"You have to pay for that!" Dilsha called belatedly after him, sighing. The kitchen was empty, of people at least. A pot of stew bubbled on the stove.

Alex stuck his finger in the stew, then tasted it. “Needs more salt. And you know I will,” he yelled over his shoulder at Dilsha.

"Of course," Dilsha said, wiping her hands on her apron. She handed him a key. "It'll be 3 coppers each night."

Dilsha nodded. "Same price." She handed him a key as well.

He gave her six. "For your trouble."

Currency is...ah...just like...basic fantasy? Copper, then silver, then gold?

Spoiler

You can have a character with basically the same powers, but I would call it something different so that this doesn't become another Clinic or Alleyverse :)

See ya Aeo!

There's a door between the kitchen and the main room, just fyi.

"don't--" Dilsha sighed. "Terribly sorry about him."

Dilsha's eyes widened. "Thank you kindly, sir. If I can do anything for you, don't hesitate to let me know." Six lousy coppers...and he thinks it's a gift? It must be so terrible not to have money.

My mind went to dnd, 10 copper to a silver, ten silver to a gold? Also, your character now has a nickname.

"Don't what, Dil?" Alex reached over and plucked a steaming piece of pork off of a plate, then wolfed it down.

"Just a moment," Dilsha said to the people at the bar. She turned and walked into the kitchen. "Don't stick your dirty fingers into the dinner others are paying to eat," she hissed. Peasants...so disgusting. She smacked his wrist away and carefully added a tiny pinch of salt to the stew. "I'm not above throwing you out."

I was actually planning for Alex to be a noble.

"Fine, fine." Alex walked around the bar and stood in front of the small countertop. "I'd like to order one pot of stew."

xD that's actually awesome...Dilsha just assumes everyone she meets is ranked lower than her...in her defense, she's almost always right.

Dilsha decided she didn't like him. Still, customers were customers. It was nice to see the inn so bustling, even if the sight of so many peasants made her want to scrub her skin raw just so she could feel clean again.

Just got in a 3v1 argument like always with my friends. I was obviously the 1. Like always.

Is this still open to join? I was asleep when it started. Also if any of my lore doesn't work tell me and it'll get changed.

His Highness Wilhelm Midius, Prince of Nothing, threw open the door and briskly walked in. Several people batted an eye. He didn't blame them. One didn't wear gilded armor and a long bloodred cape and then expected to blend in.

Blending in was not his intention however, indeed his purposes were quite the opposite. The King, royal family, and entire court all expected him to sulk. So decay them, he would sulk. They all expected the frivolous prince to waste his time getting wasted after being so suddenly disowned.

Little did they know this was what he had wanted. Little did they know he had been planning and waiting for this time. Little did they know he would seek his revenge, and true justice would be served.

. . . But first he needed to find a place to stay the night.

Will made his way into the room and glanced around. It was certainly very . . . rustic.

He made a rather imposing figure, with his sharp white and gold armor, previously mentioned cape, and perfectly styled golden hair. 3 large scratch-like scars cut down over his right eye.

Not an easily mistaken face. People would see him here, and they would talk, but that only furthered his illusion of sulking.

Will had, of course, heard of the Decay now affecting the palace, but he didn't give a rot. He had been long gone by the time it had struck. Every rotting one of them could go and decay off the face of the earth for all he cared. It would further his own plans, even.

He slid up to the bar, pushing past the small crowd of people there. It wasn't difficult, people tended to suddenly have other business that needed attending to when he ran into them. Who wanted to be seen with the fallen Prince?

"I would like a room, ma'am." He did his best to be polite. Just because one was on a quest of vengeance didn't give one an excuse to ignore the common pleasantries. He set a solid gold bar on the counter for good measure.

Looks good!

…hehehe, Dilsha is a foreign princess who was studying at the palace as a part of an alliance. We could have fun with this.

Dilsha raised an eyebrow at the gold bar. That was almost half as much as her daily allowance back home. “Of course, uh, your highness.” She almost giggled, but years of diplomacy lessons held it in. Her. Calling someone “your highness”. The novelty was wonderful. “Would you like a meal first, a drink maybe?”

“Another fallen noble?” Alex said, walking over. He eyed the gold bar. A substantial amount.

He smiled, Will could be charming when he wanted to be. "Oh, there's no need for titles, I'm no longer a Prince, as I'm sure you know."

The mention of food made his stomach turn. Will was hungry, very hungry, so hungry it made him sick. But that was a problem for another time. He adjusted the gauntlets of his armor, there were thick leather gloves underneath, and thin satin ones under those. He was still nervous. No matter how much he covered It up, It would still be there. And he would still be hungry.

"No thank you, I don't need any food." He hesitated a second, she looked familiar.

Would Will recognize her?
