  1. Why would I both claim to be an epic and not one, especially before anyone has commented on the claim? My role is literally called WiMP, and doesn’t really have the flavor of being an epic power. Edit: I’ll also say that there is precedent for me misreading my GM PM, in the last Shadows LG I totally missed that I had Silver Bones in addition to my other ability.
  2. So yeah, apparently everyone figured out my role without me claiming it... I said I was immune to vote manip because Kas as a Rioter wouldn’t have a vote, so anyone that tried to riot me would get redirected to Kas which wouldn’t do anything. And yeah, I’m a non-epic role (called WiMP) that switches places with another player each cycle. Which means, for better or for worse, I can’t be NK’d or converted on purpose unless someone guesses who I target. I put references both to the role name and my action of swapping (or shuffling) with Kas in my posts D1 just in case. I swapped with Aman last cycle, and someone Gifted me a single use Soothe (sorry @Amanuensis if you wanted that).
  3. I ran out of time and will be busy until end of cycle, going to switch from Experience to Devotary. Also will comment and say any vote manip on me D1 would have failed, so far as I can tell, since I think someone brought that up at some point.
  4. Yeah, that's what I'm running with, though getting a flip from Stick wouldn't be the worst thing. And if we are in the conversion mindset, I don't think Stick fought very hard to live for a solo elim. So Experience has been tunneling on me, and strongly didn't want to vote Mat. Not wanting to vote someone that will flip village is elimmy. I know Exp said at some point that he would rather die than vote Mat, which is why you are cool with him. But (and I'm not sure how much credit to be giving Exp here) that's the sort of thing you could say mid-D1 before trains have solidified to gain trust. Also, I feel like putting suspicion on me and then not following up is a cheap way to look active while really just leaching off my rep to skate by easily. But... looking back, Good question. But Devo's behavior D1 doesn't really stick out (which is a thing I've been flagging people for). I suppose if Stick flipped village and we never voted out Mat, then Devo's vote/timing might draw suspicion, but that's about it. The discussion about Archer's role and a potential lack of alignment flips on reread seemed a bit suspicious but could also be Devo just being perceptive. I gotta get to bed but I'll try and reconsider my vote tomorrow.
  5. Yes. Only villagers ever vote for elims. 100% truth in this statement. Retracting from Karn, since I think he's kinda in the same mindset I was in the AG; village Rioter that is sort of confused trying to clear things up by claiming, especially in a situation where it doesn't make tons of sense for an elim!Rioter to claim. It's still weird to use your role for maximum vote swingyness I know there's lots of speculation about this being a conversion game, but I'm pretty sure that there was at least a single elim D1, since otherwise the village win condition would have been met and the game immediately ended. If this is a conversion game, then we can probably assume that the single(?) elim would have tried lying low last cycle. That doesn't mean that they wouldn't participate at all, since inactivity is a red flag of it's own. Of course, if STINK/Szeth/Dannex is the elim, I wouldn't expect them to vote (which I disapprove of, by the way). But for the sake of narrowing the pool, lets say we are in a conversion game with a single elim that voted last cycle, but didn't try and stir things up too much. That player probably would look for a conversion target in this pool as well. I'm going to exclude Kas and Aman for now, more comfortable with Aman, but I feel like they made more waves than elim!them would have. Similarly, I don't think elim!Tani would have followed onto Karn last-minute. Karn is out like I said above. My gut says that solo elim!Orlok would have tried to vote last cycle, but I'm not sure if that's actually accurate. Of the voters on Stick, that leaves Striker, Devotary, and Illwei. Solo elim!Illwei I could easily see doing the kinds of posts she had last cycle. Striker gave IRL reasons for his participation levels, though that doesn't entirely excuse him. Devotary was playing what I come to expect, but like I said before, I'm not a fan of the vote on Stick. This is my greatest current suspicion from the Stick voters. I've already passed up all the voters on Karn, which I think is reasonable for now. Of the voters on Mat, I'm not a fan of Exp for multiple reasons. I think his behavior fits nicely with a single elim, both this cycle and last. He's sort of tunneling on me while also making sure to be on one of the main trains come end of cycle. And I honestly need to go reread for the other ones: Ash, JNV, Thaidakar, and Archer. I'd hesitate to pose JNV or Thaidakar as elims in a conversion game because they are relatively new and TJ probably wanted someone that he could rely on to kick things off based on past activity. This isn't a great line of reasoning, since I think we've had new players be the starting elim in conversion games before, but I'm trying to cross people off my list and it seems good enough for now. So I'm left with Devotary, Illwei, Exp, Ash, and Archer. Need to take a closer look at the last two, but my vote's going on Experience for now. Devotary is my second choice. I'll also say that even if there are more than one starting elim this game, I'd say it reasonable to guess that one of them would have the activity profile I've suggested, and that my elimination here is thus not entirely useless. Oh yeah, @Kasimir, somewhere you had Devotary as a "do not vote" player, can you explain that?
