Spec doc link, since we forgot it: here And yes, Doc was going to kill Clanky. The only person who he could've killed to make the game not end. One change was when he put in that order, and the other when he changed it to Sart. And I do remember seeing that, actually. Thanks to Nyali for such a great game! She did all the work. So everyone knows. I did very little to help, other than a very few writeups and occasionally sending out PMs. She's the one who wrote all the roles and such, though. And it was a fantastic game, despite any bumps. See you all in the next one!

Long Game 27: Strife in Ankh Morpork
Elbereth replied to Young Bard's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Sorry for the lateness of the signing up. I'm in as Elsen, a constantly irritated secretary. Note: I will not be RPing this game, nor will I be anywhere near as active as usual. I won't be actually inactive, but I'd like to limit myself to about a post a day if possible for me. I shouldn't really be playing at all, but... I think it'll be worth it. See you all after the game begins! (Long after. Like, twelve hours after. I'm planning on sleeping in. ) -

No, that's not what I'm saying. I don't know that you're cleared. No one does, except you. Assuming you're not Forsworn, you know for a fact that you are a villager and can trust your own instinct. Thus, your choice of who to lynch is every bit as valid as Doctor's or mine. This goes for every person in the game (with the exception of the Forsworn, of course). From your perspective, you are confirmed good. So don't rely on me or Doctor to pick a lynch target. We're no more right than you.

Yes! Thank you, Rae. Confirmed good does not mean confirmed right. Ever. Just because you can trust that Doctor or I don't have any intent of misleading you doesn't mean we'll be right about our suspicions. You know you're confirmed good too, after all, Len. So how are we any better than you for picking a lynch target? Also, note that I at least am not sure whether I'll actually use the ionBlade this cycle. I'm deliberately going to keep that uncertain because the Forsworn can only have so many roleblocks, and since (if we lynch Wonko) I can be certain that it's not getting stolen immediately. So there's not much reason for having to use it immediately when I might have much stronger suspicions in a couple of cycles. Hmm. Pity, that. So Julii essentially cannot steal the eliminator kill. But we did get one eliminator out of it, which is as much as I'd hope for anyway. We shall just have to stick to more old-fashioned tactics for the rest.

...So. We could change the target of the lynch, yes. We could lynch someone else and kill Wonko with an ionBlade. And that would be fine. But if we did so, Wonko could use his role power and any items he possesses, to help benefit his team. If we lynch him, on the other hand, he cannot do any of that due to where the lynch falls in the order of actions. So I highly suggest we do that. Alternate suggestion to the ionBlade-Wonko plan: everyone proposes targets for Rae's and my ionBlade as an alternative lynch. (I can't promise that I will follow that suggestion if I have a different opinion, but in general I'll probably accede to the will of the majority.) That seems like a much better idea. (I'm actually a little more suspicious of Rae for suggesting this, in fact, although the fact that she initiated Bugsy's duel still holds a fair amount of weight.) Corollary to the above: I retract my request for Wonko to be roleblocked, since we shouldn't actually need to. There's no action he can take before the duel. Also, I'm amused by the fact that despite the fact that Aman says that everyone is on time to the war room meeting, not one person excepting myself has actually been on time.

That was one of the reasons I debated with myself for a while before doing this, yes. Having someone else reveal about halfway through the cycle would've been a smarter play. But... I'm not doing this for strategy. I'm doing it for fun. This kind of thing is memorable. This is what you tell stories about, later. And that's worth more than doing the optimum strategy, in my opinion. Eh... yeah, you could've made some arguments. You could've said (if you hadn't told Doctor you had no items to trade) that you traded the ionBlade from someone else and then I traded it from you (since there'd be a 50/50 chance of that). could've tried to accuse me of not being Julii at all, although it's pretty easy to guess I wouldn't sign my own death warrant like that. Could've said you had an ionBlade from the beginning of the game, actually. That wouldn't have been a bad argument at all - the fact that you had no items to trade doesn't mean you don't have an ionBlade, only that you're not willing to trade it. I could actually see that as having saved you. But, hey. If you just want to reveal, that's fine by me.

