Yup (mad scientist me has the power of comedy to protect him, and is not the wisest of people). In retrospect, there were many problems with my plan. Hence, once I ensure I haven’t been horribly irradiated, I set to work on a new device - one that will simply turn off the strong nuclear force instead. This is, of course, a brilliant idea that will not end horribly at all. 

Ahh, but electromagnetic repulsion does not exist in the field.

Also, I'm kind of assuming that the Strong Nuclear force does function on larger scales, just it's extremely weak...

I think a Strong Nuclear Force amplification field on top of removing electromagnetism would work.

I think this also stops making the particles behave like baryons and juss makes it a soup of quarks

If a particle ever leaves the field... it would not do much. And it may, by random chance, re-enter the field.

So SIM may lose mass extremely slowly over time.
