Oh! We can torment Backtrack one last time when Autumn says she's been asked to escort him to "the best healer in The Dalles"! :P

Oh, poor Backtrack. Why are we so cruel? (by which I mean, we should definitely do this. :D:P)

Autumn and Baxter can be nice to him. Me, not so much. I still have a few more Koschei flashbacks in the works.

:o A bit of excitement, but also a lot of :o

We should be ashamed of ourselves. (read: I will work on a way to phrase it that sounds like it could be either a human doctor or the Deathless One. :D)

There are two very bright bright sides. 1) He's already dead, and 2) He never met Nighthound.

On another note, I'm not sure if I should be as happy as I am that the thought of more Koschei flashbacks inspires such fearful excitement. :P

Some day you're going to make it big as a horror writer. And when we're asked what you were like before you made your breakthrough, we'll have to say "She was the same then as she is now--a person who takes way too much joy in terrifying her fellow human beings." :P

Backtrack's taking a lot of abuse, but he's also still a terrible person. He needs a lot abuse to hammer him back to morality. :P

I always used to wonder how other writers did it. And then Koschei popped into my head, and I started writing for him, and I realized how they did it. It's kind of fun. :P

Idea: In the next flashback, Koschei's vendetta against Remington is born. As Backtrack grows more fearful of Koschei and grows to dread seeing the world through his eyes more, he could begin looking into Remington's mind, just to keep himself sane, and start to sympathize more with the hunter he had looked down on. It could be an interesting variation on Scare 'Em Straight.

Yes we should. (read: How about you throw in something along the lines of, "I still remember that one time he worked here in the church.")

It just means that you joined me and Kobold in the ranks of both terrible Slontzes and likable characters, although your order was reversed.

I reserve the bragging right to claim that I inspired her. :P

We can do that, no problem.

How about she takes a look at his arm and says, "Come on, we'd better get that fixed up. His office isn't far, but it's further than it would've been if he still worked at the church, so we'd better get moving."

You and Kobold both get equal credit. You inspired me with Nighthound, but Koschei was born when I asked myself, "What would happen if Remington had fought and killed an Epic who was like Lightwards, but ten times worse?"

Sounds good to me.

I just realized, Koschei is kind of a fusion of Nighthound and Lightwards.

The frightening thing is... I've been planning for Lightwards to grow steadily worse and worse for a while now. Which means that before his final death comes along, he'll have risen to the same level of delusion and evil as Koschei. :o

But he´ll also be batshit crazy, making him a very different kind of evil.

Sweet. :D Do you want me to post his flashbacks in The Dalles thread, too, or just leave them up in Portland and you can pick and choose which bits you want to use?

I find this thought genuinely terrifying. I mean, seriously. This is going to be creep city.

It doesn't matter to me. I suppose if they were posted to Portland first, then we'd both have more freedom about the whole process. You could choose precisely when to show a flashback, and I could choose precisely when to freak Backtrack out over it.

If you don't mind, I might deliberately echo Koschei with Lightwards' actions, at least once. It would be a nice way to illustrate how far he's slipping.

I don't mind at all. And there will be plenty of despicable actions for Lightwards to echo.

Neat. Bonus points if I can manage to include them in front of Remington.   :P

So, uh... this is the first time one of my characters has been shot by someone I wasn't writing for. Do I go next with Backtrack's pained screaming, or do the twins go next?

If by "bonus points," you mean "turn Remington into a boiling pot of rage bent on scalding Lightwards to oblivion," then yes. :P

Echoing what Edge said. Does he sit there whimpering, or scream as he tries to murder Reader with a paperweight? :P

Wow! I go away for a night and you guys have put up 4(!) pages!

That's what I get for needing sleep, I guess.

I'll have a Ranger/Paladin post up soon, and I'll be introducing a new vanilla, one of Vondra's senior intelligence officers, entrusted with a task of the highest importance.

I know the feeling. You´ll get used to it. :P

Awesome, already exited. (Just out of curiosity and excuse me if this was already answered in our gigantic backlog but does Vondra aka. Kobold actually know what this important mission is?)

If it's what I think it is, then I definitely know about it.

Randomly off-topic, but I've made an accessory update to Sam's pony.

She's not particularly happy about it.

Good, just asking to avoid another Reader situation.

That´s not off-topic. Off-topic would be a talking about the similarities that the weeping angles and the silence have with SCP-173 and SCP-055 respectively (the SCPs comming first to my knowledge).

On-topic: Poor Sam has to wear fancy shoes. Who´s got first world problems now? :P

But Lucentia couldn't order off the breakfast menu 'cause she slept in 'till two! :P

It's in the other thread, but here's a link.

One of these days, I probably should put up bios for all of the minor Epics that are getting killed in my posts...

And here´s the difference between Sam and Lucentia. Sam just mopes about her shoes, while Lucentia goes out and solves her problems (or at the very least lets them get solved). Naturally, her solution probably involves violence or the threath thereof so it´s not like she makes the better person. :P
