Coral Swan -
Emerald Falcon -
Indigo Weasel -
Ivory Dragonfly -
Mauve Crocodile -
Melon Dingo -
This person is (likely) cleared, having been attacked. Never a guarantee though, especially if the evil people are feeling confident in their espionage. I'm gonna treat them as if they're the safest person at the moment.
Mint Heron -

Suddenly, Ade had an urge to use the restroom, so she got up real quick and left the note on her table. "I'll be back in just a moment" She thought "This should be fine here, then I'll finish it."
