You sink about waist deep, you quickly realize you have fallen on a patch of quick sand. The sand is incredibly hot, almost hurtful to the touch. You need to get out quickly before you are burned. @Lotus Blossom

She slowly brought her legs above the surface of the quicksand, and used very small movements to push her body slowly back to "shore."

She tries her best to catch up with the others. I need a partner! As her confidence grows, she moves a little quicker, but is still behind Jock.