Right, explanation time. One, I’m a Julii, obviously. (Thus, for instance, why I thought of Doctor’s plan almost immediately - that’s also why I never claimed to him. I was nearly certain I already knew what he was going to say, and I was correct.) Second, I stole an ionBlade from Wonko last cycle. Two questions, then - why, and what does that mean? First, why. I had intended to make a tally of Merit earned C1, actually, but I had an unexpected doctor’s appointment this afternoon adn didn’t get home until after turnover. Fortunately, I’d put in contingency orders (because I forgot to put in ordders at all for C1…), and I happened to pick Wonko, because I remembered him as posting a lot. Apparently Doctor is who I should have picked, if I wanted the highest Merit poster apart from me, but I didn’t (and still don’t) remember that he said that much, so Wonko was who came to mind. (Also because I’d been discussing his character with him fairly recently, so he was on my mind.) And then I never got on to change it, and so I got an ionBlade in return. What does that mean? A lot. One, it means Wonko is Forsaken, obviously. Second, it means Bugsy’s ionBlade must’ve been there from the beginning. That makes sense to me, that the eliminators would start with an ionBlade, and obviously Bugsy wouldn’t have been able to use it (nor would a Julii be able to trade it away) before the duel last cycle. I would guess they wanted to save it for later cycles instead of using it C1, which does imply to me that they’re at the very least not organized enough to think of bussing Bugsy before last cycle, since otherwise he would’ve used/gotten rid of that ionBlade. Thirdly, it means that, as Doctor said, anyone who posted more Merit than that is clear. Given that Wonko and Bugsy posted the same amount (intentionally, perhaps?), it’s the same two people - Doctor and I. Personally, I also consider Doctor semi-cleared by Bugsy being Forsworn (and how much Bugsy wanted to learn Doctor’s plan, specifically), but this just solidifies that for me. …And Doctor just told me (in PM, before his post in thread) that Wonko is in fact the Julii who claimed to Doctor. This… actually makes a fair amount of sense. Wonko learns the plan and spills it to his teammates, and Bugsy forgets and spills in thread? That’s much more plausible than thinking that Doctor could be a SK going after Julii. I… think that’s all? Oh, about ionBlades. Rae and I both have one, and since we now know that there is in fact a Forsworn Julii and who precisely they are, it’d be really nice if someone with a StunFist would use it on Wonko so neither of us get stolen from. Right. Also. This was a dumb idea. What I did? Do not do this. I could’ve used a proxy, and had that person claim to thread. This way I am much more likely to be roleblocked and/or killed within the next two cycles, which is not only sad for me but also sad for the village because I wouldn’t be able to find any other Forsworn or soft-clear any other villagers. So why did I? Well, a few different reasons - one, we just got an eliminator and are about to get another, so it’s not like my death will be too horrible for the village; two, I shouldn’t really be playing in the first place so dying isn’t necessarily a horrible thing for me; three, the idea of a RP battle in thread was really, really appealing. Particularly with Sanis, since his is a fantastic character (I actually had some instinctive trust for Wonko because I didn’t think he’d play his character the way he was as an eliminator. Apparently I was wrong about that.). Oh, and by releasing this this early I also sitfled game discussion this cycle, at least to an extent. So yeah. This was dumb. >> But hopefully it’s worth it. I think I have more strategy and thoughts floating around in my head, but it’s 11 o’clock and I have a headache, so I am going to bed. Hope I wake up to some RP, and preferably game talk as well. We still have all of last cycle to analyze and get suspicions from if possible, and Wonko’s past posts as well. Anyway. Good night.

