  1. ... see,now I'm picturing the Last Moderator, a Clint Eastwood type wandering the Internet, putting down trolls, spam bots and flame wars with a swing of his banhammer. Naturally, he'd look in at the Shard, nod with approval, and mosey on his way.
  2. But the title implies a next level of weirdness. Weirdness squared. Weirdness beyond weirdness. I just want Cosmere!Cthulhu to be summoned and melt my brain. Is that so wrong?
  3. I just realised that we are 55 pages into this. When does the weird thing happen? Do we need to clock up 100?
  4. Orlion works at Hogwarts, confirmed?
  5. I... Have put all my weight back on again. My self esteem keeps shorting out...

  8. via Imgflip Meme Generator I'm really enjoying Konosuba as a show, but only realised today that Nale has the same alias as Darkness
  9. Pet peeve: I hate the way ny brain starts worrying when I post things that I'm being whiny or pretentious or killing topics.
  10. The same thing that happens when I get involved with anything: it dies. ... That is a rather extreme reaction, appealing to my vanity In all seriousness, the RPG has slowed down some lately,, considering how often people used to post there. Personally, I kind of suspect it to be a mix of other responsibilities creeping in again (like school), the Reckoners series currently being finished (leading to a minor down take in interest), and the volume of stuff already existing being somewhat intimidating to new players. (The last one, at least, is a personal thing; I only post int he Dalles thread, simply because there is so much other stuff that I don't think I'd be able to keep up.)
  11. He thought he could fly. Wrong.
  12. I... am still reading 'The Painted Man' by Peter V Brett. Nearly finished though, finally
  13. @Oversleep@Deliiiiiightful@Erunion So, minor archery update. I might not be able to do the tuition for a while (between costs and scheduling) but they do offered thing where you can shoot 30 arrows for minimum cost. Also, they run combat archery sessions. 'kay, I offically have a goal. Self-teach myself archery Oliver Queen style, and win a combat archery game. Well, my parents always wanted me to get into a sport... (Plus, a fantasy setting I have is based around archery so, research)
  14. Yeah, I really got to agree with this sentiment. I've been seeing this trend pop up in a few things lately; a VN I played called Fragments Note had the main characters sister as one of the romance options...and even before thermae branched off to let you choose a romance, it featured the two kissing one another. I've started reading No Game No Life, since the concept sounds amazing...but it's also made ridiculously clear that the main characters little sister is in love with him. I am rather hesitant to continue that book series on that account. Heck, I read the Love Hina manga back in my teen years, and at one point the main characters little sister starts pursuing him romantically...though his response is a repeated, firm back and firth between "No," and "God No!" Those works are always really clear to point out that the characters aren't look relatives, just adopted but I don't think that makes it any better. It still feels very uncomfortable. (To some stories credit, they DO do interesting things with that trope, just as Game of Thrones uses the Lannicest to tell us something about Jaime and Cersei. In Attack on Titan, Mikasa is -for all intents and purposes- Eren's sister, but the issue of romance is a lot more ambiguous on her side, while Eren seems to wholely reject it. Revolutionary Girl Utena has...way more complicated stuff, but again, it's not presented in a positive way) So...yeah. Anime, please stop with brother/sister incest, and I can't believe I had to type that sentence.
  15. Typing on mobile is the worst. Literally the worst. Not having any alternatives only intensifies the worse-ness
  16. I have just found out that a local sports centre does archery tuition. I am so tempted to sign up for that.
  17. Safer shouldn't be read as better, because you're right. Mental illness is rarely depicted well, or gets reduced to (inappropriate and ill-fitting) buzzwords. (For instance, from what I've read, Sherlock's insistence that the title character is a "high functioning sociopath" is wrong because Sherlock doesn't meet any of the definitions of such) Maybe there was a concern about glamorising mental illness, or trivialising it by associating it with super powers. I dunno; but I can see why they would go that route, even if I disagree with it.
  18. They might be going with that angle? I definitely remember hearing that as part of the pitch at one point. That might be a safer way to play things, and it's not like fidelity to the source material has ever been FOX's main concern with the X-Men franchise.
  19. Cybermen
  20. To be fair, the trope isn't that unique; there was a game released a while back, Killer 7, that had that concept. A villain from the Yu Yu Hakusho had it, too.
  21. Stetson. Most because it's one of the few hats I know the name of. Favorite emoticon?
  22. It's the mental illness part that has me wary, to be honest. I'm really, really glad that mental illness is getting represented; I'm just cautious about how it's going to be handled.
  23. Actually, no. I didn't realise it had a UK release; only found out earlier today. So, gonna download it from our service provider and get caught up. I'm...curious, though. Reckon it could be really good, or really bad. Thoughts?
