Which edition has Eshonai on the cover?

Thank you, I realize now that my comment was inappropriate. I edited it to express my opinion better, apologize for the misunderstanding (I was aiming for something entirely different as a meaning than what I suppose most people made of my comment, but that's really on me) and hopefully contribute to the topic.

Guys, this is fictional. Don't obsess on every little detail. How big is the planet, what's the acceleration, the gravity... Really?! This isn't sci-fi. First, let me apologize for being rude – it was not my intention, though I totally get when I reread my post that is does sound too harsh. I’m sorry. Now, allow me clarify what I thought, but didn't write. I think it’s nearly impossible to measure this, because there are too many assumptions needed for the calculation. When I wrote about the details, I was actually referring to the second part of the post where the math is based on one of the Heralds saying We have no clue what distance an average rosharian is able to travel by foot per day. What is their average speed? Is it really 5 km/h? Most alethi are either soldiers or farmers, which means the average alethi is pretty build up with unknown height. Yes, there were some comparing between different nations’ height in the book, but we don’t know what that means. Is the average person 1.6 meters tall or rather 2.0? This changes very much the pace they will able to keep for hours. How much time does the average person need to rest? Are 5 hours of sleep enough or is it more like 10? This changes how much time per day they travel. And what does ‘4 months’ mean – is it more like 3.5 or is it just less than 5? These are but details, yet they change all calculations and it’s nearly impossible to not get at least one of these wrong (because there simply isn't enough and precise data, which is what I meant when I wrote ‘this isn't sci-fi’). I didn't mean to imply that it’s in any way wrong or whatever to do such calculations (after all, I was think what a chull's skeleton looks like and how crazy is that?), only that I think it’s highly improbable to get the distance even roughly right. Again, my apologize to anyone who felt offended. I hope now my opinion is clearer and contributes to the topic.

Not at all I just wanted to point out that it makes sense on its own, because to me as a non-eglish reader 'drooling grass' sounds very strange and I needed to check it in my edition to be able to make sense of the phrase. It could be a clue , of course. Brandon tends to drop hints using certain wordings. I just can't think of anything else it could mean, despite the grass being unpleasant to touch.

Sorry, but this Jasnah here is nothing like the Jasnah in WoK. Screaming? Sobbing? Pulling a dead body of someone she barely knows closer? Pocking? Come on. Edit: Oh, I thought you were serious.

Rysn was referring to the grass that wasn't hiding from danger. In my non-english edition it's translated in the meaning of the grass being slimy or slushy as in unpleasant to touch because of this. Sorry, I can't think of a better explanation. I've read some speculations that Jerien was the man who spoke to Szeth in prologue of WoK:

At least he still has his blade. And the way he talks to it... When I first read it I was like 'Get a room you two!'

Who will be next to speak an Ideal of the Knights Radiant?
Aleksiel replied to Stoneward's topic in Stormlight Archive
You're right, Renarin is brave and also obedient, so I see him as potential Dustbringer. How cool would that be? Just imagine Sadeas's face when the boy he called useless turns his shiny shardplate to dust -
We know that Odium is reluctant to invest more than any other Shard, so voidbinding might not be of him as it requires heavy investiture to create a whole magic system. I think voidbinding is another Shard's investiture that was somehow corrupted by Odium. I doubt that there is magic system that comes entirely from him. Also, Brandon doesn't like to repeat himself and having magic systems for the good, the bad and the balance, is something he already used in another series. I know that there are again three magic systems on Roshar, but my guess is he'll think of something new.

It isn't, you're right. Hmm, I really thought it was, I don't know why. I remember seeing it somewhere. Thanks for the correction and the link!

It's possible, after all we barely know anything about the Honorblades. I've seen theories that Elhokar has either Jesere's or Shallash's blade, but that would make him Windrunner (which I find improbable) or Lightweaver, which suits the 'seeing cryptics' part better. But he didn't anything that Dalinar noticed, no illusion appeared or at least nothing made me suspicious of one. Perhaps I missed something in the scene. It's possible he broke his gems before the fight. Or may be his powers aren't from the blade, after all it could be an average shardblade, which would mean Elhokar may be able of surges we haven't seen yet .
-
He most likely sees cryptics: So yeah, it's possible that he have surgebinded or soulcasted though I don't recall anything special happening on Elhokar's side with the chasmfiend.

According to coppermind and So it does refer to the Era of Solitude, only not the beginning of it. I haven't read anything on the EoS after the years being incorrect and changed though there is no longer EoS in WoR released chapters. Was the EoS in WoK intentional or a mistake then?
-
The Era of Solitude began, ergo the EoS after the years. Edit: Woops, my bad.

Odd Surge out? (Or: One of these things is not like the others...)
Aleksiel replied to Oudeis's topic in Stormlight Archive
I find 'division' to be the weirdest. Transportation is fine, you just transport things, I can imagine that. Transformation doesn't bother me either, because magic (not a good explanation, but it sounds like alchemy). But division? I mean you can crush things with either gravity or atmospheric pressure, how is division different? Or is it more like cell division, which I rather think will be growth surge. This is what confuses me. -

Who will be next to speak an Ideal of the Knights Radiant?
Aleksiel replied to Stoneward's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think Jasnah has already spoken her second ideal and will share it with Shallan when they start discussing WoR. We already know Lift's, so I think the next one will be Shallan (so I vote for her despite Lift's interlude being before Shallan saying hers imo). I think she will find the way to Urithiru (however it was spelled) via her creativity and Shallan's second ideal will be something like "I will recreate what was lost". -
Possible Reason for the Knights Radiants Betrayal
Aleksiel replied to Duskshard's topic in Stormlight Archive
Well, it makes sense. After all, there hasn't been a Desolation since the Heralds broke the Oathpact and KR left (though where did they go and what did they do after?). Odium is bound by some rules if we are to trust Dalinar's visions, so may be surgebinding allows Odium to interfere with the world again.- 16 replies

Oh, come on guys! First someone wrote Kaladin might die and now Renarin?! I don't like this. If someone's dying, let that be...uh, I don't know... Amaram. There, Szeth can kill Amaram.

Should I buy the hard cover or ebook of WoR?
Aleksiel replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Thank you, I didn't know. I don't live in the US though and I prefer a hardcover/paperback in my native language. March is global release date, WoK publisher in my country received the book for translation in December so I think they will be able to publish it on 4th March or least within the month. When it comes to reading in a foreign language, e-books are much easier for me to read, because I can check everything I don't understand quickly, so buying physical English edition wasn't what I meant. I should have clarified -
Will Dalinar learn how Kaladin became a slave, in WOR?
Aleksiel replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
Again, there shouldn't be vengeance but justice. Honor and justice don't contradict each other. I will be very disappointed if Brandon makes it seem like Kaladin can only choose between forgetting and revenge. About the second ideal connected to leadership: I doubt it. Look at Lift's ideal 'I will remember those who have been forgotten' when Edgedancers are associated with loving and healing. It's a bit far-fetched from love. -

Aleksiel replied to eveorjoy's topic in Stormlight Archive
I really doubt Kaladin will kill Amaram, though imo he deserves it. He should be punished for what he did and I don't care if his conscience tormented him all those years. Best case scenario (imo again) Amaram dies protecting Kaladin when Szeth comes for Dalinar. So there, dead and somewhat redeemed. Amaram ruined Kaladin's life and killed his man. Forgiveness and turning the other cheek is not what I want to read. Not vengeance either, but justice. Edit: spelling