I happen to have just the thing, yes. Lumina parted ways from Nirgal when they got to their rooms, agreeing with him to meet again later. She walked into the relative safety of her room and unbelted her sword, absently hanging her razor in its place on the rack as she did so. Wincing, she slowly unsheathed the sword at her waist. It stank to high heaven, of course, and the sheath was equally dirtied. It was going to be a long night. She spent hours on the sword, washing it, polishing, soaking the sheath, meticulously making sure the blade returned to its previous condition with no hint of the ordeal it had been put through. At midnight, she finally lifted the blade to her nose, and all she could smell was rosewater. She smiled, and set down the sword, leaving it out so that the sheath could finish drying overnight. After a brief stalk through the hallways and a few other bits and pieces of routine, she went to bed, waking early the next morning in order to be at the meeting on time. As early sunlight spilled through the pale snowy forest outside her window, Lumina moved about quietly in the pale light. She dressed - black, of course. Formally, as she might dress when she was on bodyguard duty for Tiberius. She paused a moment in front of her rack of blades. After thinking, she picked out a katana, forged and reinforced enough to stand against a razor if necessary. This particular katana was worn crosswise across the back, so she slung it on and wrapped her razor the other way. Lumina came to the war room shortly afterward, about fifteen minutes early. Punctuality was rather important, particularly at a time like this. Everyone filtered in over the next fifteen minutes, apart from those who had been there when Lumina arrived, one and all looking at the very least uncomfortable, particularly when they saw Sevro’s head at his place. She ignored them all, though her gaze did land briefly on Sanis when he sauntered in, before glancing away again to stare distantly at the opposite wall. Within the hour, it was fairly clear that Tiberius was not coming. Everyone muttered in groups to each other, eyeing everyone else in the room, until she judged the time right. Lumina stood and sprung onto the table around which all of the lancers were nervously sitting. Sanis sat near the end of the table furthest from Tiberius’ place, as his apparently low status as a bureaucrat manager suited him. Appearances had to be kept, after all, even if it was an open secret that Sanis was a bit more than a manager. “Sanis,” she said quietly. Her voice carried through the now-silent room. “We have been called together to fight the Sons of Ares, and now to find Kavax’s murderer. One of us. A traitor.” She walked down the table, soft boots making no sound against the polished surface. No one spoke. “And yet, last night, I managed to find this in your room?” She pulled out the ionBlade she’d taken from him last night. There were murmurs at the sight. An ionBlade? Razors were one thing, but ionBlades were quite another. And Kavax had been killed with one. “Traitor. Oath-breaker. Forsworn.” She cast the ionBlade at him, not caring whether he managed to catch it or not. “I declare a duel, here, now, between Sanis au [?] and Lumina au Julii. May fortune favor the faithful.” Wonko, I challenge you to a duel of debate and of RP. Think we can tell a good story between us, in the next 40-whatever hours or so? I’m up for it if you are. Another post will be coming in a bit, explaining exactly what happened and why what I just did was a stupid idea and why I did it anyway and all of that. I just wanted to get this out there first, and better to separate them because that post will be plenty long enough without 500 words of RP added to it.

o.O Um. I'm going to have to go back and look at the past cycle much more carefully than before. I was a bit absorbed in school and wasn't paying as much attention as I ought. That lynch was weird, looking back on it... no one tried to defend Bugsy. No one. Maybe I'm misremembering, but... I would think that they would at least attempt to defend him before bussing him completely. The closest I can think is Bard suggesting Straw as an alternative, which I suppose makes me more suspicious of him, but I need to go back and check the timing on that, because I think that was fairly late in the cycle, far later than I would've expected a defense to come. I guess that implies to me that it was a very deliberate and planned lynch-the-eliminator-to-clear-the-others play. In which case we'll want to look at everyone who cheered for Bugsy pretty carefully. I'll try to get up a post about that... later. Or tomorrow. We'll see. Following up from the theory of deliberate bussing - that implies to me that the eliminator team is relatively large this game, which doesn't surprise me in the slightest given that there are multiple mechanics giving the village the edge (particularly the kill mechanic and the limited communication). Out of 20, 5 seems reasonable. Perhaps 5 plus a village Rath. So four, now, at a guess. Aman, will we be getting any kind of vote count in the writeups or will we have to figure them out ourselves? But hey. We got a Forsworn. So... yay for that, at least.

