When Nin spoke to Szeth, Szeth mentioned the Shin had Shards and he would need Shards to fight them he said the Shinovar peoples Stone Shamans were powerful enough to reclaim the Honorblade from whoever had killed him. This seems to imply a great level of skill and not just Braggadocio. Also they are allowed to use weapons, it's just when they pick one up they have to live the rest of their lives as warrior.

Szeth is a great Swordsman. Stormlight doesn't give you skill just enhances you, the skill is all Szeths he is trained in a variety of Martial Arts, i find it hard to believe he didn't train with a sword. When he fought Kal he wasn't in his sane mind, he had had everything he new rocked, he couldn't heal from Shardblade wounds, his ability to use Stormlight was less proficient than Kaladins, his weapon wasn't cognizant and couldn't change into any form of weapon. I didn't mind Shallan growing as a character i like her but shes not in my top 5 SA Character i especially enjoyed seeing the Ghostblood chapters but she seemed rather inconsistent to me. One minute she's elaborating on how she hates confrontation, then slowly throttles the life out of her father but is scared to ask the captain to stop the ship or discovering she is an adrenaline junky, disposing of bones...Scared of Iyatil and calls a Chasmfiend chasing her cute.. ***Edit******Also Best parts ***** Hoid Schooling Amaram. Dalinar Schooling Amaram Adolin and Kal become Friends + Szeth PWNING EVERYBODY.

I don't dislike Adolin but I'm not that fond of him either but i have to give him props for noticing how despite Dalinar being the best man he new had a few rough patches and Amaram having none what so ever seemed like a man who takes a lot of care of his own reputation. That struck me as amazingly observational also how he seemed to be the only one who clocked Kaladin as unusual. I actually thought Amaram could eventually be a Knights Radiant. I new what he did to Kal was horrific and he is my favorite character but i understood the logic, who really would believe Kal didn't want the Shardblade it was a bad but a highly pragmatic thing to do but around the time when Shallan broke into his house and he summoned his Shardblade i realized it was just a facade. It was just greed and Restares suggestion was all the excuse he really needed. After that little scenes started popping out at me giving me hints what his true nature was truly like. Don't get me wrong i never liked him or anything but i just sympathized with the logic of it. Also resurrecting the Voidbringers back is a deal breaker. Dalinar had an unusual trust in Kal and vice versa. I think they could both sense the potential for the Nahel Bond in each other. When you have that level of trust in somebody i think that also played a part in Dalinar not growing suspicious in Kal.

I read Way Of Kings first then was informed of the Cosmere and was recommended to read Elantris + Warbreaker then Mistborn. Then reread Stormlight Archive
-
Didn't Rock say he was forbidden from hurting others? Maybe it's a restriction from the Shards..??
-
In WOR The Taln Interlude he said: "The Gift and words. Not his. Never his. Now his." No idea what he meant but it always seemed significant to me. Also Dalinar, Elhokar and Borden three Alethi couldn't understand him when he spoke his warning but Shallan a Vaden could understand him.

Thats the one i couldn't find, well done haha +1

Thats the best i could do haha.. I don't really think Kal is "Racist" as in the sense that we identify with the word. The Lighteyes are a ruling class, its how they identify themselves. He has issues because of their lies that he sees it, professing to be so noble yet they don't hesitate and hold little regard for the lesser "Dark Eyes" it's more the social class than a physical characteristics. It's like saying Kelsier is racist, he didn't hate Nobles because of what they looked like but because of what they did. It just happens that a physical characteristic is tied in with the Upper Ruling Class.

Thanks i had so much fun opening that. And i literally have no idea why. +1

Currently they can only trap nonsentient Spren. What's to stop them from discovering a possible way? I think it's a reasonable fear to have, that would worry me haha and to somebody like Kal who had Everything taken from him no wonder he must feel it ten fold.
-
Im a huge fan of the series and i was curious to know the channeling population. I was curious if there had ever been a WOB about it? Does anybody know the Channeling ratio roughly, like 1 person in 10,000 or 100,000 can channel?
-
Kaladin has always claimed the Lighteyes would take his Surgbinding from him. All this talk about trapping Spren makes me very nervous...
-
Have an Upvote for that! I'd rather have Michael Kramer narrate my life than Morgan Freeman haha. I also love Simon Vance, Steven Brand Luke Daniels and Nick Podehl. Reading Night Angel + Lightbringer on Graphic audio was probably the best decision i ever made regarding reading haha
-
I would like to apologize if i offended anybody. I swear that's not what i wanted at any point. So i'd just like to apologize if i trod on anybodies toes. I just want to point out though that i quite like an abundance of Kaladin, i like the fact that Brandon isn't intimidated to tackle writing a character who struggles with depression. I like his character arcs because they deal with a lot of important roles and morale dilemmas. I also want other characters to grow of course i do but i want to see Kaladin's the most and i have no qualms about saying that. I've been looking forward to Kal pulling a Shardblade on Roshone for 5 years haha.

OMG!!! The Blinders Knife!?!?! Hahaha i loved that series, it is amazing!! Try Night Angel when you finished the series!! If your a fan of the Audiobooks try Graphic Audio or Simon Vance.. although Black Prism Narrator sounds like a surfer...

Brandon Tweaking Words Of Radiance
AerionBFII replied to Kelsier Kenobi's topic in Stormlight Archive
The Honorblade grants Surgbinding to anybody who wields it. It has to have more special properties as well... A piece of Honor Shard. To be fair it was a split second decision though haha -
May i just say: If anybody isn't busy listen to The Night Angel Trilogy + Lightbringer Series Graphic audio both by Brent weeks. It is absolutely amazing!!

Yeah the blade would have been lost if he hadn't have chosen to chase it. I love Szeth but i would have also gone for the blade. They couldn't risk the Honorblade falling into Voidbringer hands... -
I'd just like to point out that Kaladin and Dalinar are two very similar characters, picking the most honorable between them will get us nowhere but i think Kaladin is as honorable as Dalinar and vice versa but Dalinar is far more experienced and lived a much fuller life. If they were both still 20 it would be Kaladin without a second thought but Dalinar has been a father, husband, brother and leader for a long time. He is a lot more experienced than Kal he has also buried his wife and his brother, dealt with heartbreak and reformed himself. Kaladin was disillusioned in a very damaging way when he was very young, he is as honorable as Dalinar except where he has his prejudices which i can't really fault him for but i think he definitely has the potential to overcome them and currently is doing that. I also think Kaladin is one of the more important characters and he still has huge rolls to play. Im a little amused by the fact everybody seems to want to be just shot of him now as though he has no future plot relevance... He has to return to Harthstone and reunite with his family and deal with Roshone. Dalinar wanted him to help in Kholinar this will involve all the riots and the trouble the Queen has gotten herself into and im sure the Ardents will be thrilled to realize the Knights Radiant are back. Amaram we have definately seen the last of him and his Herald Hard on. The Fallout from killing Helaran, Restares,it was his idea what happened to Kal and Kal knows it, i can see this bleeding into The SONS. Training the Squires from Bridge Four.
-
“If he is so honorable,” Kaladin whispered, “then why didn’t he fight to save your sons?” Any scene with Mraize Wit took a deep breath, then struck the appropriate pose—lazy expectation, calculated knowingness, insufferable conceit. After all, he did have a reputation, so he might as well try to live up to it. He looked down as she twisted her Shardblade, rotating the tip, still pointed at him. “I’d be surprised if that little knife of yours poses me any real threat, Kholin. You can keep waving it about if you want, though. Perhaps it makes you feel more important.” Amarams disgrace. Szeth opened his eyes.

Sooooo Gingers have no Spren??
