  1. Day 2: Cryptic Crypt The investigators sat down right in the Oracle's shop and spent the entire day poring over the strange clues that they had found, but despite all their best efforts couldn't make any sense of them. They were so enigmatic and baffling that it began driving some of the investigators just a little mad. After they realized that poring wasn't doing any good, They tried pouring sauce on the clues, but quickly realized that that was a poor idea. Eventually they gave up and Oyh grew so frustrated that he grabbed the table and flipped it over. It made an odd hollow thumping sound as it hit the floor. The investigators glanced at each other, then shoved the table out of the way and threw aside the rug to reveal a trap door in the floor. Opening the door they discovered a rickety staircase descending into the gloomy darkness. Cautiously, they lit an oil lamp and made their way down the stairs. If the room upstairs had been a living nightmare of disorganization, the cellar is where it went to die. Literally. The dank cellar was stuffed full of coffins, sarcophagi, caskets, urns, and catafalques. There was no organization to the mess, with the various burial boxes piled atop one another in a haphazard fashion with some leaning at angles against the walls. There were heaps of bones everywhere- none of them fresh, fortunately- piled on the floor and atop the caskets. A deeply unsettling feeling permeated the entire place, as if someone was standing right behind you, breathing on your neck. "That can't be hygienic..." *The Witness mumbled. He turned away in disgust and noticed a small folded note pinned to the wall addressed to "The Investigators." Cocking an eyebrow, he unfolded it and scanned the note. "You've got to be kidding me," he said. The note read: *Snipexe's character Day 2 has begun! 2. Apologies for the delay, it’s been a busy day. Red team your clue is: Red 3. EDIT: @Scion of the Mists @Jondesu @luckat @Rhapsody @recneps
  3. Day 1 is over, day 2 is inbound. Feel free to keep discussing while you wait if you wish. Unlike normal SE games there are no actions or deaths to worry about in between cycles. EDIT: I’m having technical difficulties with the spreadsheet because I’m on mobile right now. I’ll get it fixed and get Cycle 2 posted as soon as I can get to my computer- probably half an hour or so.
  4. We did not include that mechanic in this game. There are no hidden mechanics or roles or anything like that.
  5. Congrats @Edgedancer Jak! Well played! (man maybe I should have worked in that Treebeard guest rap... )
  6. No. And please remember to @ mention me when you post accusations. I check my mentions first, so this helps ensure I see accusations and respond to them more quickly.
  7. Fair enough. I was considering doing my own guest rap, but there weren’t a lot of choices (Treebeard the Ent maybe?) plus is was getting late at night and I couldn’t brain anymore.
  8. @Edgedancer Jak Going first or last It doesn't really matter I'm still gonna blast You and serve you on a platter.
  9. Day 1: A Mess The Oracle's shop was a mess. No, worse than that. When you walk into a messy room there is at least some sense of where things should go, what does belong and what doesn't, what is garbage and what should be kept. Not so with the Oracle's shop. At first glance the Investigators immediately thought that the place had been ransacked, likely by whoever kidnapped the Oracle, but after only a few minutes they were forced to discard that hypothesis. Even the most determined of looters would have given up after only a few minutes. The room was filled with all sorts of junk, such as oversized cards painted with vaguely mysterious pictures, bowls containing small bones with strange markings on them, stacks of cages containing small animals such as birds, rats, cremlings, lizards, cats, pigs, and goats beneath a sign that read "Haruspicy Specimens," sacks of strange flavorless cookies with little slips of paper folded inside of them, "magic" tarachin balls that would answer yes or no questions when you shook them, large glass spheres, broken mirrors, stacks of books, shrunken heads, star charts, unwashed tea cups, shelves lined with vials of various colors, abstract paintings, flat boards with alphabets written out on them, piles of half-used candles, odd-sized bowls and urns, and on and on and on. And those were just the things that were immediately identifiable. There were piles of unidentifiable auguries, baubles, trinkets, artifacts, relics, and tokens. The investigators paused for a moment, drinking in the full weight of the task ahead of them and wondering if perhaps it might be better to let the assassin get away with the crime, just this once, then collectively took a deep breath and began searching for whatever clues the Oracle had hidden there. 10. Hey everyone, over at steelministry.com I am starting up a new campaign. It's actually a re-run of a great Mistborn campaign I came up a few years ago which I have titled "Legends of Orulae." It takes place during the Final Empire era, and begins with the crew going along, doing their thing, when they catch wind that someone may have discovered the long lost city of Orulae, a legendary city which is said to be home to one of the greatest treasures of all time... The campaign is filled with adventure and explorations and is meant to have a very Indiana Jones type feel to it. Right now I have 3 players signed up and they're putting the finishing touches up on their characters. That is enough to get started, but I'm willing to let 1 or 2 more people join. If you're interested, reply and let me know and/or head on over to steelministry.com and create an account. The sign-up thread for the game can be found here.
  11. I'd love to give this a try, but I would need a week or so before I'm ready (once the Cosmere Rap Battle Tournament #2 and the Deception: Murder in the Cosmere games are both finished). Perhaps I could join in for the 2nd (or 3rd) run-through?
  12. Role PMs have all been sent. PM me if you haven't received one or if you have any questions.
  13. How long do we have to post our raps? My schedule is a little crazy with it being Labor Day weekend, so I want to make sure I give myself enough time to do it.
  14. Day 0: There's always another one All the Investicon attendees returned to the convention hall with a spring in their step (well, except for the ones that didn't). They were pleased with themselves for having captured the Assassin and his Accomplice, and were looking to celebrate by feasting on punch and cookies. As they walked they chatted and congratulated each other on their success, though a few of them wondered what had happened to the Chief Oracle. Old Eban hadn't been seen in hours. They thought that he would have wanted to be present for the arrest and the celebrations. When they reached the entrance to the convention hall they noticed a note written in beautiful calligraphy pinned to the door. It read: Round #2 has begun! The spreadsheet has been prepped and I've made a few tweaks to hopefully balance the game a little bit. I removed the Location tile with all the shardworlds on it, and added a new tiles and mixed things a round a little until I was satisfied with the locations. You can see them in the "Scene Tiles" tab in the spreadsheet. Also, each player is being assigned 5 Methods and 5 Evidences. Hopefully with these changes it will make it a bit trickier to solve the crime. Player List: Link to the spreadsheet Link to the Rules Working on sending out PMs to everyone. If you don't receive one within an hour after this post is made, shoot me a PM and let me know. The Assassin has 1 day (actually a little less, so I can get us on a rollover schedule that I can handle) to pick their Method of Murder and Key Evidence and PM them to me, and then Day 1 can begin. Good luck everyone!
  15. Whoops, I messed up the countdown timer. I meant for signups to be open until 9:00 local time (an hour and fifteen minutes from now). So cycle 0 will start sometime after then, and in the meantime if there are any latecomers you are still welcome to sign up. EDIT: I'm running behind tonight because I was doing birthday stuff with family, but I'm working on getting the game set up and should have it up soon. Thanks for your patience.
  16. I sat down for a few minutes and played around with the location tiles, and here is what I came up with. Thoughts? Location of Crime #1 Sitting Room Bedroom Cellar Bathhouse Kitchen Balcony Location of Crime #2 Rooftops Town Square Marketplace Battlefield Arena Slums Location of Crime #3 Big City Small Town Road/Canal Wilderness Fields Sea/Ocean Location of Crime #4 Palace/Keep Manorhouse Temple/church Farmhouse Hut/shack Safehouse
  17. Shardhammer is a red agent! 1 guess and a few hours remaining.
