I-

fine.

"It says here that his Highness would also like a wine?" the servant said with a dry smile. "Perhaps you did talk to him, but, alas, if you know his Grace, then you also would be acquainted with his... habits."

Some of this is drawn from historical stuff.

Also, feel free to reprimand the servant- He's not doing his job.

"If I may ask, what is your role at this party, to serve the King himself wine?"

Just now, Ookla of Ravens said:

Richard strides over to the servant. "good day. what was it that you said about the Highness?" he asks.

"What is my role?" The servant asked haughtily. "I and others direct the lesser servants. Who is to bring this Lord his wine? Who is to fetch this Lady's coat? I make sure that the people who are to do that know they are to do it precisely when the Lordships would like them. Which is, most often, nearly instant. My job is to know the preferences of those here." The servant seemed ahead of himself as he continued elaborating on the excellency of his position.

Lord Miros collected the scroll from the table. "Then perhaps you understand it is your job, not mine, to administer the swift end to this ball that the king has ordered."

"There is no need to make a scene," The servant sniffed. "Fine, then. We will end the ball. But if I find that this was never ordered by the King..."

Sir Jeff Geoff of Somerset strolled over. Although he didn't usually participate in the dealings of the court, it would be an awful shame if the ball was cancelled and he would not be able to observe the people any longer.

"Is there a problem here, my nobles?"

Envoy glanced at him briefly from the corner.

Oh. OH. The law. Not me, right? Yeah, I haven't broken any laws? "Same," Owen said, chuckling nervously. "I love obeying laws." You. Are. SO. AWKWARD.

“That’s good. I would hate to court a criminal. Not that we’d be courting, of course! No. Definitely not.”

Owen blushes. "Yeah, no way. That'd be awful. Not that you're awful. Or that I'd object. I wouldn't, no. But we wouldn't be courting, yeah. Definitely not."

"The ball is over, why yes."

Lord Miros nodded, then gave him the scroll. "I understand it may be hard to believe, but desperate measures take place in desperate times."

"Ah, yes. The matter of the falling star." Sir Jeff Geoff of Somerset read the scroll, inspecting it closely. "Tell me, Lord Miros, do you know why the King ordered the end of this ball? If it is as they say, and the world is ending, then should we not eat, drink, and be merry?"

"I know part of the reason," Lord Miros said, "But for farther clarification you would have to go to the King himself. And I'm sure we wouldn't want to plague him with unnecessary demeanors." He smiled at the end of the sentence.

Sir Jeff Geoff of Somerset sighed. "Very well." He handed Miros back his scroll. "It seems there is nothing more I can do."

Seth looks at the peasant woman. She looked so underfed…should he bring her food? He went back to the ball, then grabbed some food for both of them, and went back. He nudged  the girl awake.

Miros took the scroll. "Perhaps if you could spread word of this, that would make the ending of this ball more hasty."
