Oh geeez. Delightful, next to disses Renarin, saying you want to hate Loki is maybe the surest way to earn Feathers ire. Agree with you on Jane Foster, though. The way the film opened, I was hoping she'd be the main character, meaning the whole narrative she (and the audience) would be wondering whether Thor was a god, crazy, or just something else. Cap and Peggy, on the other hand, broke my heart.

Hah! You're welcome. Seriously... I'm hoping this little Pony take-over was fun for people in general; I just wanted to try and get the forum active again, since things had kind of stabilized a bit. You're banning me from this thread? I won't typo as much, and I'll stop my plans for world domination, I promise! ...It's lonely in my thread... And speaking personally... maybe the image isn't 'appropriate' for what's going on but I wanted to use it. It was one of the first things I saw when I started getting 'into' MLP, and it really affected me, so... now I plague it upon all of you.

But... but... okay... Though I will say I don't know if Brandon would go with that as an idea. Yes, like you say it's kind of an old fantasy trope with the phylactery and what not... but given how J.K.Rowling the whole Horcrux thing, I wonder if people might think he's being derivative of her. And... Brandon says there is a Shard who just wants to survive, correct? Does he mean the Shard, itself, has an intention of Survival, or the shardholder wants to survive and is stopping the Intend/impulse to invest themselves?

Haven't been replying here, which doesn't mean I haven't been reading. Thanks for your suggestions guys,, and I do intend on getting a reply to all of the stuff you've suggested... just trying to structure it with quotes and unquotes and so on is a little more time consuming than I thought it would be. But... thanks. Honestly, this board is the reason I joined the forum to begin with. I've wanted to write since I was... nine or ten? not sure of what I wanted to write exactly, but in a curriculum that was annoyingly sports-focused, reading was the one thing that appealed to me, and creative writing assignments were my favorite. The fact that I haven't ever managed to actually complete a piece of work since then has been... disheartening. I didn't start actually, actively trying to write until my teen years, which were mostly fan fiction (abandoned after a chapter or two) or some attempts at original fiction (likewise). As I say, I do think I have some ideas which, if nothing else, aren't terrible. But whenever it comes to actually writing about them, I always get these feeling like I'm polluting or not doing right by them. It probably doesn't help that I'm kind of a perfectionist, and I hate even the best things that I do.
