Alright, time to give Lavoisier some back up

Thanks and welcome to the group!

First non epic character of the game (in my cell):

Spoiler

Name: Kira Chang

Personality: Kira always tries to be optimistic. She's constantly looking for a bright side. After Calamity however, this translated into the skill to find her way out of sticky situations. she's seen the devastation the epics brought, and knew deep inside that she had to survive. Kira can wiggle her way out of conversations, handcuffs, and once even a high-security vault. She knows that there will be an answer. As time goes on, she is beginning to believe that she will have to be that answer.

Backstory: Kira was born in America, but her parents were originally from China. She grew up Catholic. As a kid, she demonstrated abnormal amounts of dexterity and charisma. When she grew older, she was known for her positive attitude and unwillingness to accept that anything was truly negative. When she was 18, Calamity hit. Kira had been in college at the time for psychology when the place was blown up by an eager epic. She quickly fled, attempting to send word to her family. She got no reply. From there, she made her way back to their house and found it in ruins. No bodies in sight. Determined to find them, she turned to the Reckoners. The Reckoners, seeing her unusual potential, welcomed her in. They asked if she wanted to join, but she refused. After she found her parent's dead bodies six miles from their house, she agreed out of hate for the epics. Even so, her positive attitude showed through and she made the best of it.

As the Catholic church degraded into chaos, Kira found herself joining the ranks of the Faithful. she wears her pendant with hope and determination. Kira has grown much since Calamity. She's became far more practical and uses her unique skills to help her become an observant theif (although she refuses to accept this, claiming that she is instead "a sneaky observer". This causes the other members of the cell to laugh for minutes on end upon the mention of it). Although not an epic, Kira can certainly hold her own.

Skills (according to Kira): borrowing things, presenting a different truth, walking quietly, evading risks

Skills (according to everyone else): stealing, lying, sneaking, spying, dodging

Favored tools: lockpicks, daggers, dart guns, and a unique epic motivator made form an epic called Cat Theif. It takes the shape of a glove that will stick to anything she touches. The glove clings to the surface or object surprisingly strongly, but she can release the object or surface by pressing on a surface with all five of the fingers on the gloved hand. Kira owns two of these.

Kira seems pretty cool!

I couldn't stay away from another character so here's my newest addition.

Parry (I come up with the worst names)

Spoiler

Parry
Sekiro-style (ish) Disclaimer: I don't play Sekiro, but a game with a similar parry mechanic

Real name: Perrin Kocr

Physical: Male. Brown hair, brown eyes. Average height. In his mid-to-late 20s.

Personality & more: Very reserved, doesn't like using his power because it tends to draw attention to him. A quiet bookworm-ish sort of guy. He's also a bit paranoid and very non-confrontational. Is proficient with various guns and hand-to-hand combat.

Primary:
While holding any object, he can parry any physical objects around the size of a coin or larger. This includes high-speed projectiles (bullets), objects thrown at him like chairs, and liquids (but not gases). If he times his parry correctly, he will suffer no physical harm. Whatever he parried will kind of bounce harmlessly to the ground. If he swings at it as opposed to a block animation, he can deflect it back to wherever it was spent from. In this case, it will reverse directions and have the same speed and angle as when he deflected it.

It is possible that he mis-times the parry, which means that his power has no effect on whatever he tried to parry.

Secondary: Enhanced reflexes to help him time parries.

Weakness: Match boxes. Possibly also matches but he doesn't want to find out. He actually hates matches so much. If you throw a match box at him, you can then shoot him and he'll die...

Backstory: Parry grew up in Canada and was in the military until Calamity rose. Parry is here in Buffalo to hopefully join the AHE anyone who will accept him.

is this a new epic? if so do you want to join my faction. we pay double plus 10% more than any other faction in cookies.

If someone offered to pay me 210% of my current wages, but it’s in cookies, I’m not sure I would take the offer.

Also, now I’m tempted to make an epic with the sole power of making infinite cookies.

Interestingly, it is mentioned in Steelheart that there aren’t any Eric that can create gold.

yes you say it dot and spell it . and the time glitches are basically just like little moments that are one to two seconds where everybody but him is paused in time he can add other people to the time glitch if  he wants to but he usually doesn't, however his power can also sometimes pause him instead, time’s a little more likely to pause if he's in danger but not much he can sometimes but not usually control when one starts or stops and he has a watch that keeps track of that can keep track of time while he's inside a Time glitch also when he is paused he is fully aware of everything happening he just can't do anything about it because everything but his mind has been removed from the flow of time

sorry about the big paragraph.

I'll have to defer to @Aeoryi to see if that's allowed. Time powers are generally a bit iffy. I'm ok with the idea of a 1-2 second pause, which would basically grant him a short-distance blink ability, or something similar to a speed boost ability. As long as there's limits on how many people he can bring along with the small time glitch (like he has to be touching a person or object for it to be brought along), I think it could be fine?

For the second part where his power pauses him, how would that work from an outside perspective? The second part is the only thing that I'm not 100% sure on.

To bring someone into a Time glitch he has to be able to see them and he can only be bring in one or two at a time, during the time glitch he can interact with objects and they just kind of drop into the time glitch with him if he does and they also lose any previous momentum, interacting with a person does not bring them into the time glitch. when he gets paused to everyone else it looks the same as him looking at people from inside a Time glitch and them interacting with him works the same also and small objects in a one foot radius from him also tend to get affected.

and again sorry for the big long paragraph.

Your paragraphs are fine! Have you seen how much I wrote for Fish

So if he gets paused, does that mean he's just there frozen? If someone were to try to move him or shoot him or something, would anything happen?

yeah he's just there Frozen if you try to move him or shoot him then he'll move as far as you keep pushing him and the bullet will hit him and go as far through as it normally would and he won't bleed to death I just stay there pause with him until he unpauses this also applies to what would happen if he interacts with people while he's inside of a time glitch*

*time glitch means when everyone else is paused, just to be clear, I'm not sure what to call him being paused.
