"For the love of... I'm not selling my life to you people!" he yelled. "Why would I sacrifice who I am for an advantage?! You've taken enough from me. I'm not losing my morals to you, too."

He turned and started walking towards the door.

He walked in Marewill's direction, trying to contain his anger. He walked past without glancing at her.

"Let's go," he said, barely slowing down. "There's nothing for me in there."

As they walk, the trees begin to thin even more, until there are none left. Then, abruptly, they hear a sharp cry from above. A huge eagle begins to descend, far more rapidly than should be possible.