  6. I finished by voting on Karn, who was a counter-train to Mat. So if I was bussing, I was doing it pretty incompetently. Actually, I'm going to vote Karnatheon again, sort of as a placeholder but not entirely. I don't like that there was vote manip used to save him, given that he was pretty inactive, there wasn't that strong of a case against Mat (basically just standard D1 stuff), and all the votes on him happened near end of cycle. I can see an elim team panicking and throwing out excessive amounts of vote manip because they don't know how many people will follow Aman. Of course, that is kinda assuming that Mat was village, since the vote manipping was in his favor, and I don't think anything except a probabilistic argument can be made strongly for his alignment. Also, @Experience, if you are village (or even if you're elim, I suppose), you should probably put some thought in about the other players. Nothing wrong with voting/ISOing me, but you left your vote on me most of last cycle as well, so be wary of tunnel vision. Just saw an Orlok post go up, so I'll see if there's anything to discuss there. @Orlok Tsubodai, the thing about shuffling was a joke, but it fit since I wanted to vote Mat anyways. I'll comment on some of the rest of your analysis later, but you flagged a couple of Devo's posts as elim, and that fits with my gut read from last cycle (admittedly I find it pretty hard to read Devo) as well as my general dislike of most of the votes on Stick.
  7. Since the first SE game was Mistborn themed, we refer to standard roles by their names in that game. Rioter means a role that lets you change someone else's vote while cancelling your own. Basically, if anyone refers to a Mistborn role, look at the ones from LG1/Tyrian AGs (which I've pasted below for reference):
  8. Is this equivalent to saying "Araris hasn't bussed anyone recently?" . Also, just wanted to say, you haven't been tunneling on anyone (Aman seems to have taken that upon himself), and it's nice . This, exactly. Not a fan of this, although Tani seems to be the main one, and maybe Aman. Not a fan of Striker's claim. Not entirely sure why elim!Striker would post this unless Mat is also elim though. And I'll join Aman (and maybe Mat) on Karnatheon.
  9. Apologies for the confusion. I was referring to the fact you wanted to chill this game, and then you did some wallposts. The "" was intended to convey that you weren't breaking rules.
  10. @Kasimir, you gotta chill. Don't make me use my mod voice . Experience. Not a fan of the Stick train (should figure out why, but my gut has Stick village, which is probably right because odds), seems like Kas is trying to out-shuffle me, so it's back onto Mat for me. This is likely my last post for the night, but I should have time for something shortish before rollover.
  11. This shouldn’t take long, since ignoring my exchange with Thaidakar, I only have a few (vote on Mat, dislike of Mat’s read on TJ, explanation to Kas, vote switch to you). So far I’m against voting on Illwei, agree with Aman’s take on Archer, still need some thoughts about Stick.
  12. The GM has no alignment, no role, cannot vote, and will relentlessly troll you when given the opportunity. So being “suspicious” of him doesn’t really make sense.
  13. I’m fairly sure that TJ is the least trustworthy person in this whole endeavor. But to make sure, you are aware that TJ is the GM, and not a player, correct?
  14. It's D1. Everyone is suspicious and deserves to die. Unless, you know, it's their first game or something. Currently working on catching up, but I'm going to switch from Mat onto Experience for now. Might go back or do something else altogether, depending. The vote on Experience is basically prodding since his vote on me is currently a bit pointless (he didn't encourage anyone else to join and hasn't followed up), but I also don't mind a slightly larger pool for the exe this cycle.
  15. Well, in Mat's blackout with Allomancers v Feruchemists, it never got to the point where the village all having identical roles different from the elims was enough for them to solve things. I think we are paranoid enough to allow our illustrious GM some liberties with the distro.
  16. It seemed really insincere. I could take it either way, but it made me think of the whole list as a sham. The counterpoint is that elims want to look like they are trying to help, not fool around, but I’m sticking with my gut for now.
  17. I like mechanical search mechanisms . Was definitely a blast. Sadly, like several of Wyrm's games, it had significant activity problems, but the underlying game was very solid. The Twinborn games also had a luck-based search factor that wasn't tied to win-conditions or alignment. I think LG 9 might also have had something like that? One of the early Reckoner games definitely did, but like Twinborn, it was searching for items. And the Elantris games also had search mechanics. And the recent Firefly game also had something like this; villagers would search for the Secret, and could win once enough pieces were found,
  18. Oh, I insist. I haven't been voted out D1 since LG 46, and I'm also in the LG, so this wouldn't be a horrible time for it to happen again. Also, it would put Spark's dreams to a stop.
