Calten_Gnomercy Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 (edited) So, as we come together in book 6 I was thinking of the implications of the last scene we see Lift in. Zahel is amazed by her skill. Which is the second time in the book some super powered individual is very complimentary of her fighting skills. Male also mentions it. So Lift gets a decade of training under Zahel who adds in some Awakening aspects. We come back in book 6 to a 5th degree Edgedancer who is now holding a substantial amount of breaths jumping her to XX heightening and powered by Lifelight. Maybe at some point Zahel bestows “all” of his breaths to her including his divine breath as some act of heroism helping her be a savior to someone. Navani maybe? I dunno. Just thought she’d be OP in that light, but seems plausible. Edited December 27, 2024 by Calten_Gnomercy 2
Lord Ruler Sylphrena He/Him Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 Wonder if Zahel might become a radiant to and use breaths to fuel his surges.

That would be a huge waste of Breaths. Since it's better to hold onto Breaths for the Heightening and Awakening, but if you use it in Surgebinding, then the Breath is gone forever, and it'll be a massive pain to go all the way back to Nalthis just to get some more. 1

Lift, a mere Radiant beats a full Feruchemist, which he obviously lost to. As to his breaths..? I'm still banking on my theory from years ago that he'll awaken all those Radiant statues!
Ba-Ado-Fisherman Posted December 27, 2024 Posted December 27, 2024 I still think Lift is a dragon, idc if Brando said otherwise lol. 3

Based upon OB Ch 29 / Ch 105 (which are based on earlier worldbuilding - just addressed directly here): Spoiler Ch 29: Spoiler It reminded Shallan of the mausoleum carved into the hill near her manor, where ancient Davar family members had been Soulcast to statues. Her father’s body hadn’t been placed there. They had lacked the funds to pay for a Soulcaster—and besides, they’d wanted to pretend he was alive. She and her brothers had burned the body, as the darkeyes did. Ch 105: Spoiler The Soulcaster regarded the corpse, head cocked, as if surprised to find a body here. They ran their fingers along Gavilar’s jaw, then brushed the hair off his forehead. “The only part of you that is true,” the Soulcaster whispered, tapping a stone that had replaced one of the king’s eyes. Then, light emerged as the Soulcaster drew their hand from their pocket, revealing a set of gemstones bound into a fabrial. Dalinar didn’t look away, despite how the light made his eyes water. He wished … he wished he’d taken a drink or two before coming. Was he really supposed to watch something like this while sober? The Soulcaster touched Gavilar on the forehead, and the transformation happened instantly. One moment Gavilar was there. The next he had become a statue. Those references are combined with these WoBs: Spoiler Quote EMTrevor Would an Awakener be able to awaken a corpse that was soulcast into stone more easily because it used to be living, thereby being able to create lifeless similar to Kalad's Phantoms without having bones in the framework? Brandon Sanderson Yes. That would definitely work. Tor.com The Way of Kings Re-Read Interview (June 10, 2014) Quote Questioner So the lighteyes that get Soulcast into stone, can they be Awakened? Brandon Sanderson *pause* So… Yes, but their soul is gone. When they get Soulcast into stone it is only the corpse, so yes they could. Questioner Would it be a lifeless or a-- Would it be like Awakening something inorganic or would them once being alive help? Brandon Sanderson The fact that they were once alive will help. There's a Spiritual Connection that still exists on the Spiritual Realm and that is going to help. But you're not going to get the person back. The fact that it is the exact form of a person is going to be really helpful. It would be a lot easier to Awaken that than it would be to Awaken other stone. Shadows of Self release party (Oct. 5, 2015) To create the fan-theory that because Soulcasting Lighteyes into Statues after death is a Vorin tradition, then somewhere in or near Urithiru there will be a Mausoleum of Ancient Radiant Statues that can be Awakened. No such mausoleum has been confirmed or denied. Neither has it been confirmed or denied that pre-Recreance Radiants followed this Vorin tradition. Sibling Confirmed both - RoW Ch 114 (see below). I stand corrected - did not recall that reference (only the debates back when those WoBs were new). RoW Ch 114: Spoiler They gave Teft a king’s funeral, Soulcasting him to stone. A sculptor would be commissioned to create a depiction of Phendorana to erect next to him. The Sibling said there was a room, locked away, where the ancient Radiants stood forever as stone sentries. It would feel good to see Teft among them, in uniform and looking at them all with a scowl, despite the embalmer’s best efforts. It felt right. 3
Dreamwa1ker she/her Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Oh my gosh can you imagine Zahel does it and we get a scene of a bridge 4 member seeing statue Teft and Phendorana fight again to save the day? Epic 2