"I need explain myself when greeting a friend after a long time away? You amuse still, Lumina," Nirgal responded in amusement. Lumina inclined her head, acknowledging the point. He'd ignored the implicit question of what Sheep thought of the past few days. She wondered if that had been intentional. "And what bizarre escapades have you found yourself in over the past few years, eh? Not killed any poor fools have you?" "Not many, but all fools," she responded lightly, although only half-joking. They passed out of the ArchGovernor's portion of the palace and began heading towards the lancers' rooms. "You?"

Lumina stared at the grief-stricken Tiberius, slightly shocked. Is every authority figure I meet today going mad? But when Pliny told her to escort Tiberius, she obeyed, of course. It was her duty. She gently guided the stumbling Gold down the winding maze of passageways to his room, a much more decorated and extravagant portion of the palace than that in which she lived. Fortunately, she’d guarded him often enough to know where his rooms were, or she might’ve led him entirely in the wrong direction. Finally, they reached the doorway to his rooms, where a Pink opened the door immediately and ushered Tiberius in, murmuring and comforting him already. Lumina watched the door close gratefully. Dealing with tears was not precisely her area of expertise. She turned, intending to head back to her room and clean the sword and sheath that were still stained with bird carcass. “Ho, Lumina,” she heard, seeing Nirgal walking towards her. She waved and fell in beside him. She didn’t smile, but she didn’t need to with him. They were friends of a sort. Or at least, he made an excellent sparring partner, upon occasion. Not precisely a challenge when it came to swordsmanship, but he was her match at least in kravat. “Well?” she asked simply. Hopefully I'll be able to post more game thoughts later (including thoughts on Merit; I'm not sure I agree it's a good idea and so would like to think on it a bit more before making my decision), but I can't promise to, unfortuantely. I've been a lot quieter this cycle, because of school and stuff. This weekend I'm most certainly going to be more active. If I don't manage to post again, see you on the other side of turnover, assuming I'm alive.

Oh, I'm aware of this - I just generally get a bit uncomfortable about discussing deliberately killing someone for information in front of that person, without them even being able to say whether they'd be okay with that or not without giving themselves away. Um... what Sheep just said, essentially. I asked (since I wanted to figure out when the Julii should be stealing), and the ionBlade is received at the same time as Purchases, which is after the ionBlade kills. So while a Blade was received this last cycle, it couldn't have been used yet. I wouldn't be surprised if the eliminators did start with an ionBlade and just saved it for later. Or perhaps they didn't start with one at all. Either way makes sense, and neither implicates any inactives. Sorry you can't duel anyone else this cycle.

Long Game 27: Strife in Ankh Morpork
Elbereth replied to Young Bard's topic in Sanderson Elimination
First, I'd strongly suggest reading the General Rules if you haven't already. That should clear some things up. To respond to your question more specifically, in general you may not copy and paste anything from a GM PM, a doc, or a PM with any other player, in any game. (The only exception is generally if you're an eliminator and pasting PMs into your evil doc - in this game, given that each faction has people with different win cons hidden within them, that will not be the case, so I'd suggest just not copy-pasting at all this particular game.) On the other hand, you may paraphrase all that you would like, and share anything you learn anywhere you'd like. And yes. You may lie about essentially anything you'd like to, except for any real life issues or excuses in that color. (Does that mean you should lie about everything? Not necessarily. But you're definitely permitted to.) -
That's been done once, actually! Look at LG17 for specifics. It could definitely be done again, though. I know that a few other SE players (Hael and Burnt, most definitely, and a few others that I can't call to mind at moment) have played it as well.

