  1. Firefly is truly wonderful and is something I constantly rewatch. But Serenity, I'm still not over that death.
  2. You have invoked the SE curse of Wyrm. The first person you trust will be the Elim leader.
  3. Mr. Invisible is going to be visible? This really is the twilight zone.
  4. So we have Laidback!Kas and Analytical!Alv? All we need now is Threadtalking!Burnt and this really will be the Twilight Zone. This is going to be a fun game. You lot are in for a treat with 2014 Kas around.
  5. Blackbane watched the growing pool of urine making sure it didn't flow under his boots. Once the flow stopped, he tucked everything away and laced up his trousers before heading back towards the camp. How long had it been since he was last on the front line, Blackbane had no idea. After the last failed attempt, time itself seemed to both stand still and speed along at an incredible rate simultaneously leaving him confused as to what happened afterwards. One thing was clear though and that was that the Chalklings were still coming and that was enough for Blackbane. Someone was behind all of this and Blackbane was going to find them. One way or another! Signing up. I'm going to try and be more analytical this game but don't be surprised if I fall back into old habits.
  6. Whether or not you are an analysis player shouldn't matter. If you don't want to do analysis, then don't. Post your gut reads if you want and the others will just have to be happy with that. If you're chaotic, yes you are more likely to get exe'd but that is part of the price you have to accept. Same goes if you want to change your playstyle. People are creatures of habit, you do something different, it will stick in their minds and make you stand out. That will naturally cause them to focus on you more resulting in you being killed or voted on more often. But that doesn't mean you should stop doing it. If you are having fun, then keep it up. If you want to be less serious, that's great. Do it. These games could do with more fun/quirky players. It is not okay to hurt others to win. There is a reason we have a rule about using someones real life as a reason for trust. If you know someone outside in the real world and you use information from that to betray them, that is very much not okay! If playing this game destroys a friendship then perhaps you shouldn't be playing. Having said that, in game knowledge is fair game. These games are about killing and betraying each other. There will be hurt feelings and a sense of betrayal but remember, it is just a game. The people on the other side of that screen don't mean to truly hurt you even if at times it does feel that way. Prioritizing fun over pressure is very difficult. What is fun for you might not be fun for others. Best chance is for everyone to play the games their way but listen to others. If you want to RP this game, great but perhaps RP your suspicions as well. If you want to focus on analysis, go for it but remember that not everyone plays the same as you and forcing them to give their suspicions is not something you should do. Asking if someone is willing to share is good but if they choose not to, respect their decision. If you don't bend over backwards to accommodate the RPs or the quirky players then they shouldn't have to bend over backwards for you. You can always ask for more but accept what you are given. Backstabbing is part of the game. You trust someone and they betray that trust. Don't take it personally for it was not personal. At some stage you will be the one in position to betray them. Will you do it? Thinking from another's perspective is very difficult. The best I can come up with is to think about that post you just made and how you would feel if someone said that to you. Take what I said with a grain of salt though. I've spent years building up my playstyle to the point that I can get away with almost anything. For example I spent the entire game of QF27 spouting quotes from Shadow of Mordor as Zunn the Mad. Even the end post closing up the game was in Zunn's style. At no stage did I try and solve the game. Sure near the end I was very suspicions of Orlok but I didn't break character to say so because I didn't want to. I was having too much fun as Zunn. No one expects analysis or gut reads from me because I spent a lot of time/games setting up my playstyle that way. It can and will take each player years to truly find their own style. You will be killed for trying different things. You will be voted on for being wrong in your gut/analysis posts. This is part of the game. Stick with it, push through and you will emerge with a playstyle unique to you. Trust me, it'll be worth it.
