Theory: Shardblades Barely Harm Infused Surgebinders
PorridgeBrick replied to Moogle's topic in Stormlight Archive
But Shardblade cuts are also Spiritual, aren't they? -
Stop coming up with great theories. It makes us all jealous.

I hope it's easily taken out of context, just for the sake of more crazy and totally inaccurate theorizing.

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
PorridgeBrick replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I don't think there's much point in debating over this. No matter what, we're winning from this here: if Shiv is innocent, then Cessie is most likely the Inq and possibly a Spiked. We have numbers on our side. Even if we give up one, or two Villagers for one Spiked, we'll still win.- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
PorridgeBrick replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Peng's evidence seems pretty convincing to me. Kill Shiv. In the future, though, I'm curious to see how many people have both voted to kill Shimble and claimed to be normal Villagers, either openly or to Peng. While neither have a 100% chance of including the Inquisitor, I think both still help a little to narrow down suspects.- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
PorridgeBrick replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I think we should focus our voting on everyone who has claimed to be Regular Villagers. That includes: Quillion Wes And any others that told Peng in private. So Peng, is there anyone you have good reason to suspect that is also on the list of supposed regular villagers?- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
PorridgeBrick replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
Right now, it doesn't matter too much if she gets Spiked. What's important is that she's not the Inq. Before we start hunting down Spiked, we need to kill the Inq so he doesn't keep pumping out more. Also, Lol, did the Tineye just write Dyring a Ketek? He's having way too much fun with his role.- 1232 replies

I also request clarification from Peng. If he is truly sure, with good evidence behind him, then I'll join him. Otherwise, I think I'll probably vote for someone else from Wilson's list.- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
PorridgeBrick replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'm inclined to agree with killing the Rioter, too, but it also seems too obvious. Wouldn't he wait a bit after receiving the list so he can avoid suspicion? But I can't see how else he's been so successful, beyond sheer luck, some way to listen on PMs (which would actually make a lot of sense, seeing as how Meta just started to make us send them to him), or some way of performing multiple seekings per cycle. Does anyone know the odds for getting the Lurcher and Seeker in a row through just guessing?- 1232 replies

I don't believe time would have an aspect in any realm, any more than space should. They are merely dimensions, universal to all three realms, that contain everything. It's the matter and energy that fill those dimensions that have separate aspects across the three realms. However, I do think the ideas we connect to certain periods of time most certainly could have their own aspects. The concept of a Tuesday, or a Thursday, are not inherent to time: they are arbitrary distinctions we make, just thoughts, and as such would have their own aspects. But since they aren't actually essential to how time itself works, but how we comprehend it, I don't think you could actually time-travel or otherwise manipulate time with them. What you can do with them, though, I'm not sure. Maybe you could fool with someone's perception of time?

It actually makes sense that Investiture has these effects on light: if you imagine it as pure Spiritual energy, then it's probably going to manifest in the Physical as the closest analogue, Physical energy. And a great deal of that is then emitted as EM waves. It's the only shared characteristic of Investiture that seems fully explainable, really. Any effects on age, health, etc, are much less intuitive.

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
PorridgeBrick replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
This is not necessarily the case. If Shimble was important, there was a good chance his death being as early as possible would be helpful to the Inq. Since he said he was important, the Inquisitor would have known he was either a Tineye, Lurcher, Coinshot, or Seeker. Sorry if there's anyone I missed there. If he was a Tineye or Lurcher, then he gets no real benefit from spiking with them, since one Lurcher is completely adequate protection for him. If it's the Coinshot or Seeker, then it's dangerous to leave them alive, since either could defeat him in one day by simple random chance. And killing the Lurcher early would allow him to kill off Peng and stop him before any momentum had been gained for our side. The risk of wasting a spike here is outweighed by the risks of leaving them alive.List-master Wilson. You have done an admirable job in a very timely manner on my commission. I will be sure to go to your Guild first for any List-making services I am in need of. Thank you. As agreed, I will pay in the currency you preferred, atium, with a large tip in Up Votes.- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den
PorridgeBrick replied to Metacognition's topic in Sanderson Elimination
In order to further our investigations, I would like to commission from our newly formed List-makers Guild a list, bearing the following specifications: 1. That it chronicle the voting for the second day of our endeavor, on which the nobleman Shimble Leice, may he rest in peace, was murdered so savagely. 2. That it include all votes or suspicions levied on that day on the part of the seven who advocated his death, including any that were taken back or never became formal votes. 3. That the votes be ordered in the order they were given, including whether they came before or after a deadlock was made between Wes and Shimble. 4. That any justifications or reasonings for their votes, or lack thereof, be noted for those seven who voted for Shimble, including those given after his death. As compensation for this undertaking, I am willing to pay in whichever currency the List-makers prefer, such as, but not limited to, Up Votes, Internets, Awesome Points, atium, Rosharan spheres, Breaths, boxings, or Sodium.- 1232 replies

Long Game 2: The Devil's Den

Personally, I think the people on the list of those who voted for Shimble are more likely candidates than the people who haven't done anything at all. Of course, which of them is a bit harder. My gut says Aspren, but I don't really have much to prove anything? Anyone have more concrete suspicions from those 7?- 1232 replies