Long Game 27: Strife in Ankh Morpork
Elbereth replied to Young Bard's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I... would disagree with recommending QF1 to read through. I've read QF1. It's 5 pages. One and a half of those are signups. The other three and a half are RP. Maybe three or four posts in the entire game are strategy-related. QF11 might be better than that. Actually, my recommendation for QFs could also be QF9. It's a very simple game, given basically no roles, but all of the basics are there, and it's standard in every other way I can think of. So that's what I'd go for, personally. I don't know if I'm going to sign up yet... let's just say I'm conflicted. Severly. >> -
...That's an excellent point, and one I really should've considered. >> We don't have any reason to really trust or distrust the Julii right now, as far as I'm aware. Lynching/killing them eventually is a viable option (sorry, whoever the Julii is, for discussing you without you being able to give much input), but... yeah. It'd be nice to find a second Julii, then. That way at least one is village, almost certainly. No, you wouldn't. The point of Doctor's plan (which I would argue is not the same as mine, as I'll state in a minute) was entirely focused about one or two Julii scanning for ionBlades. And if one was found, then I presume that Doctor would reveal the whole plan (sans the Julii's name) to the thread, and lynch the offending Forsworn. You wouldn't be Mayored. No one would be forced into certain actions but the Julii, and the Julii would still 1) be allowed a fair amount of choice in who they targeted and 2) not even have to do the plan if they didn't want to. Um, what? I mean... If you're implying that Doctor is evil, the Julii isn't, and Doctor could lie about what was happening to the thread, then how do you think the Julii will react when they see an outright lie? They'll reveal and get Doctor lynched. Obviously. If, instead, you're saying that Doctor could direct the Julii towards people he knows won't be getting the ionBlade, that's more fair of a point. I don't think that is what you're saying, but I'll bring it up anyway because it's something that the Julii should keep in mind - decide your own targets. Just like any other Seeker, you should have final say in who you scan. Um... Well, it wasn't improved, in my opinion. I proposed a similar but distinct plan, and everyone seems to now be going with that rather than Doctor's original plan, because the original plan is no longer feasible given that you've pointed it out in thread. His plan involved finding Forsworn. Mine only involves soft-clearing people (people who, incidentally, the eliminators are going to be going after anyway, for several obvious reasons). Now, I do think mine is better because it's going to reliably work, rather than relying on a chance that you'll land on the Forsworn who gets the ionBlade, but Doctor's could've worked just as well had it not been revealed in thread. Numbered for clarity because multiquoting stuff is a pain. 1. Heh. This amuses me, a bit, both because I knew you'd be paranoid of me and because Wilson did that exact thing in LG20 with DC. Although, to be fair, she would've done it regardless of alignment... Anyway. The reason I suggested it was essentially because I thought of it, and I figured I might as well bring it up and shoot it down instead of someone else suggesting it later and me having to shoot it down then. 2. While I'm not sure I agree that that's suspicious for the reasons you stated, that does make me think that Bugsy is slightly suspicious because of how badly he wanted to find out the plan without your knowledge. Not because he had to cast suspicion on you to do it - as he's said, he honestly believed you could be a SK (I'm... nearly certain there's not a SK in the game with that particular role just because Aman suggested it to the thread, but that's beside the point). But learning what the plan was without your knowledge sounds like it'd be a very good idea for the eliminators - if there's something they can counter without the instigator of the plan knowing htat that person knows, that's entirely to the eliminators' advantage. Given that, and the fact that I'm not currently suspicious of anyone else at moment... Rae. Corollary - I find it slightly interesting that the Julii never brought up to Doctor that Bugsy was asking about the plan, thought Doctor might be a Julii SK, or even said at all that he/she had told someone other than Doctor the plan. Depends on who the Julii is, of course, but that seems like a sensible thing to have told Doctor and I get the impression that that didn't happen at all. Oh, note about Mayor games - they only work if everyone lets them. You say that everyone seems to be somewhat scared of them, but they're contingent on everyone else accepting them. LG19 wouldn't have gone how it did if anyone had said "storm it" and just PMed everyone to nix that plan. And I personally have no intention of letting one happen in the slightest, as much as I can. More numbering! And yeah, you can't quote from a closed thread unless you had multiquotes in it before it closed (I did ). 1. Yes. I'm saying that essentially the only way for this plan not to work (and the village not to know about it), assuming the Julii carrying it out is village, would be a Forsaken Julii stealing the ionBlade instead (and using it - I asked, and a Julii can use an ionBlade that they receive the same turn). This is a fairly unlikely proposition, but it is possible, so I thought I'd point it out. 2. Because that was Doc's idea. My idea was not to find Forsworn. Doc's was, but it's somewhat invalid given it's been said in thread now. And no, I have not calculated anyone's Merit but my own yet, though I do intend to do so when I get the chance. (Maybe after I post this. No promises, though.) 3. Yep. Lopen made a fair point there. Hopefully we find another Julii soon, so we can be fairly certain that at least one of them is Faithful. 4. Ah, I see what you're saying. That's why I've been saying that if you're buying an ionBlade, it might be useful to tell someone. Yes, this gets out information that the eliminators would like to have, but it's worth it and less problematic for a couple reasons - if the ionBlade is then stolen, it can be fairly presumed to be an enemy Julii and thus the person that you told is evil. Alternatively, there are also whisperGems, so even if they try to kill you to silence you instead, if you think ahead you can still reveal who you told. So I still think it's a very useful trick. That's all for now. Wish I'd been able to respond throughout the day, but I didn't get the concentrated amount of time it takes to finish a whole post. RP coming soonish, once I catch up on everything else that's happened in the past three hours or so.

