Lyanör watched in confusion, having zero clue what was going on.

"That's why I'm here," Locke replied calmly, "By all means, explain away."

"The fewer who know, the better." Elya pulled on her jacket, setting the clasp and putting away her knives. "You aren't going to get me to talk, so I recommend you leave. If Ni says you can stay, then you can wait outside until he returns."

Giving a wry smile, Locke shrugged his shoulders as he put his hands in his pockets.

"Very well," he responded calmly, "I can be patient."

Spinning nimbly off of the pillar he was leaning against, Locke turned and began walking towards the front exit in compliance. Pulling the small pack of cigarettes from his jacket, he removed one from the box with his teeth before placing the rest back into his pocket. Locke also pulled his lighter out of his pocket, but waited until he had stepped outside the building before he started smoking.

Returning his lighter to his jacket once the cigarette in his mouth began to burn, Locke let out a long, cloudy exhale as he stood on the stairs outside.

"It was worth a shot..." he mumbled to himself with a hint of amusement.

Then moving over to where he had been sitting on the steps earlier that day, Locke resumed his position of sitting cross-legged outside the hospital as he quietly looking up at the sky, his mind slowly turning to idle thoughts of empires and revolutions.

Elya let out a breath. She crossed her arms and hung her head, closing her eyes, suddenly very aware of just how tired she was.

Arekon gasped, collapsing. His training was extensive, but he should have known he couldn’t take two opponents at the same time. Especially if one was a Mystic.

There was an alarming amount of blood coming from his side. He sat up, head spinning. I should put a bandage in that… dying of blood loss would be… disadvantageous…

He blacked out.

Ji trudged into the hospital, Ne'ik in tow as he waited for Saaphir to come in. He looked outside for a second, then shook his head slightly as he closed the door softly behind him. He turned back to see Locke, his usual frown replacing his exhausted expression as he looked towards Elya for a second, then back to Locke. Ji shrugged slightly.

"Oh, hey," he said to Locke, walking past them with a slight limp. "You decided to come back."

Elya sprang from her seat, striding over to take Ne'ik and drop him onto the nearest cot. She then immediately started inspecting the blood soaking through his trousers.

"Why didn't you tell me you were wounded before you started going after them?"

Elya pressed her forearm onto his chest and pulled out his wounded leg. "Hold still."

Ji glared at her, his veins flickering, before going out as he laid his head back.

"Fine, whatever," he mumbled. "Not like I have a choice."

Bringing out the forceps and antiseptic, Elya quickly sterilized her tools and reached in to take out the bullet as quickly as possible.