  7. This is the thread that never ends. Yes it goes on and on my friends. Some people started replying not knowing what they did And they'll continue replying forever just because
  8. So if you have 20 players then there would only be 20 Breaths. With players dying with their Breath and no other way for anyone to gain more, it's very unlikely anyone would get high enough to use the top tiers of abilities. You could have it so some players start with a higher Breath count than others. So the eliminators could pass around extra lives making it harder to kill them but slightly easier to identify them? Interesting. Don't need to define anything new. Just let the one who somehow gathered enough Breaths to name the Blade something different. Same mechanics, different named blade. A closer read of the rules brought up a couple more concerns. You basically have four confirmed villagers at the start of the game. Yes they might slip and give control to the eliminators when passing out their Command Words but you've also given 4 kills to the village which I would recommend they use on the first day to insure the eliminators don't gain a free kill. On top of that all they would need to do is out themselves in thread, PM each other with their Command Words and the elims can't do a thing. It would take them until the 7th Night to kill all of them because the village will not vote for them by which stage new players would have the Command Words. The eliminators only being able to kill every odd cycle would make the game drag out longer than normal and give the village a lot longer to find them. I see no reason for the village to give away their Breaths making it extremely unlikely any of the Breath Mechanics would be used. If they did. the Second Heightening would be the only one of any real use as the eliminators would have higher Breath counts since they would want extra actions or lives. Overall, I feel the game is heavily favouring the village. You have a good base for a game but it does need some work. Something I like to do when I create a game is to break it. I run it though my head, or on paper if you want, as if I am every player and what actions I would take. If I can overwhelmingly win with one side more than the other, something needs to be tweaked.
  9. Is there another way to gain Breaths outside of someone giving you theirs? i.e Elims stealing Breaths from those they kill or a Breath lottery like in LG4. If someone is of the Fifth Heightening and survives an attack, would them giving their Breaths to another give them an extra life too? What happens if they swap back the next cycle, would it give them another life each time they gained enough Breaths? Does it have to be Nightblood? Couldn't the eliminators create a new blade like Cuddles?
  10. But if someone does have it for a week, do they not truly win?
  11. I'm going to stop asking people "How dumb can you get?"  They seem to think it's a challenge.

  12. Notes for Books: D1: D1 first reads: Mild village: Matrim, Quinn Very mild village: Illwei, stink Very mild elim: Connie D1 Second Reads: Gears: Leaning Village SfS: Leaning Elim Araris: No solid read Lotus: Slight Elim Alvron: No read given Connie: No read given Notes: Gives reads on players (See above) Votes for Connie. Wants everyone to either vote or give reason for not voting. Later retraces vote. Reiterates request for everyone to vote so elims can’t control lynch. Plenty of discussion about Shaman and rules. Knows the rules quite well. Disagrees with Fura about Shaman recalling Blades and giving them to ‘trusted’ villagers as they believe the elims would target trusted players. Overall, some good villager advice. Votes for Illwei claiming that the interaction between Connie and Illwei doesn’t seem v/v so one is likely elim. (Illwei later turned up village) Removes vote from Illwei. Doesn’t see Connie as elim anymore but will likely vote for either Connie or Illwei before end of cycle. Gives second reads on players (See above) Removes vote from Lotus and votes for Danex. Feels Danex has better chance of being lynched and wants vote to matter. Books doesn’t post again after Voting chaos starts. D2: Expresses suspicion of Matrim Votes for Experience Tags everyone who hasn’t voted and asks for their reads. (At this stage Ventyl and Araris had two votes and Experience has 3. Seems disappointed day ends in a tied lynch again and says vote manipulation will likely be involved. N2: Doesn’t like ties. Clear sign of evilness! Votes against the vote against ties and wants a tie in this for the irony. Maybe not such a bad guy after all. Several rule talks posts. D3: Unsure between Connie and Fura lynch. Trusts Mat so won’t vote Connie but doesn’t get either village or elim read on Fura. Might be willing to join in Ventyl lynch due to vote manipulations last round.. Doesn’t vote at this stage. Votes on Lotus though notes it likely won’t make a difference D4: Votes for SfS. Wonders how they knew Matrim reads were at least a third wrong. Removes vote shortly after once SfS explains their reasoning/joke. Doesn’t vote/post again. D5: Confused about Fura’s post. Busy with essay. (Hope it went well.) Overall: Imo, Books played a very solid elim game. Didn’t really defend anyone except Ventyl and even then was light defense. Gave good solid advice and rules interpretations/corrections. Tries to keep everyone voting and with good reasons. If Ventyl wasn’t dead, would very likely still be alive and considered village. A very good player. Keep an eye on Books in future games.
