@Lord Spirit @TheFrugalWizard I would highly suggest you change your most recent posts because of this. Especially because Aeo hasn't done anything with Sundew that would even suggest at her weakness. It simply doesn't make sense regardless.

Not angry, just pointing it out! Character sheets are for reference, but your characters might not know every detail about a character. I'd say that if you're not sure how much the public would know about someone's character, I'd PM them and ask. Notably, Sundew is very hidden away, so not a lot of people would know about her powers, as Aeo somewhat alluded to in Aeo's post.

I’ll change them

So I was thinking, and it seems that right now:

How everyone perceives the power dynamic:

Sundew --- Fish

----- Everyone else (or lower  )

The actual power dynamic if you read closely about their powers:

Sundew (Aeo and I agree she'd 1v1 Fish and win)

          ---

          --- Fish!

                    ------ Everyone else (or lower)

And so with that amazing visual representation, I'm giving Fish minor water manipulation to help him get back on Sundew's level (have you seen her character sheet? She has 4 powers, including a PI). Plus someone in the RP mentioned water and Fish and Fish affecting the water or something? So I figure it works out. It's not like he'd use it for much other than show or perhaps practical and helpful uses. Speak up now if you disagree or think Fish should be more powerful

Sundew is from the RP where several extremely powerful Epics, including an assumer, managed to get approved, so she's on a way higher level. Fear Sundew :) Join Fish!

Reading through the game so far and it's awesome!

@Aeternum I have a character idea that jumped at me related with Fish, if you feel it would mesh with your concept.

Essentially, it's a minor epic with the power to turn his arms into blades. The relation bit is he's the younger brother of Fish, and sort of revels in an elevated status. Imagine the cocky sibling/son of the big bad vibe essentially, who has a pseudo immunity because his brother is so powerful.

If you don't think it fits, that's fine. I can have them as a separate entity too.

Spoiler

Swordfish

Real/Pre-calamity name: Alston Nomlas

Age: late 20s

Gender: Male

Primary Power:  Turning his hands into blades, which he can swing around as lethal weapons.

Other powers: Minor increased strength and constitution, allowing him to bash at others with his hands turned blades and weather hits more effectively. Bullets will still hurt him, leaving serious bruises but a single one won't kill him, though multiple definitely could.

Weakness: Cockroaches. A handful of these creepy crawlies on him is enough to nullify his abilities.

Personality: Alston is the spoiled younger sibling of Fish, and he takes full advantage of this fact. Cocky, gallivanting around like he owns the city, he believes no one would dare touch the younger brother of Fish. The only one he fears is his brother, and puts on the act of the dutiful sibling, loyal and true before him. But internally he seethes with feelings envy and hatred towards his brother, both cursing the fact he is forced to rely on him while coveting his throne.

Backstory: Alston grew up in the shadow of his brother. He followed his brother into swimming, only to struggle to break into the top ten of all his meets. He burnt the midnight oil studying, only to meet his brothers marks while he put in more effort. When Calamity hit, he was ecstatic - finally he could show his brother up. But even there, he quickly came to learn his power was only secondary his brother. He quickly embraced the role as his brother's loyal follower - in fact, the only one in the city who he could really trust, because they were Epics, and they were blood. And who else could you trust, except blood?

Power looks good! I hate to shoot down this part because I love the idea a lot, but unfortunately, I'm pretty sure that Epics kill off most of their family. Perhaps there's something similar to a protégé that would work? Fish kinda would murder everyone who ever knew him (good thing they would live in California, according to his backstory). If you can think of anything that would work, let me know.

(Also you forgot to add a weakness! :))

Looking forward to it! There's a list of current ones somewhere around here if you're wondering what characters everyone has.

@RoyalBeeMage Do you want another for your faction? I... really want to make another character...

the more the better. earth/metal/fire or lava inspiration is the most ideal but i don't really mind. would even accept a water epic at this point.

Uh, expect a very annoying and very powerful Epic (Aeternum aka "What Even Is A Minor Epic") who is probably based off of a video game...

@Aeternum I think something like a protege could work, if Fish would have one of those. How does the modified backstory sound?

Spoiler

Swordfish

Real/Pre-calamity name: Alston James

Age: early 20s

Gender: Male

Primary Power:  Turning his hands into blades, which he can swing around as lethal weapons.

Other powers: Minor increased strength and constitution, allowing him to bash at others with his hands turned blades and weather hits more effectively. Bullets will still hurt him, leaving serious bruises but a single one won't kill him, though multiple definitely could.

Weakness: Rubber stamps. Getting marked with a rubber stamp using any sort of ink or dye would nullify his powers until the ink or dye is scrubbed off.

Personality: Swordfish is the young protege of Fish, and he takes full advantage of this fact. Cocky, gallivanting around like he owns the city, he takes advantage of his in with Fish to cajole other Epic sycophants into doing his bidding. The only one he fears and respects is Fish himself, seeing the man almost as a sort of elder brother and mentor to him. But mixed with these feelings of respect are those that Fish may becoming soft and his methods archaic as time passes, as more he sees more and more vipers emerge from the grass to bite at the high Epic's heels.

Backstory: A Buffalo local, Alston was always ambitious. As a student, he participated in athletics, and burnt the midnight oil for his academics. Yet he always seemed to fall behind those who were more naturally athletic, naturally gifted, or naturally charismatic than him. When Calamity hit, and he gained his Epic powers, the initial high faded once it seemed yet again he'd been given the short end of the stick. It was around this time the Epic known as Fish started to establish himself in Buffalo. Swordfish decided do whatever he needed to so he could get into Fish's good graces. Starting a minor epic in Fish's shock forces, he rose in the ranks with his numerous kill count, volunteering for dangerous missions no one else wanted to take, and dirtying his hands with the blood of numerous non-epics and epics alike. As a result, the eye of the big Fish fell onto the ambitious Epic - and with it came the associated perks and drawbacks of being in Fish's inner circle, his protege.

@Lord Spirit, just so you know, Plastique is going to end up at the docks at the same time Fish (and maybe Swordfish) is, assuming Fish is on time.

New character!

Spoiler

Epic Name: Shaper

Real/Pre-calamity name: Eric Staunton

Age: 38

Gender: male

Primary Power: shapes the fog around him into objects. (No limitations other than the fact that he can only shape within his dome of fog)

Other powers: creates thick fog around himself. (Roughly 15 meters across, and gets thicker the closer to him. Greatly enhanced senses

Weakness: wood smoke

Personality: outgoing, generally chipper, talkative.

Backstory: Is Phalanx’s brother. Was a woodworker of some renown, and his shop burned to the ground. He had been mute since the fire after the smoke nearly choked him to death. He and his brother never had a great relationship. John had always been the smart one, while Eric was always the artistic one, and both had been jealous of each other’s skill. Neither know that the other is an Epic. When Eric graduated from high school, Eric moved to the farthest part of the country from his family he could think of: California. He made a reasonable profit, and lived a decent life in California. When he became an epic, he was at a party with some friends, and all the people close to him died in the fog. Eric had no idea what was happening, and fled out of the party. He went to Buffalo.

I like it! Is he able to make the fog into a physical barrier?

Also don't forget that most Epics tend to murder their family :) iirc.
