Saaphir kept pace with Ji, not having time to sheathe his sword as he chased after Ne’ik and his companion.

Elya let out a breath. That made things a bit easier, at the least. She checked under all the bandages, prepared to replace each one, but ended up throwing each away and leaving the wounds to sit. The scar tissue was pale and new, but it was there. The marks of old scabs, uncontrolled infections, and heavy bleeding were everywhere--it really did look like they'd been there for months in a moment.

After cleaning off the blood, adding a bit more antiseptic just in case, and removing the stitching she'd added, Elya took a seat on her own cot. She, too, was incredibly exhausted; but she could wait for Ji to get back, at the very least. For now she took off her jacket and quietly stitched up all the holes it had accumulated recently--at least there weren't any large bloodstains this time.

Lyanör stirred awake and sleepily pushed herself up onto one arm, looking over at Elya. "Do you need anything? I can keep watch if you want to get some sleep."

Raviid slowly followed after Elya, his condition gradually improving with each step he took. By the time he reached the room, he looked nearly back to normal. Stepping in as Lyanor spoke, he responded."I'll keep an eye out while you both rest. I'm in no shape for anything drastic at the moment, but I can at least let your sleep go by a little faster."

"Both of you need more rest than I. If you can't sleep at least stay put, but I'm the only one fighting ready." Elya looked at both of them. "But if you must, you can stay up with me."

Ne’ik cursed, running faster. He looked behind him to see Arekon hot on his tail, and the Mystics not far behind. “Blight,” he said breathlessly, “I’d almost forgotten about them.”

“Who are they?”

“Mystics. Just were holding me captive.”

“Blight, Ne’ik. You always did seem to get yourself into trouble, didn’t you?”

Storming autocorrect

Ji pushed himself, sprinting faster and catching up; although, the exhaustion of what he's already done earlier and the bullet wounds he'd completely forgotten about were peeking through. He huffed, black creeping in at the edges of his vision. His lungs burned, but he continued to run.

Twisting and turning to follow, his wounds throbbed painfully, blood streaming down and soaking through his pants. Ji pulled his hand back, a spirit copy of a long sword appearing after a moment of concentration. He thrust his hand forward. The apparition became more solid, and zipped towards Ne'ik, ignoring the other as it stabbed itself in Ne'ik's ankle.

Drowning out the nearby cries of shock and calls to order that echoed from multiple streets over, Locke purposefully drove himself onward as he quickly walked back towards the city slums.

After having retrieved his letter of leverage and misguiding hope elsewhere, Locke had taken time to think over his conversation with Ji as he began to wander through the walkways once more. To his surprise though, there had been another flagrant attack on the Pacis; it was under similar circumstances as the attack from the previous day, with a group of mystics attacking a nearby Pacis outpost; only this time it had been much worse.

Locke had seen the lifeless corpses in the streets. He had seen the frustration in the Pacis as they sought to retain order among the sudden chaos. He had seen the onlookers and civilians being driven back by the officers in an attempt to obtain such order. He had seen the rioters and thrill-seekers begin to push back against the Pacis. Now, the Pacis were beginning to sweep the nearby streets, attempting to subdue any further revolts or outcries of injustice within the section of the city.

The attack on the outpost wasn’t big enough to incite total anarchy among the people of Zvso, but it felt as though all of the wrong strings were being pulled, and a haunting tension was drawn tight in the air.

Pressing onward, Locke’s eyes were set straight ahead. His gaze was not that of a chaotic inferno, but a single flame. One flame, which had long been hidden within ash and ember, now alight once more and condensed into its purest form: controlled fury- passion.

Turning the final corner, Locke looked up at the abandoned hospital as he began making his way towards it.

He looked up at the new person, then stood a bit taller, his summoned blade poised to fight.

Arekon growled, unsheathing his swords and lunging at the Mystic. What kind of Blighted sorcery did he just use in Ne’ik? I’ve never seen him taken down so easily.

Ji sidestepped, narrowly avoiding the attacker. He growled, his veins glowing in response. A couple more blades materialized, zipping and slashing at the newcomer.
