i would love for this to start anew. i am wondering if we start anew as I kind of want to change my epic to make him more along the power level of fish. maby even be part of fish's faction.

I’d like to continue with Plastique as a character, but I’m fine with rebooting. There isn’t much character development to reset

did plastique work for fish? wondering since I want to make a new epic that works for fish. i am foreseeing some conflict between our characters as both want to have fish's attention focused on us instead of the other.

She did, I think she was pretty highly ranked in the Seiche. @xariori’s character had a similar relationship with her, although I can’t remember how much of that we actually ended up showing. An additional rival would be great.

Glad we've still got lots of interest! I'm kind of leaning towards partially rebooting it? Perhaps we timeskip or something, because a bunch of characters are supposed to be doing things (rip the Sundew meeting). I'm likely going to keep Fish, but I might have another Epic lined up that I've been thinking about chronic multichatacter lol

I do agree we need another major faction to oppose Fish, probably someone up to par with how... absurdly strong I've made him (technically he's not practically powerful in a fight lol. I'm probably going to tweak his secondary powers to be less vague and a bit more structured).

With @Aeoryi not responding to me smh get back here, it's possible Sundew will be inaccessible (which is fine, she's still a scary threat of nature). If we do want a replacement scary Epic, I'm always willing to have more characters

I am willing to make an epic that rivals fish in a way that is not like sundew. I feel like sundew was really the leading cause of failure, so I have a brand-brand-brand-new design for an epic.

Real/Pre-calamity name: August Sparks

 

Age: 24

 

Gender: Male

 

Primary Power (if epic):  He can copy another epics abilities for one hour. He can only have one epics powers at any given time, and copying another will overwrite the previous set. In order to copy abilities, he must see the epic use them. He can have multiple powers at once, but only if copied from the same epic.

 

Weakness (if epic): Large hate mobs. Usually above 15 people. The hate must be directed towards him.

 

Personality (highly encouraged): He's very quiet, he will also insist that he has the worst luck imaginable. He usually lies pretty low. Currently he's trying to make very little public appearances to try and make people forget about him.

 

Backstory (highly encouraged): As a child he remembers large riots near his house that often turned violent. Because of this he fears large mobs of people. When he became an epic he tried to take over Calgary in Canada, but other epics saw his powers as a threat and made a mob to fight him. Because of this event he insists that he has the worst luck imaginable.

There's a character in some book or something I've read with an ability just like this, can't remember who it is and it's bothering me

Does he get the full strength of the Epic's powers he copies?

I personally think it's probably fine, the only change I can think of to make him a bit less OP would be requiring touch to steal powers, or having a cooldown so he can't spam copy one Epic's powers. In the day and age of insanely OP characters brought to you by Aeo and I, he's probably ok! I'm a believer in personality of characters making them stronger/weaker in their abilities, so him being very quiet but powerful balances him out!

Yah I was thinking about having it be touch, the issue is most PI stop his power from working then. The one thing I would say that helps balance it is he has to figure out how to work the abilities. Kinda like how they had to learn the spiral in the books. He can't use the abilities perfectly as soon as he copy's them.

That works! On paper he's quite powerful, but his power set isn't that practical depending on who he copies 

This reminds me that I need to make some tweaks to Fish again.

Awesome! Whatever sounds cool to you! I based Fish off of Duke Fishron, and Parry is based off of Sekiro/LoP parrying. In the Reckoners RPG back when it was a subforum, I think I just picked powers that sounded cool and fit the character idea I had.
