TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 29, 2014 Author Posted July 29, 2014 Oh great. Now I'm wondering what a crossover where Pinkie Pie meets Doctor Funtimes would be like. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Oh great. Now I'm wondering what a crossover where Pinkie Pie meets Doctor Funtimes would be like. They're pretty much the same person... parallel universes, anyone? I guess this makes Nathan the human equivalent of Gummy the Alligator? 3
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 They're pretty much the same person... parallel universes, anyone? I guess this makes Nathan the human equivalent of Gummy the Alligator? In that case, is Lightwards like an evil, male version of Twilight Sparkle? Or is he more like Nightmare Moon? Evil Zecora is a possibility too.... Nighthound always struck me as the King Sombra type. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 In that case, is Lightwards like an evil, male version of Twilight Sparkle? Focused... check. Studious... check. Followed around by undead servants... um, I guess? Name with the word "light" in it... check. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Focused... check. Studious... check. Followed around by undead servants... um, I guess? Name with the word "light" in it... check. Voidgaze so far kind of strikes me as an Epicsverse Fluttershy, with slightly more confidence. So that's three of the Mane Six we've got so far, plus a villain and a pet alligator with an odd way of blinking. Now we just need Applejack, Rarity, and Rainbow Dash, and we will have our feet firmly planted in a parallel universe. 2
Edgedancer he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Okay, here you have you Epicverse Fluttershy. It is now official that Voidgaze it the best Epic. I could have used Nighthound but I didn´t want to be added to the people you don´t want to meet in a dark alley. I wonder, if we should tell Quiver about the Epic ponies. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I wonder, if we should tell Quiver about the Epic ponies. He's on a week-long hiatus right now. I've been amusing myself with the thought of him coming back and finding a bunch of major posters strutting around with pony profile pics. 2
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 "Are those background ponies? I think I would've noticed a background pony with four different colors in her mane and tail...you'd think she'd have a fanbase by now...." It will be amusing, that's for sure. 2
Edgedancer he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I´m already excited. Maybe I should switch to Nighthound until he returns, his looks are more flashy. Getting Joe to be a pony also just became a lot more important. But his reaction will be glorious. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Since he seems to favor Sightline (he's just so much nicer-sounding than a chap called CorpseMaker) ponifying Sightline just became much more important.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Also, if you want to give NH a cutie mark, a dog sitting obediently would work. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 I'm trying to think of cutie marks for main characters... Altermind could perhaps have a brain, and Sightline a pair of eyes? Obvious kobold is obvious.
Edgedancer he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 A brain, huh? That could look a bit weird, how about some puzzle pieces. Maybe, you could give Sightline a (pair of) dice as his cutie mark, Joe does like those and he gave Sightline the non-Epic name Joe. Apart from that I have to admid that I have trouble picturing Sightline.
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 (edited) Here's Sightline! The cutie mark is a leaping wolf, which seemed appropriate given his style of taking down powerful Epics. (That, and I couldn't find a pair of dice with a transparent background.) TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Heh. We like to write. A lot. :/ How far are you?
Kobold King he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Heh. We like to write. A lot. :/ How far are you? I'm on Page 6 now--pretty cool stuff! Soon after that I reach the point where Lightwards comes in, and I'm pretty up-to-date on what happens after that. Then it will be back to staring at the computer screen for a week until all the other players come back. But I digress, it's best to keep the game at as slow a pace as need be. We might need to look into that subplot idea some more, though. 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 Well, a Travelwards ship is a possibility.... Although I'm more of a Lightmaker shipper myself. But yes, I agree that a subplot would help alleviate the boredom. 1
Kobold King he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 But yes, I agree that a subplot would help alleviate the boredom. A midnight stroll? An extended dream sequence? Perhaps Lightwards, forever impatient, convenes with Traveller in the middle of the night to discuss strategy? Perhaps a bit of collaborative story-telling, showing the people of Portland settling nervously in their beds across Portland. showing the repercussions of Epic turf wars on daily life?
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 We could combine 1, 3, and 4 into a midnight stroll where Lightwards and the Traveler talk strategy while the inhabitants of Portland settle down for the night. My extended dream sequences tend to get weird. 1

My extended dream sequences tend to get weird. Weird, at the very least, is a great way to pass the time. I've always wondered what goes on in Funtimes' head when nopony nobody is around... It's hard to see why Lightwards and Traveler would choose to go on a stroll at midnight, though. (For that matter, I can't see Nathan wanting anything to do with an Epic unless Funtimes was also near.) Funtimes, Traveler, and Lightwards are pretty much narratively paralyzed until morning. The only plot hooks I see are the possibilities of a romantic liaison between Nathan and Funtimes, with Lightwards cackling maniacally into his mirror from the other end of the hall. TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 "It all started when the Great Noodly One sent me out into spaaaaace and a UFO manned by sentient newts all named Jerry picked me up and they bathed me in chili! And then the Great Noodly One himself decided to kill all the newts so they turned me into a giant cat and I shot strawberry milk out of my paws and then I made armor out or pancakes and that's when I woke up!" Big. Blank. Stare. Yeah, it'd devolve into ten pages of increasingly flimsy excuses. The liaison idea ... Think of the CHILDREN!!!! and the other players. We don't want to scare them off hen they all get back. 2
Kobold King he/him Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Think of the CHILDREN!!!! and the other players. We don't want to scare them off hen they all get back. Probably for the best. A Funtimes love scene would probably violate forum (and sanity) regulations, and I can only think of like, eight synonymous phrases for "Lightwards cackled madly into his mirror." 1
TwiLyghtSansSparkles she/her Posted July 30, 2014 Author Posted July 30, 2014 We'd have to get creative with the censorship. VERY creative. More than conveniently placed shrubbery and penguins. 2
