I really hate performance jitters, even if I’m just recording myself, because suddenly I’m not allowed to mess up—the take has to be perfect—and now I’m ten takes in. One wrong note in practice? Who cares. One wrong not while recording? Great, now the take’s ruined. And I don’t care about hearing the song over and over, but there’s others in the house, and I worry that I’m bothering them by playing the same thing over and over.

I lost all respect for Taco Bell et al. after I tried the local chain and they handed me a burrito the size of my forearm. (I am not a small man.)

I have a problem.
I'm working on a short story and I have a landed on names for both characters that fits them and the theme of the story well.
The only issue is I hate one of them with a passion and every time I skim the story and see the name there it's like getting shot in the face.

I love seeing people quote Maxims 2 & 3 from Schlock Mercenary in the wild. Seen it happen a few times now.
For reference, those are:
2) A sergeant in motion outranks a lieutenant who doesn’t know what’s going on.
3) An ordnance technician at a dead run outranks everybody. -
Ash fell from the sky…
There’s a fire close enough that, even though we’re not at ready to evacuate, it’s prudent to pack a bag just in case. Please pray for us, and especially for those who are closer to the fire as well as the firefighters.

Social media is filled with people who need to touch grass to an extent that I'm tempted to airdrop them into Yellowstone National Park. Parachute optional.

“Professor Plum, you were once a professor of psychiatry specializing in helping paranoid and homicidal lunatics suffering from delusions of grandeur.”
“Yes, but now I work for the United Nations.”
“So your work has not changed.”
