Musicspren he/him Posted March 26, 2012 Posted March 26, 2012 I'm dying laughing. Literally dying. That was amazing! Literally dying? Completely literally? The Hero of Ages is (literally) dying? Clearly both Kelsier and Moiraine have been victorious...over Chaos! And yes, that was indeed amazing, and I laughed through basically the whole "fight." Something that might make them more equal in a fight (the sort where they actually try to kill each other), depending on how their magic systems interacted, is if copper shielded Kelsier from the One Power (just as it shields the one burning it from emotional allomancy). That's somewhat of a long shot, but if it worked, it could make attacking Kelsier like attacking Mat + Medallion. And Kelsier would have a lot more attacking ability than Mat. 1

Triasmus Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 (edited) So... was Kelsier just saying things about spikes 'cause he could, or was it a possible cosmere clue that hemalurgy might be able to bring back the dead? EDIT: or something along those lines... Edited March 27, 2012 by Lantern13
lyssie95 she/her Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 So... was Kelsier just saying things about spikes 'cause he could, or was it a possible cosmere clue that hemalurgy might be able to bring back the dead? EDIT: or something along those lines... I certainly feel like that was a hint-drop. That'd be cool, anyway. But I want Kell to win, as of this moment he is about 500 behind. I know that it is entirely to early to be really worried, but I feel like most of Brandons fans were prolly WoT folks first...

We can not only vote for both, but we have the ability to even the score. I'd love to see this end as a tie, not just to mess up the bracket, but to prove that Sanderfans reign supreme. (and we'll sick the spike-bearing admins on anyone who says otherwise) 1
Eerongal he/him Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 looks like its going to be moraine vs rake in the next round provided some sort of upset in either match. Both have a very significant lead against their opponents.
Voidus Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I think that clearly this match should end by the Dark one interacting with preservation causing a reaction which destroys all other participants in the competition but preserves Kelsier and Moiraine forever.

Voidus Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 The question becomes, does Moiraine know to avoid Dragnipur? My guess would be that like any cage match involving a Channeler, this will be solved with Balefire
CrazyRioter she/her Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 because any problem can be solved with enough balefire - just balefire the person who caused the problem hard enough that they cease to exist before they caused the problem!

Tulir he/him Posted March 27, 2012 Posted March 27, 2012 I had to give myself a couple of minutes to type this after I read that, Erongal. It is EXTREMELY funny.
dhalagirl she/her Posted March 30, 2012 Author Posted March 30, 2012 Even though the voting was supposed to end yesterday, it's still open. Time to get in some last minute votes. Right now it looks like Moiraine, Kylar, Rake, and Granny Weatherwax will advance to the next round.
Tulir he/him Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 And Moraine has over 4 thousand votes, way more than anyone else.
Voidus Posted March 30, 2012 Posted March 30, 2012 Yeah but that was between Moiraine and Kelsier, I think that that once the others start facing eachother they'll start getting a lot more votes.
dhalagirl she/her Posted April 3, 2012 Author Posted April 3, 2012 The new brackets are up. Right now Moiraine is in the lead but it's close and Rake has a strong following. She's going to need every vote we can muster in order to get her to the finals. I'd love to see her go up against Kylar in the finals. That would be epic. Jordan/Sanderson vs. Weeks. It's almost like pitting brother against brother.
Arcanist Lupus he/him Posted April 3, 2012 Posted April 3, 2012 I'm still hoping that Granny can pull through, but it's looking increasingly unlikely.

Eerongal he/him Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 so i dont know if anyone is still paying attention, but the final is down to Moiraine vs Kylar
Shivertongue he/him Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Anomander Rake went down. Take that, you boring, overpowered idiot! 1
Eerongal he/him Posted April 7, 2012 Posted April 7, 2012 Anomander Rake went down. Take that, you boring, overpowered idiot! by a pretty good margin, too. I'm sad that Granny lost, though. I would have loved to see both granny and zaphod make it to the finals, that would be a heck of a match, but they both went down