Day 8: Crystal Locke walked cautiously into the dim, lamplit office. He’d been away for days now, hiding, preparing. But he could no longer hide. He knew what he needed, and where it was. The only issue would be- Whether he was expected. His eyes were met by another, sitting calmly at the desk. Well, then. It was futile in the first place, I suppose. A pity, that. Locke didn’t try to run. Better to die with dignity than to fall to a knife in the back. The other picked up an ornate crystal goblet, swirling the wine in it thoughtfully. “Life is a little like this goblet, isn’t it?” Locke sighed. “Must there be a monologue?” But he was ignored, of course. “We are formed in darkness and ignorance, slowly forming or crystallizing in an instant. We are brought out of the cavern in which we have lived all our lives, and we see light for the first time. We gleam in the sunlight, and all is good.” Locke sighed and rolled his eyes. While an interesting analogy, to be sure, he was a bit more interested in his impending death. “We are cut, then.” A finger traced around the lip of the goblet. “Shaped into something of use. Beautiful, dangerous, perhaps. Perhaps not. Ornate, like this goblet, or much simpler. It varies according to the craftsman who makes us.” Locke closed his eyes, trying to block out the words as well. He heard footsteps, pacing out from behind the elaborate desk. “And so we serve our use, goblets or simple cups, to each their own. We live, perhaps a long time indeed, perhaps not.” Locke opened his eyes again, but saw nothing but the desk and the painting behind it, a crashing ocean wave. The desk was empty of the goblet, too. He refused to turn his head and look around in fear. They wouldn’t have that satisfaction. Besides, there was no need. The footsteps soon paced around in front of him again, and his eyes were captured by the goblet. Not too horrible of a last thing to set his eyes on in this world. “And then, one day, the glass is taken up by a serving boy or a child or an elderly grandmother, or a slightly-too-tipsy warrior, and it-” the fingers loosened, and the goblet slipped the hand’s grasp to fall onto the stone floor, breaking into a million pieces. “Shatters.” Locke watched the red wine spill slowly out, pooling around the shards of crystal. Soon, his blood joined the spreading wine, blending together, shattered goblet and fallen man side by side in an empty, dark room, and all was silent. Orlok has been killed! Nightblood was used! Number of independents who have achieved their goal: 1 Day 8 has begun and will last 46.66 hours. Player List

Yeah. This is actually a lot like QF14, then - players still existed in jail after they were lynched. Difference is that their alignment was revealed (the alignment of those killed by other means was not), and they couldn't talk in thread either nor initiate PMs, only respond. That said, they did also have a doc in which to talk together and pool information, which was minorly useful. And so you know, alignment and role reveal upon death is fairly common in SE. Not every game, but most. The only ones without that come to mind at moment are MR10 and LG26, actually. Perhaps one or two more. Glad to see you thinking about game creation already! It's a great idea, and hopefully someone (maybe you, even?) will run it someday.

