Astra looked about quickly.

"Let's go. There's someone.... or something.... and we can't see it."

She squinted her eyes at the tree, then gripped her fists.

"It's not safe."

"Hello? Have any of you considered running away?" Mark asks. "Whoever or whatever was in that tree probably threw some rocks upwards. If I were in that position, I'd be sneaking around to hit them in the back, so we need to get moving. Now."

“I’ve got my iron now. We can pretend we don’t notice the sneak attack and then cause an ambush. Honestly, I can stall while you get away. As long as you have that axe, Jaksyn, I can find you. See you soon, and good luck.” Tondon taps and stores during his idea to make people decide that he’s trustworthy and unimportant enough for the plan to work.

“If you tap your Connection, could you Pull on my metalmind?” Jaksyn gestures to the metal cap covering the end of his left arm. “You could go around, then Pull me up to the top, where I’d attack them.”

Connor nodded firmly and grins. “One final request. Do you have a coin? I just need one, and I’m hoping it’s free”

NOOOOO AUTOCORRECT I THOUGHT WE WERE PAST THIS

“I have a coin,” Corin says. “But you’ll have to—” he cuts off sharply. No gambling. “All yours.” He flips it across the counter.

“Maybe? How much do you have stored in it? Invested things are hard to move. But I can reach it. I think if I tap enough in a burst, I might be able to ironsight the entire arena.”

Jaksyn is storing enough luck that the metalmind might just fly off. But Tondon doesn’t know that.

"15?" It comes out as more of a question. A certian question, to be fair, but a question nonetheless.

“That’s amazing. We might have to try that… Could you target moving metals? Like, ones attached to people?”

“Yeah, I’ve done it before. That being said, it takes a ton of Connection, and if I stored at this rate back home, I’d probably be hit by a car. If I’m gonna pull you, I’d be pulled at the same rate, so we’d end up just crashing into each other. Where are you trying to go? Into the tree?” He looks around for anyone who might be a threat. “13,” Corin decided. “And sickly. I’ll accept that deal, and I’ll give you more poison and supplies for each person you kill.”

“Think deeper,” Corin said. “Think of deaths, of investiture, of stories and secrets.” He shrugged. “Give the people a reason to care. The more dramatic your actions, the better items I can give you.”

Tinker stared blankly at Corin for a second. Then he groaned loudly and put his hand to his face.

"For the love of... I'm not selling my life to you people!" he yelled. "Why would I sacrifice who I am for an advantage?! You've taken enough from me. I'm not losing my morals to you, too."

He turned and started walking towards the door.

“At least you had a choice,” Corin muttered. He sounded bitter, but he nodded at Tinker’s retreating back respectfully.

That sentence makes no sense but I’m too tired to fix it—

Tinker stepped out of the Casino out onto the snowy ground.

He walked in Marewill's direction, trying to contain his anger. He walked past without glancing at her.

"Let's go," he said, barely slowing down. "There's nothing for me in there."

He shakily nods, and Awakens a strip of cloth. "Stay," he mutters, and a few hundred breaths flow out of him. He staggers over to the desk and holds out the cloth. Where he used to sit, an outline of grey in the shape of his body was placed.

For a moment, she didn’t follow. Eventually he heard snow crunching behind him as she began to walk with the same pace.

Why? Why is this whole trial designed to remove who we are? Is taking our lives not enough for them?

How evil are these people?

What do the far edges of the arena look like? Are there trees, more caves?

And are they going to encounter anything?

"I said let's go," she muttered underneath her breath as she swung her bag around her shoulder.

"Yes-" Astra began as an idea struck, "Could you?"

She took a stone from her bag and used cohesion to create a metal arm band. Then she paced in a small circle.

Astra paused, "Then conserve Connection. Let's check out round back behind the trees."

“I can. Storing Connection is an advantage here, rather than a danger,” Tondon Pulls the band towards himself, as asked. It tugs Astra towards Tondon, and Tondon toward Astra. He then follows her other instructions, and walks around the trees to see what he can find. @Unintelligenius @Edema Rue

As they walk, the trees begin to thin even more, until there are none left. Then, abruptly, they hear a sharp cry from above. A huge eagle begins to descend, far more rapidly than should be possible.

"Oh, moons-"

Tinker tackled Marewill out of the way, knocking them both to the ground. He whipped out a Crimson grenade and started the fuse, then hurled it at the eagle. Red spikes exploded outwards, piercing it's flesh.

She yelped and her nose hit the ground hard. It started to bleed. It was broken.

It screeches, the sound deafeningly loud. It opens its beak, aiming for Marewill.

i will keep that all in mind. i will have roy give up and start asking for stuff again. how powerfull in turms of stuff can i get? like dawnshard level or shardblade?

"do you like the GM's is that why you don't want to help me? no wait of course! the gm's can hear everything that's going on in here. that means that..." roy trailed off looking worried about how the gm's might react to what he had said...

Quote

also... what to offer? you said devi which made me think blood because she always askes for a drop of blood before a transaction but now i think you meant secrets. as she always tries to drive people so deep in dept that she can gain secrets from them. all roy knows is that because he saw a gm do some less than leagle stuff he was forced to enter the arena or be executed
