  1. I kinda got a bit snappy with someone at work the other day. It was another part-time, we'd been on shift for 10 hours, and I had already been working 39 hours the past few days before that. So I was stressed, and tired, and irritated. And got sorta frustrated with stuff, and...well, snapped at her for it. To be fair, she did the same back, and I apologised, but still. Not my finest hour... And today, kinda got the cold-shouldered impression that she's told at least one other person about it. So all my suspicions that no one at work liked me are now basically coming true. And this is why I try not to have a social life...
  2. I'm kinda batting two ideas for fantasy worlds around. One is a naval-based setting; lots of islands, fleets, that sorta thing. Not sure on swaers for it though. Storms would have been great, but I hear somebody has already taken it... The other is using this culture which believes horned/antlered creatures are sacred. So thinking of using "Tines" as a curse word equivalent to "damnation"...
  3. I wish I could do that at my job.It would solve so many problems. CapDad Also, CIVIL WAR: Starring Chris Evans as Captain America, and Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark!
  4. I haven't had time for season 6, so I figured I'd catch it when it gets a UK airdate. I just saw the teaser for the next episode. I WILL be making time to watch it.
  5. Ah. I stand corrected. This is why I don't post in these sections much! : P
  6. Absolutely- I would just argue whether we have enough information on why Rayse doesn't want the Intent corrupted. It could be that hid personality is on-line enough with Odium that he still has a personality, rather than just being Odium. It might be that he doesn't know how picking up other shards will mess with his Intent, so not picking them up is a calculated thing. Or it might be that Hatred just doesn't want to pick them up to begin with. After all, Brandon says Odium doesn't want to pick up the Shards. That leaves it ambiguous as to whether or not Rayse would want to.
  7. Working on a degree is tough enough without anything else going on. So best of luck with that. The only advice I can give comes from personal experience; working on an essay for 72 hours straight is a worse idea than it sounds. So... don't do that. (Unless you don't mind your family reminding you of your crazy insomniac ramblings for the rest of your days) Besides that, I hope everything is okay with your dad, and that you enjoy your honeymoon.
  8. I'd say being "a good match" is vague enough to be useless in discussion, particularly since we don't know what that means. It could range anything from "He had a hateful personality in-line with Odium's Intent", to " He had a personality that would temper and not be easily persuaded by Odium's Intent". ...granted, I think the text contrasting him with Ati is a good indicator that they mean the former, but still. We don't know what the Shattering or the participants were like, so judging stuff is...hard.
  9. Only way I can think of that working would be to have him drift between RP topics. But I'm also pretty sure the only way his story can end is in him getting locked down in one ()probably Corvalis or Astoria), outted, and then lynched by angry epics and/or vanilla's. I'm more of an "ideas" guy. Practical things like "how does this work" aren't precisely my forte.
  10. Randm character concept, which I'm pitching more to see if anyone has done it yet? I think there are shades of it in Nathan, but maybe not exactly the same... Basically, an epic con man. As in, a con man who pretends to be an epic. Think Jack Harkness, way back he was introduced; a grifter, drifter and all-around malcontent, faking epic powers to get a leg-up on things. Usual M.O, of course, would be to roll into town, get what he wants and et outta dodge before he has to actually back his claims up (which... might not work for an RPG), but... figured I'd run the idea by ya'all?
  11. "We are not together in a romantic capacity. We are simply friends who exercise certain benefits from our relationship." ...actually, in all seriousness, hearing it lined out like that put's me in mind of a Vulcan. Logical -yes- and having reasons for her actions...but nonetheless having very strong emotions.
  12. Shiny has out crazied Lyla. This cannot be allowed to go unaddressed. ...oh, and Epics.
  13. Possible Calamity spoilers...but why were there no famous epic heroes in the early days?
  14. I was hoping that Jasnadin would be a think when I first read WoK. Mostly because I hate Kaladin and Shallan as a couple, and I think Jasnah would be far more intriguing. Personally, I would be kinda bothered if the female scholar who expressed dislike at the idea of being married to a man turned out to be gay. I'm not saying it can't work; for that matter, I don't object to an ace!Jasnah, either. But... I don't know. It's a thing I find difficult to articulate? I think it's more interesting if Jasnah is disinterested in love for her own reasons rather than it being related to sexuality or past trauma.
