“BOOOOOOOOOOO!” Aubrey yells before putting her hand to her mouth. “Erm, maybe I shouldn’t have done that.”

Lord Miros gives her an inquisitive look, then tapped his cane on the ground multiple times. "Hurry up now, time is limited."

“Hello, is someone here?” Seth asked warily.

The girl did not respond, scared of Seth, and began to slowly walk away, her eyes not moving from him.

Seth shrugged, then sat down, waiting.

“Alright then…I’m going to get some fresh air.” Seth moved away from the man, out through the front doors. He saw something slink into the shadows. He slid over, looking closer.

By the way, and this is a general thing, but Envoy isn't exempt from romance entirely, though it may be a difficult pursuit.

There was an overwhelming sense of wrongness about the man, though without a particular reason. It was pervasive for a while after their interaction.

Seth sat on the stairs up to the entrance, waiting for something to happen.

Lord Miros looked over his shoulder and saw Seth, and then muttered, "Finally someone understands."

It was at this moment, that the doors to the ballroom opened and announced the arrival of Lord Miros.

"My dear friends! I am Lord Miros!" He exclaimed, "I come from the hometown of the king himself, and have come to save you all."

Assorted whispers of various things flooded throughout the ballroom.

"That's right. Because you, yes you, all of you, are in grave danger. And I have been instructed by the king to save you all. And that starts by ending this ball. We have not the time for romance and soliciting and politics! We have a world to save!"

London, where we are right now, is the king's hometown-

Yes, but...

If it'll make sense eventually, it'll make sense, I suppose.

Just- right now.. it don't make logical sense.

I apologize

I missed 4 pages and I’m not reading them.

Can my magic be an AoE where all the men in range of it are somewhat attracted to my character and all the women are slightly repulsed? Pleeeease? My character is straight by the way.

Lord Tristan Farnon woke from a drunken slumber, collapsed in a chair. His first thought, as usual, was “I need something to drink.”  And, as usual, his second thought was “oh h*ll, my head!”

I hope me using swear words every once in a while doesn’t bother anyone. Let me know if there is a shard guideline against it… or wait is there a filter that will handle it for me?

sorry i'm late!!! i didn't see this!!

A dainty, light-footed and delicate figure stepped out of a carriage, as a footman held open the door. She was in a long vermillion red gown, pressed tightly to her body before falling around her ankles and sweeping the floor. Her face was hidden underneath a cream shawl that covered her head and fell eloquently upon her shoulders. Her hair was visible only when occasionally uncovered by the shawl's folds. It was a glossy, vibrant brown adorned with jewels. Her hair was clearly waved but pressed into ringlets and pulled into a neat, sophisticated bun. The sides of her face, though unseen, were framed with such ringlets. The gates swung open and she stepped into the ball. In one hand was a purse, in the other was a small, crystal alcohol glass.

She immediately got a sense of off-ness. Primarily, it came from the oddly dressed, masked man in the corner.

The young woman appeared to have no reaction. Though her fingers clutched her purse tighter, not many could notice. Beneath her shawl, there was a small, tight smile. But with a quick glance behind her, she stilled. There could be none of that behavior. Not in front of.... him.

I stand in front of a mirror, in a long big gown with many itchy layers. It's truly my worst nightmare.

"J’ai l’air tellement-" My father swats at me from behind.

"What was that?" His voice is stern. He stumble to find words.

"French... sir-"

"I'll have none of that, thank you." He walks to the side of me.

"Nobody will marry an immigrants child." He eyes me. "Look at me." I turn my head to him.

"You forget every single thing your mother taught you, no french, no hard work or labor, I'll not let you do any of that. No ma'am." He points to the mirror and I follow his finger.

"From now on you are an aristocrat. Clementine Ashcroft, from the House of Ashcroft." I nod.

"Yes, sir." He holds out his arm for me to link.

"Now I think it's time I go introduce you to some acquaintances." He leads me out, making our way to the ball.

A tall wealthy looking man follows behind her. He sticks close to her. When she steps in he presses against her back and reaches forward, taking her glass right from her hand and downing the shot. He places the glass back in her hand, placing his other hand firmly around her waist and squeezing it tightly.

"Such a lovely place, hmm dear?"

Hmm... interesting.

Keep doing what you're doing, but hopefully someone shows up who can interact a bit.

"Lovely," she said bitterly underneath her breath. As he took the glass, her free hand quickly shot up to her shawl, tugging on it slightly to cover more of her hidden face.

Hehe. By the way, your character and any other new arrivals will get the same sense of wrongness from Envoy. All black, white mask covering the bottom half of his face.

He leans down behind her, right against her left cheek, he peeks up her shawl slightly.

"Are you hiding now? What if I want to see your... beautiful face." He tries to pull it up slightly.

"Stop," she hissed, "Please, stop."

She began meaninglessly talking to herself, "I can't have them know. No one can know."
