  1. I dont have all the quotes here, but a few pieces are feeling like they might fit together. (which means probably not!) So now we have "Wind", which is one of the rhythms of Roshar. Interesting that it was used to guide humans to Roshar. And when parshendi hum to the "winds" it means to follow. "He hummed to the Winds at last, a sign for her to follow" (also note the capital) Could this mean the other Rhythms the parshendi use are also spren? Both "old rhythms" and maybe new ones like Ridicule? This also makes me think back to WoR (the in world book) which said something along the lines of there were usually three bondsmith, but to exceed this number was seen as seditious. Could this mean the other "Rhythms" could potentially make bondsmith radients but would be "blasphemous" for lack of a better word? Could this be who was speaking on the back of WoK (The Winds)? This is all just wild thinking right now sure there are a ton of holes in it, just was caught quite surprised by the latest chapter release and the Wandersail story.
  2. That would mean however that both Nale and Chanarach were killed that night. That seems unlikely since Nale has been travelling around trying to prevent a desolation at later points in the story. If he had been killed and returned he would know a desolation was already occurring and we know he was at the palace the night of gavaliars assassination. Now it could very well ahve not been Nale but another skybreaker. However if her mother was Chanarach that does not seem to make as much sense as Ishar.
  3. "A man had come, either to hurt Shallan or to separate her from Testament." (emphasis mine) Admittedly Shallan is not the most reliable of narrators especially here. This bugs me. Who or what could separate a person from their bond? Has anyone every considered (I am sure they must have) Ishar being the visitor? Lets even assume the Chanarach theory is correct. What friend might she have brought along to help her daughter?
  4. This is my choice. I cannot pick the destination, only the path. Maybe even just "This is my choice". (with intent of course) He thought he was close with “Give it to me,” Gavilar said. “Now. I need it.”
  5. More random thoughts on this .... Thinking along this line assuming they can’t leave it may not even be permanent, and that may also be part of the issue. The singers change forms anytime they want (with the right conditions of course), meaning rebonding is common. This might not necessarily mean ‘deadeye’ spreen it might just mean the bond itself with singers is weaker allowing them to change bonds. BUT that would still leave the spree without a host and ‘mindless’ on this side if they decided to change. Even if they are not ‘trapped’ this could still be the issue, and might be why we haven’t seen shardblades. IF they are trapped it certainly adds another layer of undesirability
  6. Quick question on that, I am trying to think back through the scenes .... have we seen Timbre outside the gemheart since the bonding at all? Now even if not that might just be because of the situation but would certainly be interesting if they were trapped
  7. Oh man that was an emotional roller coaster. Elokhar holding his son and trying to say the oaths, then .... Moash Shallan .... just all over the board, wit, trying to help and failing, repeatedly That moment when you realize Renerian has bonded a voidspren And being absolutely terrified we had lost Dalinar, vision of him as champion ....no no no... And then, Dalinar! Maya! and so many more it those are the ones that stand out after just finishing. Man that was an amazing story!
  8. He didnt do it, He didnt do it! Ah wonder if the rest of my prediction will come true....
  9. Just a thought here. I honestly do think Pattern doesn't like her sprens "race" if you will. It did read to me as negative. However consider this. Syl REALLY didn't like Cryptics either, and they are not a "bad" spren. Prejudices are not just a human element ....
  10. It DID have bones. Note: I really really dont think it is a Kandra, but the "thing" clearly did have bones
  11. Found it There could be a connection though i doubt it still
  12. Although that is actually interesting now that I think about it. Wasnt the other person killed (and replicated) something said like, they went too far this time and killed them (like they finally snapped). Ill have to go look it up.
  13. Ya know i never even considered that. I honestly dont think it did, but it is possible. As for the rest here is my take (note these are just my opinions) They dont care about the right or wrong of it. They want to use U as a base so they need to to be "safe and secure" which means getting rid of whatever the problem is causing the darkness. Does this darkness relate to the stones being Unhallowed that Szeth could walk on them? - Dont think so Is this darkness part of why the Radiants abandoned it? I suspect it happened after the radients abandoned it but that could be correct Did the darkness contribute to Adolin losing control and killing Torol Sadeas? - dont think so Is this malign influence encouraging further mayhem? - I think so, see 5 Is it behind the replicated murders? - I think so! Is it Odious, independent or an effect of the Oathpact? Dont think its directly Odium so much as one of the unmade What is it's nature? Does Urithiru have a spren? No idea What are the even better questions that I have missed?