  13. Just in case one of the Pinch Hitters is the Shaman or new Blade Holder, I'll reiterate my request(s). Shaman, please contact me. Chanarach’s Blade Holder, please pass me the Blade so I can kill with it. Nightblood's Holder, I would very much like to get my hands on your Blade. Consider passing it to me please.
  14. So, I went and did some actual work and found some interesting bits of information. Day 2: Ventyl’s Reads: Fura:(Name was in red) Mainly for a continued push of Condensation, partly a gut read. Pushing Connie’s lynch seems a lot like the Elims pushing for a mislynch. Quinn: Slight Village, is defending Connie. Also hasn’t done anything that’s caught my eye as suspicious, though I could be missing something as Day One is still extremely confusing to me. Condensation: Village, looks they’ve either been the target of a mislynch, that was then foiled by the Truthless. Considering the Truthless win-con is to die, which endangers the Stone Shaman, I’d considered them ‘on’ the elim team and indifferent to a village mislynch. Day 2 Ventyl Notes: First to vote on Ventyl: Araris Second to vote on Ventyl: Illwei Ventyl is now in lynch lead with two votes. Others only have one. Books then Lotus vote on Experience bringing them to three votes total which removes Ventyl from lynch lead. SfS votes Araris to tie them into second with Ventyl Quinn votes Experience bringing them to four. A two vote lead. Fura adds vote to Ventyl bring them to three, one behind Experience Condensation adds fourth vote to Ventyl tying the votes. Cycle ends with Ventyl and Experience both on 4 votes each. Vote manipulation is used to kill Experience. Night 2 Interesting Things: Ventyl expresses heightened suspicion of Fura and Condensation. Fura agrees with Ventyl that there shouldn’t be anymore ties. Fura clearly the most evil of them all! Eternum reveals he is in contact with the one who removed the vote from Ventyl. Day 3 Stuff: Ventyl votes for Fura. Is open to lynching Araris as Araris wants to lynch them. Ventyl doesn’t like Eternum shifting votes from Jester to Quinn. Both turn up as Village later on. Voting ends with a three way tie on two now confirmed villagers and Fura. Day 4 Finale: Ventyl votes for Fura. Later notes they won’t be on during Night 4. They don’t turn up again. Lotus joins vote of Fura. Fura is first to vote on Ventyl Condensation votes on Ventyl tying vote up with Fura on two a piece Lotus takes vote off Fura which places Ventyl as solo lynch lead Lotus votes for Ventyl. Alvron votes for Ventyl. Ventyl now has four votes, closest rivals, Fura, Connie and Jester, only have one. Araris takes vote off Connie and onto Ventyl. Jester votes for Ventyl Mist votes for SfS Devotary votes for Ventyl bringing total to seven votes on Ventyl In conclusion: Araris, Fura and Condensation are cleared in my mind as I don’t believe they would’ve voted up Szeth out of all elims if they were bussing. Way too much to lose. During Day 2 Books and Lotus voted for Experience after Ventyl already had two votes and was in the lead at the time. Quinn increases Experience lead to two but has since flipped village. Lotus joins Ventyl vote early on Day 4 before it took off so is unlikely an elim teammate but not impossible. I would like to hear from @Eternum about who claimed to have removed the vote from a now known elim and a powerful one at that. FlyingBooks, you are the one most likely to be evil out of those I've looked at.
  15. What if Jester and Eternum both flip the Elim? Will that cause you to implode? What if I'm neither Elim or Village? *Yeah, why aren't quicklinks being added anymore?*
