    He could have just shrunk the world, coated it with a solid shell of indestructible...something...built self-sustaining fusion reactors into the shell, and flipped it off into the void, using knowledge of star trajectories to extrapolate mass and distance, so that it would slingshot into an ellipse around the next star it got close to.

    I think this might have to do with the way the things Syl was talking about - when a person dies, some crucial quality is lost, but when a spren dies, it just...becomes broken. Perhaps the crucial piece of the soul in the Cosmere, the one that moves beyond, is simply not contained in the Shardplate. What's left is a husk, a dead shell with incidental reactionary functionality but nothing else.

    See, but Joe, a power set like that prepares you for every situation with no need for creativity. Grevious wound? Stormlight/compounding! Anyone anywhere? Speed bubbles! It's much more interesting if you have actual limits to what you can do. After all, if all you have is a hammer, the unholy uses you can put that hammer to will humble and horrify the dread minds that dwell in humanities darkest soul. For example, I have a blade of cold steel and Cold Steel Allomancy and Feruchemy. The difference between this and normal Allomancy and Feruchemy is in tone - Their use precipitates the cold from the essense of the universe, tapping into the soul of the endless void to chill anything their Investiture affects. This side-effect can be manipulated by me to an extent, making the exchange more or less efficient, but it can never be done away with, nor can it overshadow the original effect.

    Oh! I'd give OreSeur the ability to do anything not involving directly harming anybody - so, he can help set up traps, lift heavy objects, etc.

    I am Pattern. I am a spren. I work with patterns - small-scale manipulations such as locks as well as codes. I do not have enough of a physical presence to attack, but I can scout and provide a base for Illuminations. If Shallan uses me as a Shardblade, I can shapeshift to any weapon, but lose my subtler abilities. Too overpowered?