  14. Tomorrow Tomorrow there's always tomorrow.... Its only a daaaaaay aaaa waaaaaay Yeah I've got it bad .... i need my Tuesday fix
  15. @ShinyCheetah Not sure i agree that he didnt love Evi (its certainly possible). All we know is that he didnt love her at first. Not surprising since it was an arranged marriage. In chapter 4 where he is talking to Navani, Dalinar says this: “Navani, maybe I did grow to love her. I can’t remember. Not one moment of intimacy, not one fight, not a single word she ever said to me. She’s gone, leaving debris that mars my memory. I can’t remember how she died. That one gets to me, because there are parts of that day I know I should remember. Something about a city in rebellion against my brother, and my wife being taken hostage?” That… and a long march alone, accompanied only by hatred and the Thrill. He remembered those emotions vividly. He’d brought vengeance to those who had taken his wife from him. That at least implies he cared for her,
  16. Just a couple of thoughts. there is a lot of speculation about possible a bond between this "voidspren" and a Parshman... while possible given the level of intelligence I would have to assume they had been bonded much longer. (assuming they follow the same rules) If that were the case my top candidate would be venelli(sp?) and/or some of her scholars. Not saying I agree but IF that were the case........ I have wondered how she knew so much to be able to learn how to transform into storm form and Eshoni commented that the form didn't seem to have changed her. This particular spren however also brings to mind the Dalinar vision where they were chasing a "corrupted spren" and it brought an "escort" (see any similarities?) that created a thunderclast
  17. Edgedancer spoilers
  18. Ah i didn't remembered where he hid it, any idea where that is in book. All i remember is him thinking he hid it in a safe place. Found it - "He'd hidden that carefully in Jah Keved. He didn't know what it was but he didn't want to risk a master taking it from him" That was quite a while ago though. He might have moved it, or it could be another one. Or of course something else entirely, was just a random though.
  19. Yeah, I have no evidence just as i was commenting on Evi (since i was starting to consider her as a possible candidate for the preface). The thought that the author of the preface was thought to have died but did not popped in my head.
  20. Odd thought here. Do we have any idea where Szeth hid the dark stone? We know he visited U, we know he had a VERY odd gem stone that he hid (the one he got from gavilar). What if it contained an unmade? (One of the parshendi gods)?! Humm, what if THAT is really what the ghost bloods want to find and they suspect it is what is causing the "darkness"?
  21. Just some thoughts I had. I still cant get into any of the current theory camps regarding the curse and boon. Admittedly the closest one I come to is the "wife" changing from Evi to Navani but there are things that just do not "fit" to me. Lets assume for a moment that either the curse or the boon (doesn't really matter which one it was) is "forget his wife". Lets just assume for a moment that marrying Navani did make her fall under the curse/boon to be forgotten. Ok I can maybe go with that. However we have no evidence that is happening at all. Instead we see him remembering Evi. Who is STILL his dead wife. Marrying Navanni didn't suddenly make Evi's status change. By all evidence he completely forgot Evi immediately, not slowly (though there inst HARD evidence here, and he may have forgotten that he forgot slowly hummm...). Why wouldn't he immediately forget Navani completely. Why would the memories be returning slowly? Why not all at once if the boon/curse was lifted off Evi? Brandon ALWAYS has a reason for what happens in a certain way. There is a reason the memories are returning slowly rather than all at once. There is also timing to consider, admittedly the wedding feels like the big event that "changed" the current status, but I think we need to be looking at what else could have caused a shift, something that may be gradually affecting the characters rather than a all at once.
  22. Has anyone seriously considered Evi? Though my biggest doubt there is I would assume there would have been some mention of that in regards to his wife by now. I mean everyone considered her "not bright" would have expected it to be remarked upon if she had written a book. Course even that. If everyone had thought she died, but she had not and THEN wrote the book.....
  23. One other thought - We know investiture blocks other investiture. Cultivation (boon/curse) investiture blocks the memories. Honor investiture is stormlight. But he was HOLDING stormlight at the time. It IS possible they interfere with each other such that the boon/curse is partially/fully blocked. Wthought actually healing the "wound" so to speak. If that were the case he could obviously hear the name spoken. It could even account for remembering her face if they boon/curse blocks memory rather than removes/replaces it. I absolutely hate the idea that its the concept of his wife that he forgets, rather than the person, not because it isn't reasonable (it is sadly!) but I would just hate that for Dalinar and Navani. So i may be stretching to find other causes.
  24. I actually posted this in the 10-12. Chapters thread
  25. Ok I haven't read through all comments so forgive if I missed something. Also I'll admit I am a bit biased since I would prefer this to have happened..... Hypotosis: Dalinar didn't kill the boy. (and more) 1. Dalinar wonders what if Gavalier finds out? In direct thought with the shame of what happened there. This can't be that he killed the boy, Gavilier KNOWS that, he states in while talking to Dalinar. 2. The mention of the "rift" while Dalinar is trying to remember what happened (in relation to Kadash). It mentions "A city in REBELLION' not one they were conquering. 3. Killing a boy and his mother is not likely (by itself) enough to cause what happened to Kadash (sp?) Hardened soldier that had been on these conquests where they killed raped and pillaged! Ok so really odd random thought...... What if he spared the boy. Only to later have him come back and lead a rebellion in that city that cost him his wife?
