Channelknight Fadran Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 "I don't wish him further harm either." Elya reached into her jacket, pulling out a single dart to hand to him. "Funnily enough, I would like to provide him some answers too."
#1 Taln Fan he/him Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Saaphir held up the dart. “What am I supposed to do, throw it at him? Or do you have some type of gun for this.”
Channelknight Fadran Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 "I always throw them," Elya replied. "It should have him completely paralyzed within a minute or two; longer, if he knows how to counteract the poison."
Fallapede Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 Raviid had stayed quiet and relatively still for the past several minutes, but now he stirred suddenly. "Have you considered that you might accomplish more with less... traumatic methods?", he asked, dusting himself off and slipping out of Ji's arms.
Channelknight Fadran Posted January 19, 2022 Posted January 19, 2022 "It's only a muscle relaxant. It'll wear off after a few hours."

If you can't capture him, then stay here. Help Ji take care of our wounded." @Mystic Syn "Hang on now." He quickly shot a glare at Verim before looking back at Elya, folding his arms. "I'm not one that's going to sit back with everyone again while you go do whatever," Ji snarled. "I don't know if you have noticed, but I'm better at combat than healing. I don't think what I can do can heal people."
Channelknight Fadran Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 "Alright. You go with this newcomer and recover the prisoner."
#1 Taln Fan he/him Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 “This newcomer has a name, you know.” Saaphir said. “The name is Saaphir. I’m fine going with whoever, if you send someone with me.”
Mystic Syn she/her Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 "Ji," he said to Saaphir, then looked back at Elya. "I will, then."
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 (edited) Bang! Bang! Bang! Ne'ik looked to see what the noise was, still darting through the street, but couldn't spy anything of significance. He turned back towards where he was going, and promptly slammed into a hooded figure. He reached for his blades instinctually, and upon realizing they weren't there, fell into a fighting stance. "Where the Blight did you come from?" Ne'ik asked as the stranger drew two long, gleaming swords from scabbards hidden beneath their cloak. They fell into a fighting stance that was somehow... familiar to Ne'ik. No, it couldn't be... Don't get your hopes up, Ne'ik. They're dead. All of them. "Ne'ik?" the stranger gasped, throwing back their hood and revealing a face that was strikingly similar to Ne'ik's. "Ary?" The man - Arekon - quickly sheathed his blades, and the two brothers embraced. "I thought you were dead, Ne'ik!" "I thought you were dead!" Ne'ik stepped back, grinning. "What about Mom? Dad? Anyone else from the compound?" Arekon slowly shook his head, and Ne'ik sighed. He felt the pain of their loss, which he'd forced back into the deepest reaches of his mind, resurface. An unbidden tear slipped down his cheek. "Ne'ik," Arekon said, his voice suddenly cold. "I saw something, when the compound was being attacked by those..." the man shuddered, unable to finish his sentence. "Anyway, I saw what you did. And I want you to tell me that it's not what I thought I saw." "W-what do you mean?" Ne'ik stepped back further, frowning. "Ary, you're scaring me a bit here. What do you think I did?" "I... um..." Arekon shuddered. "I thought I saw something. It was probably nothing. I mean..." "Ary, please be straight with me here." "Ne'ik. You were surrounded by the heathens, there was a building on fire, and I thought I saw you... reaching out with that fire and burning them. I was... probably delusional. I mean, you couldn't be a..." "I'm- I don't-" Now Ne'ik was the one stuttering. "Ne'ik, now you give it to me straight here. Are you a Mystic?" Quote Mmm, juicy exposition. Also, no, I couldn't think of a different name. Sue me. Also also, this would probably be a good time for you to show up. I don't think Ne'ik can run very fast, especially when he's trying to be sneaky. If it makes you happy, then by all means plus, it's also fun to write when you don't want to do schoolwork. I'm just waiting for Taln right now.
#1 Taln Fan he/him Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 Quote I is here! “Let’s get going then.” Saaphir said. Without waiting for the others to respond, he set off towards a side street, where he’d seen Ne’ik dissapear. She couldn’t have gone far.
Mystic Syn she/her Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 Ji rolled his eyes, then gave a mock salute to Elya before following Saaphir. He pulled up his hood and stuffed his hands in his pockets. "So," he said, breaking the silence. "Who did you think Ne'ik was before you stopped attacking and let him slip through your fingers?"
Channelknight Fadran Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 "Verim, if you can get yourself inside, just rest for now." Elya continued half-carrying Lyanor. "I'll see where you got her to." @Fallapede @DramaQueen
Fallapede Posted January 20, 2022 Posted January 20, 2022 "I'll be fine. I recover quickly." Raviid's condition had improved considerably in the past few minutes, though his skin was still a much paler shade than before.

I was convinced that Ne’ik was the killer. The two are practically identical, except for the eyes. I don’t know why he attacked your group, but I have no quarrel with him. I wonder if the killer is some relative. They really did look so similar. I just want answers, so I can find the real killer. Then, I’ll ram my sword through his heart.”

That made things a bit easier, at the least. She checked under all the bandages, prepared to replace each one, but ended up throwing each away and leaving the wounds to sit. The scar tissue was pale and new, but it was there. The marks of old scabs, uncontrolled infections, and heavy bleeding were everywhere--it really did look like they'd been there for months in a moment. After cleaning off the blood, adding a bit more antiseptic just in case, and removing the stitching she'd added, Elya took a seat on her own cot. She, too, was incredibly exhausted; but she could wait for Ji to get back, at the very least. For now she took off her jacket and quietly stitched up all the holes it had accumulated recently--at least there weren't any large bloodstains this time.

Mystic Syn she/her Posted January 20, 2022 Author Posted January 20, 2022 He grunted quietly in agreement, then peered over at Ne’ik. “Ne’ik,” he called out, motioning for Saaphir to lower his sword. “That you, buddy?”
Szeth Pancakes he/they Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 “I… no! Why… why would you even thi-” “Ne’ik, that you, buddy?” “Blight!” he hissed. “I’ve gotta go. Come with if you want.” Without waiting for a response, he bolted down the street.