I'm not saying you should notify the thread that you just got an ionBlade. I'm saying tell someone that you're getting one, so they can verify you later if you are stolen from. Doing it to the whole thread would be a terrible idea, yes. That's definitely not what I was saying. And yeah. We would have to handle something like that carefully. I'm not saying the lower volume posters would be required to do a ton more, so much that the highest-activity players would coordinate a bit to make sure that the same person doesn't have the highest Merit twice or three times in a row. This is all from Sheep's post, and all out of order. Sorry. Yes, the Forsworn are the only ones with a chance at the free blade. That's the point. If a Julii does not manage to steal an ionBlade from the highest-Merit poster the previous turn, that person is almost certainly not Forsworn because they would by default have had an ionBlade. As I was saying - the only scenario in which this does not clear a player is that in which a Forsworn Julii (assuming they have one) steals the Blade first, and there's a only 50% chance of that happening, which isn't really horrible. And yes, there are special cases in which a Blade could be stolen and it wouldn't be a Forsworn. Those cases, by and large, can be avoided with a little bit of intelligence on everyone's parts. The idea (with my plan, at least), is soft-clearing, not finding eliminators, for the most part. So yes, the Forsworn who gets the ionBlade could have significantly less Merit than the top poster. In which case there's not a very good chance of finding them anyway, so I'd say it's a bit more useful to be able to very nearly clear the highest-Merit poster (which is useful in other respects, since they're also the most contributing player, obviously). Also, vigilante kills are actually significantly more accurate than the lynch, on average, so you know. They're a good thing, if someone has strong enough suspicion. I asked - no, you're not allowed to use Merit you're about to receive to purchase items. Does it? I mean... This is not the only way to catch eliminators. It is one way we can soft-clear people. This does not by any means mean we can't use the lynch or anything else to find them. It's just an additional tool. So... I'm not sure what you have a problem with? Other note - this plan only really requires one Julii. Maybe two or three in contact could coordinate on the top few players rather than the top one, but I think it's an equally viable option to just let all the other Julii do as they deem best, and just have Doc/Bugsy's Julii steal from that top player. Opinions on that? Um, what? Why is it useless after C3 again?

A small girl suddenly appeared in front of Lumina. Tarna au Bellona, daughter of Tiberius, the most adorable little terror that had ever existed. “Do you like flowers?” she asked cheerfully. “I do! I like saxifrage and poppy and forget-me-not an roses and daisies and…” she continued on, listing more flowers than Lumina would’ve ever expected a 7-year-old to know. She smiled slightly. A rare enough expression for her, but she liked children. Even when the child was usually up to no good… Her instincts poked at her. She’d been deliberately walking through the center of the room and avoiding the edges. She wasn’t afraid to turn her back on anyone, she was saying. No one would dare stick a knife in her back. And so they didn’t. That didn’t mean a little paranoia wasn’t healthy, however. And right now there was something at her back. There were a few others staring at her, and whatever was behind her. She shifted slightly to the side, forcing Tarna to turn and face her, trying to catch a glimpse of what was behind her. Tarna kept babbling, enough that she couldn’t hear much else, but she thought she caught a mutter and a few fast footsteps. A smell reached her now. Something… rotting? She still couldn’t see anything, though. Tarna was listing types of butterflies now. Lumina wasn’t entirely sure how that had happened, but she was just happy that she didn’t have to respond. Her instincts became louder and louder until there was a touch at her back and she couldn’t bear it anymore. She whirled, drawing her sword (not her razor; it was too long, and she didn’t want to inadvertently duel someone until she knew what was going on) as she turned, and skewered a… something… with it, very nearly skewering an eyeball as well. Tarna went silent as Lumina stared at the dead bird on her sword. She slowly lowered it, letting the carcass slip onto the ground, and gave the sword a flick. That will be fun to clean off later... She inwardly winced, but sheathed the dirty sword and bowed low. “Hearth Knight Vesta. An honor.” Perhaps the woman had lost her wits as they said, but politeness didn’t hurt. Even when the famous Knight had been trying to stick a dead bird to Lumina’s back. Sorry for taking so long to reply, everyone who was waiting. Game talk will come in a while.