  15. Epic powers are strange...except that they aren't, really. Your typical, everyday superhero powerset is strange, and it's kinda flimsily handwaved with pseudoscience. Like, the Flash. He can run so fast he can walk through walls? Because speed and vibrations. Uh...okay? Really, the "weird" part of Epic's comes from the (apparently) limitless variety of powers, rather than the powers themselves. Modern comics tend to stick to fairly common power sets -speed, or strength, or flight, or whatever. The twist with Epic's is in trying to come up with really off-kilter and downright strange powersets. (In which case I think you guys have exceeded Brandon because, Firefight aside, most of the other Epics have clear comic counterpart power sets. But I can't think of anyone like the Panda)
  16. I tend to imagine most people's voices online the same, just with different tones of speed. So... I imagine you as prety calm, level-tone most of the time...with higher pitched/quicker/whatever when Smiley's are involved. (So I read a lot of your jokes as very straight faced)
  17. Ooh! Ooh! Me, me! I'm curious if the Arrow-theme I go for influences how people (who aren't Joe*) imagine I sound. *I had to look up what tenor means. Singing voice...? Sorry to ruin your headcanon, but the only thing my singing voice is is "Off-key".
  18. ... I just realised that Fortuity is Yamcha. (But yeah, I figure it's insecurity and rejection issues.)
  19. I sometimes act out a characters expression or action to get in their mindset. My sister just asked why I was jumping around with a crazy grin on my face. I'm not entirely sure how to explain it.
  20. She hated waiting. No, scratch that - she hated waiting. Waiting around meant doing nothing, and nothing was more boring that nothing, and there was a limit to how many times even an uber-fan could look at the same handful of photo's before getting bored. Lyla moaned, loud and obnoxiously, dropping back on the bed. She wanted to do..., she didn't know, something. Get her photo's developed. Add them to her scrapbook. Try to get a meeting with Redlight and convince the epic of Lyla's potential as an apprentice and/or sidekick. More than anything, though, Lyla wanted to not be confined to a clinic bed. It had been however-long since the epic invasion, and she had only suffered the minorest of scratches. She straightened up at once. She was fine. Really, who would know her body better- a bunch of medical "professionals", or her? A shame none of them are healing Epics, she thought, pulling a jacket around her. She would have stayed then. But of course, the only healing epic she had ever heard about was- She stopped in her tracks, seeing Doctor Game. It wasn't because of Game, of course; the doctor didn't seem to have seen her yet. His attention was more focused on the tank, and the fish -were squid fish?- and the girls in front of him. It was the latter that got Lyla's attention, too. "Oh. My. Calamity." The girl felt herjaw drop in naked amazement, and the fact that she was supposed to be sneaking away was immediately forgotten. "Scribbler!" She approached the epic -an epic! and a friend that Lyla didn't recognise, but the important part was an epic!- her face split with a grin. "This is so. Cool. I had no idea an epic was in the clinic! This is... this is awesome! Can I get a picture of you? No, wait - can I get a picture with you? And can you sign it? 'Cause it's be really sweet if I could get a personalised photo with Scribbler!"
  21. I got snowed on this morning. It was sunny less than five minutes beforehand. I step outside, and boom- snow. Go back inside, sun. Outside, snow again. Is this the part where I'm supposed to let it go?

Hmm. Nightwing? Yes, he has a fighting focus -superhero after all- but the point of the character is that he's the Heart of the Batfamily, and the DC universe as a whole. Sure, he's smart. Sure, he's acrobatic. Sure, he trades blows with the best of them. But Nightwing's superpower -more than any other male DC character short of Supes- is that he cares about people.
  23. I've actually found (and been struggling to learn) the rules for a Pokemon tabletop RPG. ...and been considering doing a nuzelock of Gen I. With the 20th anniversary games out this year (and my friends getting really into Pokemon again) I figure I'll probably buckle to peer pressure and pick up either the Celestia or Luna editions. Also? Eeveelutions trainer for life, guys. The Eevee line is one of my favourites.
  24. I've never heard of this before. Would someone mind enlightening me?
